The music video and the appearance of the artist are just a bit "too out there" for a mainstream audience -- which is unfortunate because the song is really good. If Taylor Swift sang this song, you would get your 100 million views -- which, again, is unfortunate because this guy is clearly more talented.
In an interview he talked about recreating aspects of the 80s music scene - well as someone who went to High School and College in the 80s, I declare his experiment an unqualified success! Love his sound!
This song is amazing!! How have I not heard of him until now 😩 all of his songs and videos are so well done. I can say without question that Im already a big fan!
honestly i feel the awkwardness is a huge part of his aesthetic. He's this skinny little white boy with a deep voice and glam rocky look and pretty damn unique sound. it all works for me.
He is AWESOME live! I hadn't even heard of Diamond Rings before I saw him live in Hoboken at Maxwells. I went to see Twin Shadow and I was blown away by Both bands! I will def be trying to get tickets to Webster hall for another show.
Really fun song... Not sure about the dancing. But I admire the throwback to glam rock and would love to see him live... Come to First Ave in Minneapolis!
Put this simply ... this guy has it. Hooks. What a voice. Plus the hooks. Forget the makeup, the lousy dancing, the goofiness. Listen to that voice. And the hooks.
Saw him last night @ BK bowl before the fools gold party with Kanye west and the Wu-tang GZA. The crowd was digging him so hard. He's got impact even with hip hop fans. Super sick!!!!!! Was really cool afterward too when I spoke with him for a min.
we came here to listen to music, not to determine whether or not he's gay, leave it up to him to know what he is. i have to admit i am completely jealous of his height and i don't get jealous over many things, he truly is stunning. another thing i wanted to point out is people these days don't have dance parties anymore instead people i know have grinding parties or other vulgar and time-wasting things and i really appreciate the fact that he included that portion of the video.
WOW! The 80s exploded all over this video. Dude has: Adam Ant's makeup Debbie Gibson's jacket and nail polish Prince's purple boots David Lee Roth's pants (before he cut the crotch out of them) Weird Al's dance moves and choreography Morrissey's face/body (the exact same freaky long neck) Music is a cross between Thompson Twins, Bowie and Echo and the Bunnymen And crazy mad b-ball skills a la Larry Bird (OK, he took like four steps on his drive to the basket) Also: video ends with Breakin'
i have concluded this video is somewhat a tribute to Donnie Darko. correct me if i'm wrong. the lyrics, the feel, halloween, toilet paper, baseball bat, Sparkle Motion choreography from the Notorious dance scene, etc.
veeery very, very bowie. but god i don't care. this is brilliant too! i first saw him in an acoustic version, and thought oh great... then, he sang. and it might not even be the greatest range, but the quality to his voice is so magnetic
wait and see is awesome butis the last little bit of this video a song fro m somewhere? i need it. if it isn't one it should be made into one. love it.
80s new wave great adama ant like meets Billy Idol love the 80s people got sick opf pter frampton show me the way boring long solos ahhhhhh sick of the 70s burn outs 80s were so fresh I was the first on my block to change,,,,,loved it
Saw him last night @ BK bowl before the fools gold party with Kanye west and the Wu-tang GZA. The crowd was digging him so hard. He's got impact even with hip hop fans. Super sick!!!!!!
Good tune for sure, Odd video.. But good tune. The only problem is the 80's style thats comming back, please people leave it in the 80's where it belongs. That decade was a fashion nightmare. I was there :) again good tune.
I still don't get why this doesn't have 100 million views, but OK world.
Lizzie Modern seen him live it was just amazing. Great guy too

living proof of how art is universal. party on, diamond rings. party on.
In an interview he talked about recreating aspects of the 80s music scene - well as someone who went to High School and College in the 80s, I declare his experiment an unqualified success! Love his sound!
NOSTALGIA i haven't heard this for SO LONG. (since 2011) brings back both good and bad memories but i still love this song.
This song is amazing!! How have I not heard of him until now 😩 all of his songs and videos are so well done. I can say without question that Im already a big fan!
ty for the hd quality version of this!
honestly i feel the awkwardness is a huge part of his aesthetic. He's this skinny little white boy with a deep voice and glam rocky look and pretty damn unique sound. it all works for me.
Agreed! There is something about his awkwardness that makes me unable to take my eyes off him, plus the music and his voice are incredible
SeeThinkFall I agree 100%.
People will always dislike what isn't "normal" to them.
THAT WAS AWESOME
How could you not like this video?
Diamond Rings, make another album! Bring back new wave! lol
Where's John O'Regan? I really miss him!
Right?? 😩 If you find out let me know
great song! ...but this video made me cry, tears of pure sadness, how can something be so wrong?
He is AWESOME live! I hadn't even heard of Diamond Rings before I saw him live in Hoboken at Maxwells. I went to see Twin Shadow and I was blown away by Both bands! I will def be trying to get tickets to Webster hall for another show.
Nice, this song still slaps
Saw him at the U of C this week knowing nothing about him beforehand. Came out thoroughly impressed!
Really fun song... Not sure about the dancing. But I admire the throwback to glam rock and would love to see him live... Come to First Ave in Minneapolis!
Something different to listen to! Thank you! Great song, different video. To each his or her own though.

About time, real music and art, the way I love it! SABA xx
thumbs up if he makes, with little effort, better pop music than all of LA
Put this simply ... this guy has it. Hooks. What a voice. Plus the hooks. Forget the makeup, the lousy dancing, the goofiness. Listen to that voice. And the hooks.
him live was amazing
Seeing them this month! Super excited!
Saw him last night @ BK bowl before the fools gold party with Kanye west and the Wu-tang GZA. The crowd was digging him so hard. He's got impact even with hip hop fans. Super sick!!!!!! Was really cool afterward too when I spoke with him for a min.
