@RR Dibakar Banerjee is an incredible director though. He is perhaps one of the most underrated filmmakers in Hindi cinema. Flop ya hit se kya farak padhta hai? Most people in India do not know or understand good cinema.

In 1993 I was in hostel ...from then on till many more years I stayed in hostel so never got to watch Byomkesh Bakshi so watching the Doordarshan series now...the way every episode unfolds is gem....the simplicity is addictive.
I think Sushant has that simplicity & down-to-earth approach in the way he plays his characters.

I remember I had seen this movie in theatre back then and was so amazed by it. And I was obsessed with that Life's a Bitch song that came in the end credits and used to listen to it on loop. But I never saw this interview back then, I wish I had .. it's so nice to see the intelligent side of Sushant besides his great acting. Miss him more 💔

My heart breaks watching this interview. This movie was one of the best movies, I had seen at that time. It is one of the biggest artistic tragedies of our times that we won't have another byomkesh bakshi, especially with SSR in it. If you are reading this and haven't watched it yet, please do so.
Sushant looked very good, natural, his intellectual self in this interview. Sushant did his part very well in detective Byomkesh Bakshy, but Indian audience is unintelligent to comprehend this movie. Dibakar banerjee deserves blame for the box office flop. he could have made Sushant look more handsome, in trousers, also more scenes in bright day light, and less in dark.

Yaar ye kamaal ki movie thhi.. I went to see it..and was left amazed..yaar chali nai yaar..kitne dukhh ki baat hai..I to date think that Sushant was the best guy who portrayed Byomkesh in the modern times. Byomkesh had a fluidity..a boldness in his actions..backed by mind blowing intelligence and instincts..and Sushant played him so well..his personal focus reflected in the character's eyes..and it was awesome..sad really that it got bombed..
We would be really happy if Rajit Kapoor acts as Byomkesh in a film in the future! That will be a dream come true!

This interview is so so sensibile and intelligent, has so less views , we are certainly a lost society..
Dibakar is an intelligent and sensible guy with a vision and will to make films based on real content. Definitely going to watch his films.
I also think Sushant would've directed movies eventually. Sadly we will never be able to see them now...

I am going by his involvement and his constructive inputs he would offer during shootings. Plus, his outlook and views on almost everything would've been reflected in the way he handled the shots.

The void created by his untimely departure is a blow to bollywood. Bollywood should really get its own house in order , for the loss this time is great not just in terms of industry but also at a personal level where individuality, talent ,honesty were not rewarded in a commensurate manner. You will be missed and cherished in equal measure SSR.

Ssr also is the real life byomkesh bakshi as well he wanted justice for Disha Salian and want to reveal everything about this Sooraj Pancholi. But ab hume byomkesh bakshi ssr sir ke liye banna padega.
The actual thing is, this type of movie is beyond the understanding of those people who didn't like it. This much experiment in a movie gets appraisal in Hollywood mostly.

It’s really beautiful to see how Genuinely the Director and Senior Actor is appreciating and encouraging the young New Talent and He In turn returning that with immense respect to them. This is what a film Industry should be !!! Where talented creative people flourish , with mutual respect for one another, that result in creative masterpieces that makes the country proud!!! Not a filthy web of an industry, where people with money , fame and contacts can get ahead of the money making rat race, and ends up creating rubbish !!!

Rajit Kapur and Basu Chatterji's Byomkesh Bakshi became successful mainly for its simplicity and honesty and Mr.Kapoor as Byomkesh was very appropriate choice.Sharadindu was a lawyer,so analysis and reasoning of the mysteries of his stories are realistic,down to earth. I don't know whether he practiced in court or not.
Both Byomkesh Bakhsis are amazing talented people ...Rajat has his own charm n Sushant his own ...but the new Byomkesh is snatched from us ...and we want justice for him

People should promote and watch these types of movies. when Dibakar said our literature remains under the cover of dust for hundred years, that can be far better for making movies, i really feel good. Directors of Bollywood should learn Bengali and discover great stories. It would be unending and bollwood would be changed forever. The best Indian director is Bengali still now and he was a great writer, storyteller - Roy. His paramount legacy is still earning huge respect and love worldwide. Movies those are actually garbage but earning hundred crores are nothing but waste of audience's time and money. Bollwood should stand out of it. Go on Dibakar!

People are suddenly praising Sushant Singh Rajput now that he is dead. When this film was released, hardly anyone went and watched it. Sushant's performance in this and Sonchiriya are even better than in Dhoni. But no one cared back then. Dibakar Banerjee is probably one of the most talented, and underrated director Hindi cinema has. Still no one watched it.
