Yes they do sound a little pink floydy at times but in their own right they also have their own unique sound. All of us are influenced by others in one way or another,
Saw them live in Dortmund in 1998. A very good Pink Floyd clone, but they developed an own sound. One of Germany´s best progbands as Eloy, Anyone´s Daughter, Krokodil, Nektar , Tangerine Dream, Shamall, Triumvirat etc. Some of the bands were founded in the seventies.
I love their music. RPWL may sound like Pink Floyd in their 90's, but I find nothing wrong with that. This piece has even parts which remind me of Manfred Mann's Roaring Silence, which I also like. I just hope they will be able to keep alive the prog spirit of the 70's and perpetuate it through the near future and maybe inspire some of the teenagers of today...
They have their own style combining that with some of the top progressive rock bands like Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, ELPish. Their lyrics deal with the mystical, global problems, escape to a higher plane and I find them to be fantastic:)
Whatever makes me shiver And creeping on my way I'm staying on my path In all I've ever seen And all that crossed my heart I never lost my love Standing on the mountain I searched all corners of your place Till the night came down I've seen your mothers and your fathers The world from where you came But never saw your home And finally we are what we are What we will ever be A life full of science and knowledge But only as far as we can see And after all we came a long way But still the game remains the same A new world in our hearts and in our dreams But still too far away You didn't search the heavens Burned down the poisoned hope You did it on your own You learned the crossing over Reached this higher place You've got it all to come Go, set out for other places you have to go down with the sun I won't be your shepherd I won't go along with you But I'm on your side Go and tell your heart: "my hardest path's about to come Walking on with pride
Merveilleux groupe allemand, une decouverte recente qui pour moi devient incontournable

Whatever makes me shiver
And creeping on my way
I'm staying on my path
In all I've ever seen
And all that crossed my heart
I never lost my love
Standing on the mountain
I searched all corners of your place
Till the night came down
I've seen your mothers and your fathers
The world from where you came
But never saw your home
And finally we are what we are
What we will ever be
A life full of science and knowledge
But only as far as we can see
And after all we came a long way
But still the game remains the same
A new world in our hearts and in our dreams
But still too far away
You didn't search the heavens
Burned down the poisoned hope
You did it on your own
You learned the crossing over
Reached this higher place
You've got it all to come
Go, set out for other places you have to go down with the sun
I won't be your shepherd
I won't go along with you
But I'm on your side
Go and tell your heart:
"my hardest path's about to come
Walking on with pride
G-R-E-A-T !!!!!!
maravilloso
I am compelled to agree with the previous comment, as usual.
Only great !!!!
I agree!!!.
This is a cheesy performance but RPWL are one of my fave bands ever and I would love, love to see them live. Didn't know Yogi plays the keys!
On this tour (my favourite RPWL album so far) Markus Jehle played keys mostly..., which I loved too, Yogi plays the "Manfred Mann" MINI-MOOG...
He plays keyboards on all RPWL albums from the start. Markus Jehle was brought in initially to cover live but now plays main keyboards.
So easy to hear the PFloyd in there!.........
Now three dislike this?.
FUCKING A!
1. Dream Theater
2. Pink Floyd
3. RPWL
...everything else is Kindergarten
Add in Big Big Train, Transatlantic and Steve Wilson
Sí, una banda genial pero, aparte de eso, parece que han cogido prestado el teme de Ayreon - Day Three: Pain (The Human Equation) 2004
