Yes, it's normal. This is why I always create form using multiple "straight" splines first, then adjust them after. If you adjust the splines and try to create aform from them, sometimes Revit will tell you that it's not possible...
Because 1: it's easier to place adaptive familys on those reference lines than create 2 profiles on each of them. 2: I want to use the Always Vertical option to achieve the perfect matching for the half beams. It might be possible to achieve this whitout adaptive family, but I still think it is simplily easier to do it this way.
