“AND NOW YOU’VE CROSSED THE LINE” UGH!!! you know this could have been an amazing theme song for super dark sonic if that form could have been in the game!
Yeah while Wyvern is the 'skill check' of the Master Trial, the song's main point 'Break Through It All' is still a good motivator as it tells you to push through it because you are capable of doing so. Never got Traumatic for me, the song's message just got drilled into my head.
Probably because like Eternal, this song sounds like it's using a 9 string. The Only Thing They Fear is You doesn't use a 9 string to my knowledge, but plenty of other tracks do. Doom 2016 also has 9 strings for several tracks.
Couldnt agree more, last time sonic was badass and at his prime was secret rings (unleashed was close) Fighting Wyvern is the most hyped I’ve been in a sonic game since dark gaia phase 2
Whoever was storyboarding the QTEs just understands the appeal of anime cinematics and shot composition so well it's insane. It's like they've been doing this forever, when frontiers is more anime then every single sonic game in the past 13 years combined. @@curlybrace4984 the problem is that the fights themself were just boring. This whole Titan battle was fucking insane. When this song kicked in and the screaming started, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. As a metal head, hearing that kind of music in my sonic game was an absolutely shell shock. And I was all for it. The whole fight was so badass and so shonen like. It really felt like this is a step in the right direction for sonic. More shonen inspired battles in future sonic games please. This is what it’s all about, super sonic going absolutely crazy on the titans and other giant beasts
This entire boss fight was just a massive doomsday reference and I loved it. flying toward a machine that you are just barely faster than to deal damage to it whilst avoiding the missiles they fire, collecting just enough rings to stay in the air.
EXACT same experience. I don't know how I thought Undefeatable was better than this, maybe I was just so focused on the fight I couldn't properly appreciate the song until I heard it again later. XD
The Giganto fight had me completely stunned by how incredible it was. For the FIRST boss in the game, might I add. Wyvern was amazing too, this game honestly might have my favorite boss fights in the whole Sonic series.
Me after Giganto: oh man what are they gonna do to top that? Me during Wyvern: DID I JUST "SO LONG BOWSER" THIS THING INTO A MOUNTAIN AS PART OF MY PARRY?!
Wyvern and Knight are the most interesting bosses in this game because of the choreographed fighting and chased downs throughout both fights. Wyvern immediately speeding up when he sees Sonic gaining on him and Knight resorting to his shield when Sonic gains aggro against him were finishing touches
@@nman551 even this song says that "And now you've crossed the line You'll wake the beast inside" "I'll warn you one last time You'll wake the beast inside You'll wake the beast inside You'll wake the beast inside" Sonic is the beast and Wyvern is the prey, that's why he's running away the whole fight, Giganto was the only one that actually faces you from beginning to end because the ancients didn't know about Super Sonic's raw strength
@@7sunox Another note on Giganto's theme in particular, especially the line "Think I'm on eleven but I'm on a nine / Guess you don't really know me." Througout the whole fight, Giganto must've thought all that raw power was the best that Super Sonic had to offer, but in reality he was just warming up.
This fight won me. I didn't know if the bosses would fall off after giganto, but they really made an equaly epic fight. I love how it chases us earlier in the game, and then we chase it back in this fight
Honestly. Giganto was so utterly awesome and hype that i was concerned there was no way anything after it could beat _that._ I was pleasantly surprised. Sonic _slamming_ this thing into a _mountain_ was BADASS
Same. I was also afraid that all the titan bosses would use "undefeatable" as the OST. So I was very happy when not only did each titan get an amazing unique boss theme, but all 3 of them were equally fucking badass fights
Snapcube put it quite well- part of the reason it works so well is that it just takes the games existong moveset and adds extra spectacle, which is something Sonic have rarely down
honestly - the best the franchise has done super sonic specific boss fights period - most super sonic fights boil down to "ram into thing at full speed."
Every single fight feels like Live and Learn all over again but even BETTER. Except Knight, he was a bit confusing and even when you did understand it the fight was still a bit bland and long.

Even if my only experiences with him have been from fangames, fanfilms, Sonic Colors DS, Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces and Team Sonic Racing and a handful of mobile games he has. We are a hell of a ways far from being perfect for SURE, but we sure as hell can come together as a group to appreciate this franchise for its goods and bads. The fact that Sonic Team has managed to bring themselves back up to making a good game again is a wonderful feeling. For the older fans who love story building and lore connections and to have fun with the spikey blue hedgehog they grew up with or for new fans that began to appreciate him. When Sonic Team gains more recruits, i hope to see sonic's next mainline story game be even better than this. Not only that but showing SEGA corp even clearer that a little patience is key to getting some great feedback and content out to the world of fans they have made. I hope they learned well and will prevent any 06's, rise of lyric's and forces' (i personally enjoyed forces at first but looked back and realized that it was ok-ish for a newer fan and not so much for older ones who would prefer Gens/Generations or Unleashed) to rise again. Hell wouldnt mind if they reworked 06 here and there, cuz as buggy as it was, the game had great potential in mind. HELLO FELLOW TWEWY FAN! god that series is such an awesome introduction to the pure blood-for-the-blood-god themeing and energy! especially since the metal and rock from twewy and NEOtwewy are in the same soundtrack as jpop and chorale music. Sonic has never let me down in the music department but i wasnt expecting every game in the last 10 years to blow me away with their soundtracks lol. No regrets being introduced to this stuff as a little tyke, it made my music taste more interesting for sure!
@@phantom-X2086 Such a strong piece of music for such an entertaining character. Pure frustration and anger is emanated from this song, and it ties so well in to how Big Su feels about the composer. Having fought this boss, all I can say it was badass, and had a few aspects blended in that a cross of Sonic Adventure, Metal Gear Resurgence, and Dragon Ball.
I think what makes this so great is how they build up the Wyvern throughout Ares Island. You get there after battling Giganto, and have some time to relax and explore before you collect an emerald, and then you have to escape its wrath after Sage provokes the beast, giving you a perfect introduction to your opponent and setting the stage for the battle to come after you do. From that point on, it’s always there, flying around in the sky above as you make your way through the rest of the island, tracking down the remaining Chaos Emeralds, watching you, reminding you of its presence at all times. Finally though, after hours of work, you get the first six Emeralds, and approach the beast, ready to claim the last one. You ascend the tower and chase the beast through the sky, and finally, you reach the beast’s head, and the seventh Emerald is yours. Sonic transforms, the final showdown begins, and this music starts playing. Just the perfect exclamation mark to my favorite island in the game, every time I hear this, internally I’m just screaming “yes, yes! YES!” God, Ares Island is just peak Sonic gaming in my opinion.
I was honestly a little nervous about Wyvern being constantly overhead- I thought if I got too close he might start raining attacks at me for a while, which thankfully wasn’t the case
The fact that you were dodging and running from the missles before, but now you're literally swatting them away and redirecting them back at the Wyvern is just THE most satisfying thing on Earth.
dude i’m so OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG i could watch it infinitely and i would never get burnt out from ittttt WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES BACK AROUND AGAIN AND IF WE DON’T COME DOWN, WE’LL BE LOST IN THE WINDDDDDD
Can we talk about how this is a huge reference towards Doomsday Zone, complete with chasing the boss through the sky, having their main attack be missiles, and taking it down by weaving around and hitting it's face with its own missiles? Having something like that fight be translated into modern visuals is incredible, and the stylization of it all is the RIGHT way to reference the classics, rather than rehash the visuals over and over. This was the biggest time for me where I was like "Wait, I think I know what's happening-" during the last part, and went "OH MY GOD THEY ACTUALLY DID THE THING" when it happened.
Typing this waiting for my coach home following Sonic Symphony in London - nothing will ever compare to hearing Break Through It All performed live, with the audience collectively screaming "DON'T LOOK DOOOOOOWN!"
The last bit of this boss was one of the greatest spectacle fights I've experienced, made even more memorable by this bit 2:40 playing right as I was doing the last QTE. I thought it was an intentional timing lining up those lyrics with the the way that sonic finishes the boss and I popped off.
@@GuardianOfDandelions the final part of the bosses has the song skip to its ending even if during the gameplau it didn't still reach that point so that it could match the end of the boss fight
My top 3 is: 1. Break through it all 2. Find your flame 3. Undefeatable All of them are godlike but when the second half of this started playing my soul left my body.
Break Through it All has the best second phase and it's just a godly part Undefeatable has the most hype and it backs it up Find your Flame is good overall
What I really like is that it uses chords with what people associate with Ancient Egypt or desert themes, so you kinda get that "fighting an ancient Egyptian God" feel, espcecially 0:44 and 1:53. Incredible track!
That's what i was thinking! The whole "Ancient Egyptian" feel of this song at some points, In the middle of the Ares island desert It just made my head explode of goosebumps
Fun fact: much of the vocal melody is based around the Phrygian Dominant scale, which is a Middle Eastern sounding scale. Lots of desert themes in video games are based around the same.
i have to admit..i havent been this excited in a super sonic battle ever since sonic and the black knight. they finally gave a meaning to super sonic and how strong he actually is.
If Frontiers is the beginning, can you imagine what we'll get next time around? So happy for Sonic Team. Once they iron out the final "bad calls" and throw more money (people) at the next project, they won't have to cut corners, like what the fans are saying. I'm still playing the game after full completion just because its so fun to run around and do the obstacles. Theres so much potential left. Imagine Sonic CD future/past signs that you run by, but in open world, imagine the kind of stuff they could do. They could build a Sonic Adv 3 out of this engine. So happy for Frontiers, but even more excited for the next installment 😎
And now with modern processing the transition between times may be smoother and quicker. I heard that they wanted a small boom to transition between CD time zones but couldn't because the hardware was too weak. Imagine what they could do now...
Undefeatable feels like its own thing. Breaking Through It All is definitely the most MGR theme in the game. Find Your Flame is Bury the Light’s younger but still just as cool cousin
(Final Horizon spoilers) This song is what keeps me going against Wyvern in the Master King Trial Edit: I finally beat the trial. It took a few days, but it’s done. And if I can do it, that means you can too.
I can beat the wyvern easily now, now I have to worry about knight whenever he attacks you and cucks all the rings you tried really hard saving after you beat wyvern. 😭😭😭 Edit: correction I have defeated the trial! FUCK YEAH DUDE!!!! 💕
While Find Your Flame is probably my favorite Titan theme overall, this one definitely has the best climax. The drop on "So break through it all!" at 2:01 is just the most epic shit since ever, and the energy keeps up for the entire second half of the song.
This boss fight felt like the fate of the universe was in my hands. If they had chosen a different song, this fight wouldn't have been as great as it was. I got chills and it felt like I was pushing my limit when I finally got to the final section of the fight. Challenging while maintaining an intense atmosphere. Unbelievable experience overall.
I’m just getting into the sonic fandom and I found this song through the video “The Silver Campaign”, and OH MY GODDDD. IMMEDIATELY PUT INTO MY PLAYLIST.
i just beat this boss and oh my god it was just as good as the last one...maybe even better with super sonic flying and chassing the boss trough the island and the the song was fire!! im excited to discover the third island and keep saving sonic's friends!
The pure, epic atmosphere of the melody starting at 2:00 after everything else is so powerful to me that I get a little emotional, to be honest. Throat closes up while I try to sing along- it's that good.

The fact that you were dodging and running from the missles before, but now you're literally swatting them away and redirecting them back at the Wyvern is just THE most satisfying thing on Earth.
Ares was genuinely fucking fantastic if the entire game was like that it would’ve been easily the best sonic game
dude i’m so OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG i could watch it infinitely and i would never get burnt out from ittttt
WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES BACK AROUND AGAIN AND IF WE DON’T COME DOWN, WE’LL BE LOST IN THE WINDDDDDD
Same bro best song in the game
This feels like Sonic grew out of its punk rock phase and into a metal phase, and I fucking love it
Can we talk about how this is a huge reference towards Doomsday Zone, complete with chasing the boss through the sky, having their main attack be missiles, and taking it down by weaving around and hitting it's face with its own missiles?
I legit shed a tear fighting the bosses 💀
It was only this one for me, but me too bro, me too

Oh bro k felt this in my SOUL. Once I was done with the battle I had to take a short break 😭
This boss was incredible with this music. Didn’t want the fight to end.
I don’t care that these battles are a bit long, because they’re so fucking fun.
@@nman551 gonna easily say that these were some of the best sonic battles ever.
@@JJRETRO i agree! Especially Giganto, that one was badass!!
@@thetriangleboi you know it man! So so good!
@@nman551 I feel that they’re not long enough. I enjoy them too much
Can we all agree that Kellin Quinn is absolutely *CRUSHING* this OST?
Sonic finally figthing lore accurate on the actual gameplay
2:23 fist bump motif
It took me so much time to notice, how the HELL did you hear it?
Lore accurate would be spindashs, homing attack and boosts lol
@@BeingOfEvil0 lore accurate sonic is erasing the entire reality with a chaos control
i noticed it instantly
Every bossfight feels like the final fight. Especially when you get the last emerald.
The last bit of this boss was one of the greatest spectacle fights I've experienced, made even more memorable by this bit 2:40 playing right as I was doing the last QTE. I thought it was an intentional timing lining up those lyrics with the the way that sonic finishes the boss and I popped off.
That must’ve felt so 2000’s
the game changes what part of the song is playing to line it up with phase transitions and QTEs
@@ketrub Does it for the missiles? Whenever I see streamers on this fight the song never lines up for that segment.
@@GuardianOfDandelions the final part of the bosses has the song skip to its ending even if during the gameplau it didn't still reach that point so that it could match the end of the boss fight
Bruh is your pfp literally just swiftcast
Whirling around Wyvern like a ragdoll before throwing it into a mountain was euphoric
My top 3 is:
1. Break through it all
2. Find your flame
3. Undefeatable
All of them are godlike but when the second half of this started playing my soul left my body.
yeah those are the best boss themes for sure, maybe ever in 3D sonic history
My top 3 is
1. Find your flame
2. Undefeatable
3. Break trough It all
Break Through it All has the best second phase and it's just a godly part
Undefeatable has the most hype and it backs it up
Find your Flame is good overall
1. Break through it all
2. Undefeatable
3. Find your Flame
1. Find your flame
2. Undefeatable
3. Break through it all
But even third place is a 7/10
What I really like is that it uses chords with what people associate with Ancient Egypt or desert themes, so you kinda get that "fighting an ancient Egyptian God" feel, espcecially 0:44 and 1:53. Incredible track!
Reminds me of slifer the sky dragon
Which is exactly why I like this track
That's what i was thinking! The whole "Ancient Egyptian" feel of this song at some points, In the middle of the Ares island desert
It just made my head explode of goosebumps
Fun fact: much of the vocal melody is based around the Phrygian Dominant scale, which is a Middle Eastern sounding scale. Lots of desert themes in video games are based around the same.
i have to admit..i havent been this excited in a super sonic battle ever since sonic and the black knight. they finally gave a meaning to super sonic and how strong he actually is.
2:24 - 2:42, especially the bit after 2:35 (i.e.: "until the battle's won"), is totally a Fist Bump motif.
Well it's using the fist bump riff.
Isn't "we won't stop until the battles won" the exact lyrics from forces?
@@thenickstrikebetter It’s not word for word the same but yea they’re basically the same
@@jbshade1216 ok.
@@thenickstrikebetter "Push me on through until the battle's won" if I remember right
My only gripe about this boss fight is that it ended 😭
And the fact that I dont think you can revisit the fights 😢
@@MorganBobrowski yeah you can't

@@MorganBobrowski I replayed the game and made save files so I can fight these bosses again
@@donathan2933 I wish there was a way to go back to the bosses after you beat the game 😔
2:02 feels like a fight for the fate of the planet. You can feel the power that's needed.
Iizuka said that he's interested in developing Sonic Adventure 3 using what they've learned from Frontiers.
@@thegamerator10Oh, this is gonna be good.
I hate that this is the least popular one out of all of them. This is my favorite song in all of Sonic.
I wouldn't say all of them.
*Looks at Surpreme and The End*
2:42 i love this part the most, i especially love how they made it sound like the beginning of the main theme "i'm here".
Undefeatable feels like its own thing.
Breaking Through It All is definitely the most MGR theme in the game.
Find Your Flame is Bury the Light’s younger but still just as cool cousin
I'm here is live and learn but toned down a bit
I may be a idiot... What's MGR?

2:00 bruh, how tf you play this game without the biggest smile on your face😆
That part had me absolutely hornswoggled couldn't even smile I just had a look of absolute disbelief and shed a tear
(Final Horizon spoilers)
This song is what keeps me going against Wyvern in the Master King Trial
Edit: I finally beat the trial. It took a few days, but it’s done. And if I can do it, that means you can too.
Same. I never got tired of it when I had to repeat the trial. It was always a banger and still is 🔥
I can beat the wyvern easily now, now I have to worry about knight whenever he attacks you and cucks all the rings you tried really hard saving after you beat wyvern. 😭😭😭
Edit: correction I have defeated the trial!
Theme of failing short timing windows and losing too many of your 400 rings
By the way parrying a missile skips the chase and puts you right at Wyvern's head for the claw swipe parry
The part at 2:01 is amazing, chills every time.
i cant stop listening to the phase 2 chorus its so godly
sonic frontiers ost: *exists*

getting to the "what goes around, comes back around again" part as i did the big throw for the first time was legendary.
I’m just getting into the sonic fandom and I found this song through the video “The Silver Campaign”, and OH MY GODDDD. IMMEDIATELY PUT INTO MY PLAYLIST.
Love how you pinned that comment at the top so that the fans can tear them apart
i just beat this boss and oh my god it was just as good as the last one...maybe even better with super sonic flying and chassing the boss trough the island and the the song was fire!! im excited to discover the third island and keep saving sonic's friends!

@@maroonkennedy6213 heck yeah mate, i hope you are enjoying the game too as much as i am!
WE ARE ALL SOOO HAPPY, WHAT A YEAR TO BE A SONIC FAN 💙🥺
The pure, epic atmosphere of the melody starting at 2:00 after everything else is so powerful to me that I get a little emotional, to be honest. Throat closes up while I try to sing along- it's that good.
I cried when that part came up in the game you're not alone 💀
Honestly I get the same feeling 😂 The chorus is REALLY powerful
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE. Singing to this always chokes me up, my goodness!
as a metal/alt. rock fan, this track pleases me and pumps me up. the shrieks made by Quinn at the beginning and the guitar/drum riffs hit so hard. fuck yeah, this is why i love Sonic 🤘
