W mans Also I have a small suggestion, when TOWW is standing near a window, invisible or not, it leaves a faint handprint or a spot like when you breathe close to glass. I thought that’d add just that one extra bit of eeriness
He should have a few new Whispering lines. A couple suggestions I have are: 1. You Should Run 2. I'm not your friend 3. Shhhhh, It will be over soon 4. 1,2,3,4, come look at your door 5. I see you 6. Look around I'm watching you
Hey Pixel, as a concept designer/writer for monster behaviour I have a couple suggestions to make your creation even more horrifying and immersive: - Make it so that TOWW can identify where the player stays (a house for example) and the longer the player resides within that space the more active or aggressive TOWW becomes as it knows that you as the player is in a constant state of hiding thus allowing TOWW to become more persistent as if it knows you are afraid - Block breaking and/or interference (and being able to interact with doors and trap doors) gives the player an almost constant feeling of vulnerability and paranoid (perhaps even playing sounds to pretend that it’s breaking the wall of a base) - If there is a one block gap then TOWW could crawl through it in a way that makes it look disturbing almost as if it forces it’s body through the gap - If you stare at TOWW through glass for a certain amount of time that block/pane of glass cracks or perhaps even break - If TOWW is visible all mobs within 30-50 blocks of the player won’t spawn giving a very uneasy feeling especially due to the sudden change in atmosphere (the eerie silence and feeling of dread) - Maybe from time-to-time TOWW will be on all four of its limbs instead of standing on its two legs making it both harder to spot and enable it to hide in 1 block spaces Anyways these are just a couple ideas of mine :)
I agree with most of this but something I certainly don't agree with is him being able to break blocks. In my experience it becomes more infuriating than scary.
Yeah for the 1 block spaces, i think that it shouldnt crawl but force itsef through with its hands and legs on the sides rather than a normal crawl. Sometimes the clipping messes up with crawls and it ruins the experience for other dwellers and thats one of the reasons it just isnt scary.
I really like these ideas.. Gives a bit more of a ‘I’m literally never safe’ feeling. Now; we give him an even more random AI.. one that specifically adapts. Placing blocks, setting traps.. maybe even find him actively editing the terrain around.
One of my favorite phrases i say when playing this mod with my friend is "Chill, bro, He's called the one who watches, not the one who attacks, he's completely fine"
A few suggestions I got for you: 1) Instead of having it just straight up vanish, make it have some kind of animation when disappearing or make it disappear if it’s out of your field of view so it doesn’t break immersion, otherwise you could give the player blindness or darkness to force the disappearance if they are intentionally trying to keep it there by looking at it for too long. 2) Similar to the stripping of logs, having it kill random creatures occasionally leaving some kinda blood like in the intro could be a sign that it’s around. 3) It isn’t always scary if these things are constantly showing up for seemingly no reason, so perhaps there should be some kind of condition for it to hunt/haunt you, kinda like how Phantoms only spawn/attack if you haven’t slept in a while (Perhaps the condition for him to stalk you is if you catch him in the middle of one of his killings or log stripping, after that he will become fixated on you, permanently, but perhaps if you want to undo this agro, you could give him some kind of offering and he will leave you alone again, unless you repeat the condition again) 4) I kind of like the rigid movements but I feel as if he should have somewhat natural/smooth idle/movement animations if he hasn’t noticed you for whatever reason, for example in the previous suggestion I mentioned he he may be killing other creatures or stripping logs, perhaps that’s when the smoother and more natural movements will apply, but when he does notice you, he stands completely still, only making fast and sudden movements before going completely still again (kinda like what he’s doing currently), so that it’s harder for you to spot him if you haven’t already seen him (Since there’s mostly no animation to catch your eyes) kinda like a stalking behaviour. 5) Something that might add to the spook factor is, perhaps when he’s nearby torches or certain light sources extinguish, and then re-ignite once he’s left. Anyway these are just suggestions, you don’t gotta add them if you don’t feel it fits 👍
Something that came to mind while hearing the delusions, Perhaps a item that will temporarily get rid of them. Like a dreamcatcher that over time durability gets worn down but prevents delusions from occurring around you (if held in off hand or in inventory) or reduces the sound and overlays something more peaceful to alert you that its a delusion. perhaps a potion like a bottle of warm milk (or something of said vein, warm milk came to mind as its a sleep Aid) that does the same thing but as a potion effect.
One suggestion is if he is within maybe like 30-40 blocks of you, he disables you from sleeping that night. This would be a really cool feature to make the player feel like there’s nothing they can do. Anyways, great video man!
would be cool if when you tried to sleep it would write "you are being watched" the same way that it says "there are monsters nearby" when you try to sleep and theres mobs near your bed
@xvgtjhfdkiojd4012 something like "its safer to be awake now" or "your not tired right now". If you do it enough times it should say "It wants you to sleep, it wants to see you at your most vulnerable, dont sleep, dont give it what it wants"
just a couple suggestions: 1. make it where toww leave claw marks on logs rather than stripping them. 2. also make it where dogs and cats react whenever toww is nearby. for example: whimpering, growling, and hissing. anyways, great mod bro. keep up the good work. 👍
The first thing you suggested is actually coming to the mod! I just haven't added it quite yet because I have to add in a clawed log for every single tree variant.
@pixelcoder here is an idea, when the one who watches is in a "rage" state he just crawls towards you and one of the best minecraft horror mod out there.
@pixelcoder this might be a dumb idea but I feel like hostile mobs should run away from the location where toww is and if it's only one mob it hunts it (bonus would be a noise that the toww gives when defeating a mob like a crunch of bones for a skeleton)
Idea: make it prioritize the player, but if it can’t find a player it will kill animals and drag them behind trees and stuff. Edit: make him drop items on the ground to lure the player
I've only ever watched videos on all the different horror mods/mobs and I always found it fun and a creepy twist to enhance Minecraft gameplay. I only ever played with some myself not too long ago, and The One Who Watches gave me the most fear. I feel a common misconception is that people think horror mods/mobs aren't scary, which I can understand, but when you go into it yourself, the silence and loneliness of Minecraft singleplayer really gets to you, especially when you know there are new monsters upon you. Back to TOWW, when I played a small modpack with it and a few other monsters, I felt the most dread and fear from it above all the others. Starting with mining in a big dark cave, I eventually saw it staring at me from afar and I felt so uncomfortable. I felt scared to look away and eventually I did, but right as I did so, I had the incredibly fast footsteps towards me and I whipped back to see nothing. Seconds later it jumps/runs down towards me from above and it had me SHAKING 😂 I enjoy getting a good scare and it made me laugh in the end, but that was one of the only times I genuinely felt pure terror and like I was in danger. Love the mod and I'd play it again and maybe with others to experience it again! I love seeing ideas people have in the comments and the previous one, and I like a lot of them! I think in general having it stalk more, use tactics to scare you or unsettle you, cause sounds and more to put you on edge, etc would be amazing. With enough to it, I confidently feel that this could be played purely alone without other mods and it would be a truly unsettling and scary experience. I can't wait to see where this all goes, great job!
Man i love the way he hunts the player, staring you from the distance and "slowly" approach, he directly don't hide if you see it, like playing with you, with your more primitive instinct of supervivence. If I suggest something, maybe can be if you stare him for a while, the player start to feel something breathing in your back, and play with that feel when you are in the dark.
I have some environmental ideas you could add for him: -Destroyed patches of a forest -Destroyed huts with scratch marks on the wood, half broken doors, destroyed flooring ect. (you'll probably need to make custom blocks.) -Scratch marks on patches of grass when he's near you. (Looking similary to paved grass but darker in the middle region.) -He could break torches when you are in caves and also make it darker around you when you see him (in the caves.) Thats some ideas.
Two things i feel like would add to the mod (if not already implemented) 1: the one who watches should be able to be out and about in the world while not interacting with you per se. like just in general being places or running places. if you get too close he’ll stop and stare at you, and if you get closer he’d run away or start to chase you. He can go around stripping wood from forests nearby, he can go around killing passive mobs in an attempt to starve you out of wherever you are hiding. he can just chill near a beach somewhere looking off at the sunset. i feel like it would be interesting and kinda funny to just come across him doing his own thing while exploring your worlds. obviously these are to be happening during the moments he’s not actively chasing/ playing with the player. 2: The one who watches should also have a few mob interactions. Like i said in the first point he could kill off passive mobs nearby (maybe even start to limit the passive mobs that spawn after while) in a kind of way to try and starve the player out of wherever they are hiding. Passive mobs should be able to see him while invisible, and whenever he gets close enough to them, they either stare at him until he leaves or runs away. Villagers should be excluded from the mobs that can see him but the one who watches should still target villagers. more deliberately though, as if you frequently interact with certain villages/villagers than the one who watches will start to target them as well. killing unguarded villagers when you’re just around the corner (so you can hear their deaths)
11:31 it’d be way more scary if he could open doors when he goes invisible and walks towards you. Imagine him disappearing, your door opening, and a few long seconds later he appears and kills you. And if you tries to run, he appears more quickly to chase you.
This atmosphere is absolutely incredible. It feels less like a monster and more like a haunting, like a real-life paranormal investigation video... You've outdone yourself this time
I remember this feeling when the original cave dweller released, fear. Since then, not many mods have given me that same anxiety and fear, but here you come killing my grandma by accident! Keep the good work up!
I've been watching the progress on this mod for awhile, I still find it a bit weird how he just appears and vanishes in an instant. 3:5610:5021:13 It almost feels like he's a glitch in the game or something, rather than an actual creature in the world. If that's the kind of thing you're going for, I get it. But I feel it could be a lot more immersive and scarier if his appearing/disappearing was a bit more natural. For example, you could make him crouch down before disappearing, or even crawling on the ground and moving out of sight so that it appears like he's trying to hide, trying not to be seen, like he's really stalking/studying you. If I recall correctly, he actually goes invisible and moves closer before appearing again, I just think it would make a lot more sense if this was more incorporated into his design. It reminds me of the Manducater from Scape and Run: Parasites; in the mod, it does something similar where it just goes invisible and re-appears which feels not only un-immersive but also feels pretty cheaty/unfair. (I get SRP is supposed to be hard, that's irrelevant to this comment so don't take that too seriously) Otherwise, it might be interesting to add a really brief sort-of after image as he phases out of existence. Right now, I just feel like it kind of breaks the immersion and makes it seem more like a cheap jumpscare. Unrelated but sort of related: I'm not saying you should get rid of the invisibility entirely. For example, the footsteps you hear behind you; I think that's a pretty well designed scare, it makes the player feel like they're going crazy, like maybe the monster they've been running from might not even be real, It's a delusion. Of course you don't have to listen to me, I'm simply suggesting and I don't mean to hate. Your mod has a lot of potential, I believe it's one of the best if not the best "horror" mod so far.
Remember, animating creatures with thin slender legs makes animation goofy :/ + literally every other dweller does that - Man from the fog, both cave dwellers, goatman, pretty much every mob. This one stands out so It's cool that it doesn't crawl
All these dweller mods are kinda trash. Apart from the original cave one who wasn't even intended to be a horror mod fully. It was supposed to be unsettling but not full on horror.
Suggestions: 1. Make it that if he disspawn there is a chance that if you move close to where he disspawned you get jumpscared. 2. And make it that when you look at it, its have a chance to smile. 3. Its leave behind animal corpses and you could hear when he is eating.
18:10 I think if you wanna implement this lore, giving him a wide smile would add so much while adding so little. Keep the large head so you can really stretch and bend his smile while keeping his eyes empty would be so maniac-tic and terrifying.
This is gonna be way better than the current one! Im really excited!! I Also Have Some Suggestions For TOWW 1. When TOWW Is Around 16-28 blocks away from you, you would hear a quiet/muffled breathing or heartbeats. 2. When TOWW appears near you, you will get a message that says "I Feel like i am being watched.." Or "I feel someone is following me.." 3. When TOWW is watching you, you will also get a effect called "Watched". The effect will make your vision a bit blurry "like not alot but a bit" and you will hear more sounds, hearbeats or breathing sounds. Hopefully You Like It!
This might be extremely hard to do,but I have an idea of what toww can do in water, sink to the bottom and when directly below the player, launch up through the water and grab(or attack) the player,if you decide to go with grab, toww can drag the player into the water and let them go when they have around 3 air bubbles left. Also an anti nerd pole feature would be nice. If they add a ceiling to portions of it,it would also be cool if toww climbed on that and then back up the nerd pole. Of course, you can always just not add this as I am a random person who knows nothing of coding or horror.
As a user who has been testing the mod for almost a month (obviously the latest non-Reborn version), I am quite happy that you constantly update and improve the mod, even giving it not only new visuals and sounds but also a completely new AI, as I said Before, only 15 days on my server were necessary to completely lose the fear of its previous version, since it did not take me long to determine how, why and in what direction it usually moves (something that I do not know if it is normal is that they appear up to three at a time, and I have screenshots of that), the thing is that its AI felt, after a while, a little stupid, it just tried to always follow a straight path towards the player, regardless of whether there was a in the middle wall and two steps away there were a pair of stairs, in the same way, it didn't take me long to lynch him along with another companion.
@pixelcoder you should add it to where it can essentially do a Lord X, where hands come out of its mouth in a manner that invokes pure terror, but make it similar to its random behaviors.
Good mod mate. Been watching this series to learn more of ToWW I'ma be honest as I been having far too good of luck against it mainly with few encounters besides the basic mining jump scares. Side Note: your farm is inefficient if you do anything besides pumpkins and melons due to how those plants grow, the optimal for most crops is a 9x9 plot with water in the center which nets you 80 of any crop that is plante din the ground (Potatoes, Carrots, Wheet, n Beets. Modde plants can also work with this method too) with one block of water seeing as one block fertilizes 4 blocks out from the source.
You know, I think it was the pizza delivery guy at the door and he forgot to take off his Halloween costume which was coincidently The One Who Watches.
suggestion, make him compatible with security craft(IF that is possible of course, not sure) make it so whenever watching through cameras he can appear somewhere in the radius, go invisible and teleport infront of the camera, not allowing you to see through it for 30 seconds
as someone who really enjoys horror movies and creepy stuff in general. i may be able to suggest some things: 1: the pressure, keeping the pressure that something may happen at any moment is KEY to anything being scary, if you just do a cheap jumpscare, the pressure is released and the player feels at ease for a moment after the jumpscare. WE DONT WANT THAT. so the actual part where he hunts the player should be delayed a bit but not TOO much that it feels boring. so that they player always feels tensed that something is gonna be after them so like just a few things here and there the first few days before he actually pops out and hunts the player. 2: avoid any sort of instrumental music at all cost. sound effects work great in setting the pressure in but not actual music 3: occasionally make it so that every ambient noises go silent for like a good 30 seconds like imagine being in the woods just chopping some trees and everything goes silent. the birds stop chirping, the crickets go silent. the trick is to just not do anything after the silence but only sometimes. sometimes the one who watches SHOULD pop out so that the player feels when its silent something is coming but just make it so that like 60% of the times he WONT pop out and the player is just left waiting and waiting while the pressure sets in. thats all. hope you read this and hope this helps!
Honestly really happy about how much this mod has progressed. TOWW felt a bit... basic, on first release. In this version though, he feels almost oddly *aware* by comparison. I do have one suggestion I'd like to give, another additional "tension boosting" effect: When there's a sufficient number of a single animal near the player, and TOWW is active nearby, he might kill one while dealing a very weak "hit" to the rest. It would make it seem like he's hunting your livestock. The hit he deals to all the others is just to cause them to enter the panic state though.
Can’t imagine Calvin’s reaction to this new update when he plays in his world 😂Great vid as always by the way! Maybe it’ll be a little less nerve wrecking if you tame a dog or cat to have as a companion, plus the occasional bark or meow breaks the silence/tension a bit 😅 Look forward to the next!
You could have it so that it watches where you are most often and has a chance of being there. Example: you are farming a ways away from your house, you then see him on a nearby hill. You run to your house open the door and see, HIM inside. It would be rare, but it would give a sense of constant fear.
great stuff!!❤❤ Maybe if he didn't just dissapear and only apeard in areas devoid of light while stalking would be better. If we put something absurd and distant from reality, it will be less and less scary. Humanity has the fear of being hunted, watched and stalked; you could make so The one who watched could detect where your bed is and stalk your home. also, indicators that you are being watched, and by not knowing where he is, you could play with the fear pf dread. (sorry, english is not my first language)
an ambush mechanic when you hear footsteps but from both behind you and infront of you. and rarely footsteps that stay playing on the character instead of being linked to the mob thinking hes being chased. if possible he could say the last 3 words back to you if hes near you and you cant see him like 'IDK someguy's manbear
I've got a mod idea. Lately I have wanted a Minecraft horror experience similar to the horror game silent breath. I like how the game has a lot of abandoned structures and graveyards and most of the creatures from what I've seen come at you but don't attack unless you are too loud because of the microphone utilization. We need silent breath mods and data packs. the data packs will put in the games structures and the mods will put in the game's creatures, flashlight mod, and a new simple voice chat microphone utilization mod. One key part is that the monsters run at you but despawn when they hit you to emulate the game mechanics of silent breath and they should only attack when you are being too loud ergo forcing you to be silent. Also, you would want to have a new world generation mod that emulates the game's never-ending forest feel and have it be adjustable with the world type settings when you go to create your world. Now if my computer could handle silent breath, I would just play the game instead of trying to recreate it in Minecraft. I would suggest watching a gameplay of silent breath to understand what I'm talking about.
I have a suggestion, maybe occasionally if the player goes a certain distance from their house a door they placed to one of their structures will be Open or Opened, and the same could be with chests too, the chest could be in the Open animation until the player gets close enough and it closes
Suggestion: Add a chance behavior of your creature faking out an all-out attack. So, basically, you're minding your own business and then the chase music starts to play with the creature right behind you, chasing you on all fours or something before disappearing as soon as it's in hitbox range.
Hello Pixel, i wanted to tell you something. I have been under alot of stress lately and watching your videos helps me. You are such an amazing youtuber. You are funny and cool. Wow, I can't believe that me making videos could help someone out so much. I am truly grateful for YOU and the rest of my fans that watch my content. And being someone's favorite youtuber is a massive title to hold on such a big platform. So thank you! ❤️❤️💕💕
@@pixelcoder no problem, keep up the great work and me and the rest of your fans will support you on your journey :) Anyways stay healthy and strong!!!
Perhaps you can make it so TOWW will fiddle with nearby blocks in a similar manner to how they strip wood. They could snap the strings in a loom and ruin it, or maybe smash an anvil and damage it. Maybe they could even put out campfires.
I think it would be super cool if when he moved closer he would do like a slow creepy head tilt then freeze in the position for like a couple seconds then drop down to do the "Exorcist Crawl" and just suddenly he's right in front of you! And then it should be a coin toss of if TOWW will attack or just stare at you. Also I think it would be really creepy if occasionally the monster and/or delusion would just slowly raise its hand and point at you. Like just picture it! You're alone in the cave its pitch black but suddenly you see TOWW just peeking around the corner, half its body visible the other half behind the wall. and after staring at it for what seems ages it just points at you! Shivers would be intense if that were me 😭 EDIT: Me saying it peeking around the corner give me another idea to have it LITERALLY peeking! OMG I can just picture you walking outside your house and turning to see its hands wrapped around the edge of the house and its head just staring at you but as soon as you look it disappears! That gives it an eerie personality and I would probably shit myself bit itd be so worth it for a share like that!
You should make it so that sometimes when you are in a large building with windows, a huge number of them will appear in a circle outside the building, but you can only see them through the glass. They probably shouldn’t be able to come inside for balancing reasons though
Some ideas: I know he can run in water, but ut still being a easy way to escape him with a boat, that's the main weakness of many of those horror mods, so if you could mafe him faster on water it would be alot scary. Most people woukd fell safe inside a house too, so there could be a window or door stare system, like he spawning infront of them an making some knock sound or a different face expression, like a creepy smile. I love your work and i'm not saying it lack resources, just some cool ideias that would personally scares me so much.
when he gets very close, you should make it so if he's standing in front of a window and staring at you through it, he does an animation where he slowly knocks on the window until it breaks and he disappears, tricking you into thinking he'll break through and kill you
Dumb little idea, maybe make it so that skinny boi can break lights or something like SRP mobs do, I just find it scary. Another idea, maybe make him able to break windows to get into houses or something like that. One last idea, maybe make it so in concealed areas where you can’t see him, he will make sort of high pitched screams to just scare the player, or other sounds
idea for when he chases you: Instead of chasing like a remodeled minecraft zombie, he takes one step at a time, slowly, while being in a hunched over pose. every step he takes travels around 3-5 blocks long. he slowly builds up speed with how quickly he makes a step. (theres a limit, at the max hes pretty much slightly over your running speed). since he steps with one foot at a time instead of using both of his legs simultaneously, you can juke him (try to imagine it lol), but he will NEVER stop chasing after you until you find shelter. (literally make a wall around you) after a while, he goes away.... For Now... evil laugh .........
The instantaneous appearing and disappearing really breaks immersion. Make him only do it when you aren't looking, it gives the player more of a reason to be paranoid.
Random Idea - What if there was... Multiple Ones who Watch? Just a random thought I had, and probably not a good one, but it would be cool to have multiple DIFFERENT monsters to evade in different ways, although the OWW would probably be the "most powerful" or most prominent.
The thing that gets me about this monster is that it reminds me of the demon from the mortuary assistant and that shit legit put the fear of god into me lol
I think its in the eerie lack of sound that can be scarier, as the goatman does exactly that and it isnt scary at all. Whispers when he isnt there could definitely catch me off guard tho
@@fakemetalbucketyeah to be honest but I thought it would be interesting to see it hunch backwards in the distance just to scream at the top of its lungs and you fearing it would be back.
As a suggestion, maybe toww could be closer to the windows, and ajust his height to match your window's height, so he could perfectly look at you. And congratulations for the creation of this mod, it is definately one of the bests out there!!! Keep up with the work❤
Personally I think the one who watches is the most unique mod there is and it's because I find him to be more creepy than perhaps terrifying and I would love yo keep it that way So I have some ideas for the mod: 1-maybe you can add a feature so he can crawl sometimes like the movie (The Rings) 2- maybe add a feature so he can scratch the windows 3-maybe add a feature so he can rotate his head like an owl Great job BTW I actually really like your work and what you have done with this mod keep up the good work king
you should make him so when you build a base, (aka a general area on where you place your bed) he would wait for you outside, always watching so you always get an uneasy feeling. And randomly when your just sleeping, you can hear whispering (i would delete minecraft if i saw that)
a cool but hard idea would be to give him fake jumpscares if you try to look at him so like if you were to turn around you get jumped but it wont take any health off the player and it would definently scare a new player and would be quite a surprise
Suggestions : Maybe there could be one new building like a cave or a house where TOWW 'live', players are always so curious when there is something new the player would enter the cave or the house which will make TOWW much more aggressive for a period of time TOWW can recognise the animals we trap to eat and could something kill one or two and leave the corps in the pen or in front of the player's house TOWW could sometimes break our farms leaving dead crops at the place he broke it TOWW can leave dead animals or villagers in forests
Dunno if anyone's ever mentioned it before, but all of the background noise going quiet is always unnerving by itself, due to that being a signal of something dangerous being nearby IRL, from what I've heard, as the local wildlife is also trying to avoid detection Imagine if you could code it to actively disable ambient noise, or even mob noises, when toww spawns in, would make it even more unsettling, as everything, including animals and other mobs just suddenly going dead silent would be immediate cause for alarm On an unrelated note, if you ever make it break blocks, dont go the wither route and just destroy everything in a box, too many "horror" and dweller mods do this, and it's just frustrating due to needing to patch up whatever was broken every single time Have it find a way in instead If there's a door or two, have it pathfind through them Glass windows? Break one or two blocks and climb through No discernable entrance? Break a few of the weaker blocks (wood, dirt, etc.) and make one Unable to reach even with making a new path? Keep its distance and simply watch, not much else can be done there I understand thats probably quite a bit to code though, so ultimately its all up to you to decide how you make it act Just figured I'd throw some ideas out, see if they catch your interest
did anyone see him while pixel was making the farm at night, he was by the house. so idea, the one who watches, when the bone snapping sound occurs there's the chance that he morphed into an animal, and there's minor discrepancies that signal its him, like eyes and colors swapping pixels.
idea: when TOWW is near make all nearby mobs vacate the area/simply stop spawning, kind of resembling how animals will go quiet when a predator is near
You should have it where you will find like wounded animals when he spawns, like with a scratch texture (not too gory) as if he hurt them and they escaped.
You should make him be able to crawl in 1 block tall spaces and crawl it would look sick😌 Also make him be able to creepily look through windows and put scratch marks in them😎
I have some suggestions for TOWW. I feel that he could have some sort of Particle effect when disappearing, and maybe make him leave some sort of mark on the ground when he was in a spot for a long period of time. also Im exited for when the mod is released!
I love the way the new update looks! After trying your mod for the first time I was surprised by just how well it was made in comparison to other minecraft horror mods. Quick question though: is the new update going to be available for minecraft 1.20.1? I see most of the other popular minecraft horror mods being ported to that version and I would love to try this one on the newest version!
honestly i think you should add an unbreakable block that’s just claw marks, because finding full stripped logs in the woods is kinda jarring i don’t know how hard it is to add a vine or ladder shaped block but if it’s easy, i think it would be nice instead of entire stripped logs
I would love to see this in bedrock ! I miss having Java and love it so much but this horror mod is so great!! I’m stuck with bedrock for now I know it a huge ask but I can dream can’t I lmao I appreciate the content regardless of weather it never is available in bedrock, thanks for the hard work 🙏🏻
I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR THIS AMAZING MOD! What if TOWW had a form called "TOWW Hunter" He would basically be walking behind a sheep, pig or some other animal in an attack position, but when the player looked or got too close to him he would lower his arms and look at the player and SMILE...and then he would hunt you instead of the animal, honestly... that would be scary. 💀

Also I have a small suggestion, when TOWW is standing near a window, invisible or not, it leaves a faint handprint or a spot like when you breathe close to glass. I thought that’d add just that one extra bit of eeriness
He should have a few new Whispering lines.
A couple suggestions I have are:
1. You Should Run
2. I'm not your friend
3. Shhhhh, It will be over soon
4. 1,2,3,4, come look at your door
5. I see you
6. Look around I'm watching you
I want to unshtrip the wood
Big W, love the bone snapping addition 🔥🔥🔥
@@Aleksi_KaidonovskiNah don’t make him too human, tbh he shouldn’t say anything imo
Hey Pixel, as a concept designer/writer for monster behaviour I have a couple suggestions to make your creation even more horrifying and immersive:
- Make it so that TOWW can identify where the player stays (a house for example) and the longer the player resides within that space the more active or aggressive TOWW becomes as it knows that you as the player is in a constant state of hiding thus allowing TOWW to become more persistent as if it knows you are afraid
- Block breaking and/or interference (and being able to interact with doors and trap doors) gives the player an almost constant feeling of vulnerability and paranoid (perhaps even playing sounds to pretend that it’s breaking the wall of a base)
- If there is a one block gap then TOWW could crawl through it in a way that makes it look disturbing almost as if it forces it’s body through the gap
- If you stare at TOWW through glass for a certain amount of time that block/pane of glass cracks or perhaps even break
- If TOWW is visible all mobs within 30-50 blocks of the player won’t spawn giving a very uneasy feeling especially due to the sudden change in atmosphere (the eerie silence and feeling of dread)
- Maybe from time-to-time TOWW will be on all four of its limbs instead of standing on its two legs making it both harder to spot and enable it to hide in 1 block spaces
Anyways these are just a couple ideas of mine :)
Bro cooked in only a few minutes-
+respect

This is one of the few actually good horror mods these days. Great vid, can't wait for TOWW Reborn to release!
Thanks!
this is one of the few not scary and just annoying "horror" mods
A few suggestions I got for you:
1) Instead of having it just straight up vanish, make it have some kind of animation when disappearing or make it disappear if it’s out of your field of view so it doesn’t break immersion, otherwise you could give the player blindness or darkness to force the disappearance if they are intentionally trying to keep it there by looking at it for too long.
2) Similar to the stripping of logs, having it kill random creatures occasionally leaving some kinda blood like in the intro could be a sign that it’s around.
3) It isn’t always scary if these things are constantly showing up for seemingly no reason, so perhaps there should be some kind of condition for it to hunt/haunt you, kinda like how Phantoms only spawn/attack if you haven’t slept in a while (Perhaps the condition for him to stalk you is if you catch him in the middle of one of his killings or log stripping, after that he will become fixated on you, permanently, but perhaps if you want to undo this agro, you could give him some kind of offering and he will leave you alone again, unless you repeat the condition again)
4) I kind of like the rigid movements but I feel as if he should have somewhat natural/smooth idle/movement animations if he hasn’t noticed you for whatever reason, for example in the previous suggestion I mentioned he he may be killing other creatures or stripping logs, perhaps that’s when the smoother and more natural movements will apply, but when he does notice you, he stands completely still, only making fast and sudden movements before going completely still again (kinda like what he’s doing currently), so that it’s harder for you to spot him if you haven’t already seen him (Since there’s mostly no animation to catch your eyes) kinda like a stalking behaviour.
5) Something that might add to the spook factor is, perhaps when he’s nearby torches or certain light sources extinguish, and then re-ignite once he’s left.
Anyway these are just suggestions, you don’t gotta add them if you don’t feel it fits 👍
he could make him walk behind blocks before he dissapears
@@BizarreCrow AMAZING SUGGESTIONS PPL PLEASE LIKE THIS COMMENT TO GET IT TO THE TOP
That actually is not too bad of an idea. I might consider that
One suggestion is if he is within maybe like 30-40 blocks of you, he disables you from sleeping that night. This would be a really cool feature to make the player feel like there’s nothing they can do. Anyways, great video man!
Good suggestion!
would be cool if when you tried to sleep it would write "you are being watched" the same way that it says "there are monsters nearby" when you try to sleep and theres mobs near your bed
@@pixelcoder what if it aslo says when you try to sleep: ''Someone is watching'' or something like that.
@xvgtjhfdkiojd4012 something like "its safer to be awake now" or "your not tired right now". If you do it enough times it should say "It wants you to sleep, it wants to see you at your most vulnerable, dont sleep, dont give it what it wants"
just a couple suggestions:
1. make it where toww leave claw marks on logs rather than stripping them.
2. also make it where dogs and cats react whenever toww is nearby. for example: whimpering, growling, and hissing.
anyways, great mod bro. keep up the good work.
@@someone-hw8qc honestly I feel like that could ruin a lot of the tension
@@The_Onion_Man true
@pixelcoder this might be a dumb idea but I feel like hostile mobs should run away from the location where toww is and if it's only one mob it hunts it (bonus would be a noise that the toww gives when defeating a mob like a crunch of bones for a skeleton)
I really think that this version is way more better. I can imagine the time you put in by programming it and redesigning it again. Respect king ❤
Thank you! I've spent so much time programming this thing it is crazy 😭. Thank you for noticing!
Idea: make it prioritize the player, but if it can’t find a player it will kill animals and drag them behind trees and stuff.
Edit: make him drop items on the ground to lure the player
It doesn't even eat them it's just to torture the player
I'm glad you have been enjoying my mod! And I am glad that you like the what you see for the new update so far.
I have some environmental ideas you could add for him:
-Destroyed patches of a forest
-Destroyed huts with scratch marks on the wood, half broken doors, destroyed flooring ect. (you'll probably need to make custom blocks.)
-Scratch marks on patches of grass when he's near you. (Looking similary to paved grass but darker in the middle region.)
-He could break torches when you are in caves and also make it darker around you when you see him (in the caves.)
Thats some ideas.
Two things i feel like would add to the mod (if not already implemented)
1: the one who watches should be able to be out and about in the world while not interacting with you per se. like just in general being places or running places. if you get too close he’ll stop and stare at you, and if you get closer he’d run away or start to chase you.
3:56 10:50 21:13
It almost feels like he's a glitch in the game or something, rather than an actual creature in the world.
(I get SRP is supposed to be hard, that's irrelevant to this comment so don't take that too seriously)
Otherwise, it might be interesting to add a really brief sort-of after image as he phases out of existence.
Right now, I just feel like it kind of breaks the immersion and makes it seem more like a cheap jumpscare.
Unrelated but sort of related:
I'm not saying you should get rid of the invisibility entirely.
Your mod has a lot of potential, I believe it's one of the best if not the best "horror" mod so far.
ngl this is a good suggestion
Suggestion:
Would be a cool idea to make it crawl on all fours, like siren head when it chases you
Remember, animating creatures with thin slender legs makes animation goofy :/ + literally every other dweller does that - Man from the fog, both cave dwellers, goatman, pretty much every mob. This one stands out so It's cool that it doesn't crawl
Me thinking that I have a good idea.
Then I realize that someone Said something very similar.
I have a suggestion, can you make the strongest dweller tier list or the scariest dweller
Deep dweller is probably the strongest and scariest one
All these dweller mods are kinda trash. Apart from the original cave one who wasn't even intended to be a horror mod fully.
It was supposed to be unsettling but not full on horror.
I can’t wait for you to release the full version! 😁 Will say if I come across him and I see him animate and bend his back all the way I’ma scream XD
Suggestions:

I Also Have Some Suggestions For TOWW
1. When TOWW Is Around 16-28 blocks away from you, you would hear a quiet/muffled breathing or heartbeats.
2. When TOWW appears near you, you will get a message that says "I Feel like i am being watched.." Or "I feel someone is following me.."
Modde plants can also work with this method too) with one block of water seeing as one block fertilizes 4 blocks out from the source.
the one who stalks when he meets the one who watches
You know, I think it was the pizza delivery guy at the door and he forgot to take off his Halloween costume which was coincidently The One Who Watches.
Would be funny if you stare at him long enough he has a chance to send a visible delusion dashing at you like flint lockwood as a jumpscare
suggestion, make him compatible with security craft(IF that is possible of course, not sure) make it so whenever watching through cameras he can appear somewhere in the radius, go invisible and teleport infront of the camera, not allowing you to see through it for 30 seconds
I remember watching the streams of the first makings of this lol, you've gone a long way
as someone who really enjoys horror movies and creepy stuff in general. i may be able to suggest some things:
1: the pressure, keeping the pressure that something may happen at any moment is KEY to anything being scary, if you just do a cheap jumpscare, the pressure is released and the player feels at ease for a moment after the jumpscare. WE DONT WANT THAT. so the actual part where he hunts the player should be delayed a bit but not TOO much that it feels boring. so that they player always feels tensed that something is gonna be after them so like just a few things here and there the first few days before he actually pops out and hunts the player.
2: avoid any sort of instrumental music at all cost. sound effects work great in setting the pressure in but not actual music
3: occasionally make it so that every ambient noises go silent for like a good 30 seconds like imagine being in the woods just chopping some trees and everything goes silent. the birds stop chirping, the crickets go silent. the trick is to just not do anything after the silence but only sometimes. sometimes the one who watches SHOULD pop out so that the player feels when its silent something is coming but just make it so that like 60% of the times he WONT pop out and the player is just left waiting and waiting while the pressure sets in.
thats all. hope you read this and hope this helps!
I like how I'm growing increasingly paranoid during the video with you
I know I was skeptical about TOWW getting a new texture but it’s actually good!
Honestly really happy about how much this mod has progressed. TOWW felt a bit... basic, on first release. In this version though, he feels almost oddly *aware* by comparison. I do have one suggestion I'd like to give, another additional "tension boosting" effect:
When there's a sufficient number of a single animal near the player, and TOWW is active nearby, he might kill one while dealing a very weak "hit" to the rest.
It would be rare, but it would give a sense of constant fear.
great stuff!!❤❤
Maybe if he didn't just dissapear and only apeard in areas devoid of light while stalking would be better.
Blood!? This is gonna be a good update
We all need your mod pack, with all of this animations, zombies, etc. That would be awesome
This mod makes me check the ceiling every time I enter a new room… in real life
an ambush mechanic when you hear footsteps but from both behind you and infront of you. and rarely footsteps that stay playing on the character instead of being linked to the mob thinking hes being chased. if possible he could say the last 3 words back to you if hes near you and you cant see him like 'IDK someguy's manbear

Perhaps you can make it so TOWW will fiddle with nearby blocks in a similar manner to how they strip wood.
They could snap the strings in a loom and ruin it, or maybe smash an anvil and damage it. Maybe they could even put out campfires.
Can't wait for the release
Shivers would be intense if that were me 😭
EDIT: Me saying it peeking around the corner give me another idea to have it LITERALLY peeking!
I doubt this would be possible but I would love to see the delusions and such cast a shadow, even with shaders.
Some ideas:
I know he can run in water, but ut still being a easy way to escape him with a boat, that's the main weakness of many of those horror mods, so if you could mafe him faster on water it would be alot scary.
One last idea, maybe make it so in concealed areas where you can’t see him, he will make sort of high pitched screams to just scare the player, or other sounds
idea for when he chases you:
Instead of chasing like a remodeled minecraft zombie, he takes one step at a time, slowly, while being in a hunched over pose. every step he takes travels around 3-5 blocks long. he slowly builds up speed with how quickly he makes a step. (theres a limit, at the max hes pretty much slightly over your running speed).
since he steps with one foot at a time instead of using both of his legs simultaneously, you can juke him (try to imagine it lol), but he will NEVER stop chasing after you until you find shelter. (literally make a wall around you)
after a while, he goes away.... For Now... evil laugh .........
The instantaneous appearing and disappearing really breaks immersion. Make him only do it when you aren't looking, it gives the player more of a reason to be paranoid.
The song you composed for him is really great imo, it reminds me of both The Thing and Halloween. Both great things to be compared
oh, thanks! But I didn't make a song for him, that was done during editing
A man getting scared and terrified of his own creation is top peak
Man who watches :he is a murder 🤓
The man:demigod 😐
The knocker:harasser 😒
Cave dewller:straved skinny guy with has clones 🥲
Ideas:
He will sometimes laugh in a way that sounds shriveled or raspy in a sense
Or make him whisper as well?
Keep up with the work❤
Personally I think the one who watches is the most unique mod there is and it's because I find him to be more creepy than perhaps terrifying and I would love yo keep it that way
So I have some ideas for the mod:
1-maybe you can add a feature so he can crawl sometimes like the movie (The Rings)
2- maybe add a feature so he can scratch the windows
3-maybe add a feature so he can rotate his head like an owl
Great job BTW I actually really like your work and what you have done with this mod keep up the good work king
I don't know if the ambience in the video is actually in the game but I think ambience would really add to the buildup, Great mod btw good luck.
you should make him so when you build a base, (aka a general area on where you place your bed) he would wait for you outside, always watching so you always get an uneasy feeling. And randomly when your just sleeping, you can hear whispering (i would delete minecraft if i saw that)
i felt like you were more yourself this episode. keep it up!!
This is amazing! Nice how it gives a good scare. Hard to make things that do that now.
Yo ! Nice video ! You’re the best horror mod dev
I can feel my blood vessels pumping after this video
16:42 Maybe theres a cave under you that was big enough for him to spawn inside it?
a cool but hard idea would be to give him fake jumpscares if you try to look at him so like if you were to turn around you get jumped but it wont take any health off the player and it would definently scare a new player and would be quite a surprise
Suggestions :
Maybe there could be one new building like a cave or a house where TOWW 'live', players are always so curious when there is something new the player would enter the cave or the house which will make TOWW much more aggressive for a period of time
TOWW can recognise the animals we trap to eat and could something kill one or two and leave the corps in the pen or in front of the player's house
TOWW could sometimes break our farms leaving dead crops at the place he broke it
TOWW can leave dead animals or villagers in forests
U need more subs for this
This videos is tempting me to make my own horror mod creature.
Tell your kid to stop shredding my trees smh
Dunno if anyone's ever mentioned it before, but all of the background noise going quiet is always unnerving by itself, due to that being a signal of something dangerous being nearby IRL, from what I've heard, as the local wildlife is also trying to avoid detection
Imagine if you could code it to actively disable ambient noise, or even mob noises, when toww spawns in, would make it even more unsettling, as everything, including animals and other mobs just suddenly going dead silent would be immediate cause for alarm
On an unrelated note, if you ever make it break blocks, dont go the wither route and just destroy everything in a box, too many "horror" and dweller mods do this, and it's just frustrating due to needing to patch up whatever was broken every single time
Have it find a way in instead
If there's a door or two, have it pathfind through them
Glass windows? Break one or two blocks and climb through
No discernable entrance? Break a few of the weaker blocks (wood, dirt, etc.) and make one
Unable to reach even with making a new path? Keep its distance and simply watch, not much else can be done there
I understand thats probably quite a bit to code though, so ultimately its all up to you to decide how you make it act
Just figured I'd throw some ideas out, see if they catch your interest

did anyone see him while pixel was making the farm at night, he was by the house. so idea, the one who watches, when the bone snapping sound occurs there's the chance that he morphed into an animal, and there's minor discrepancies that signal its him, like eyes and colors swapping pixels.
idea: when TOWW is near make all nearby mobs vacate the area/simply stop spawning, kind of resembling how animals will go quiet when a predator is near
Imagine how terrifying he'd be in the Nether.
You should have it where you will find like wounded animals when he spawns, like with a scratch texture (not too gory) as if he hurt them and they escaped.
You should make him be able to crawl in 1 block tall spaces and crawl it would look sick😌 Also make him be able to creepily look through windows and put scratch marks in them😎
This is amazing, even though it looks like SCP-096 on crack
The Goat Who Watches is back, the goat is back!🔥
I have some suggestions for TOWW. I feel that he could have some sort of Particle effect when disappearing, and maybe make him leave some sort of mark on the ground when he was in a spot for a long period of time.
also Im exited for when the mod is released!
Feature idea: You hear wood knocking or glass knocking and when you check you see his hand shift away from the door/window
Thanks! It will support that version eventually but not this update.
@@pixelcoderso will toww reborn only be on 1.19.2? Or are you gonna add it on 1.20.1 and possibly some other versions later?
Imagine him just standing near a tree rubbing his nails on it .... That would be so scary.
I imagined him with painted nails just filing his nails like drake or something 😭😭😭
Bro boutta become the one who watches kids@@fakemetalbucket
honestly i think you should add an unbreakable block that’s just claw marks, because finding full stripped logs in the woods is kinda jarring
i don’t know how hard it is to add a vine or ladder shaped block but if it’s easy, i think it would be nice instead of entire stripped logs
I would love to see this in bedrock ! I miss having Java and love it so much but this horror mod is so great!! I’m stuck with bedrock for now I know it a huge ask but I can dream can’t I lmao I appreciate the content regardless of weather it never is available in bedrock, thanks for the hard work 🙏🏻
this looks amazing
I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR THIS AMAZING MOD! What if TOWW had a form called "TOWW Hunter" He would basically be walking behind a sheep, pig or some other animal in an attack position, but when the player looked or got too close to him he would lower his arms and look at the player and SMILE...and then he would hunt you instead of the animal, honestly... that would be scary. 💀
Keep up the great work!
