  • GRF Golf Head Coach Marcus shows how lag can be misinterpreted in golfing language to mean holding onto the golf club and restricting your release. By following along from last week's drill here: • The Toe Down Release E... and by troubleshooting with this week's drill this will naturally allow your body to lag the golf club without conscious effort to do so.

Marcus this is spot on as the previous was a bit tricky. I had a lesson last with Danny who helped. BTW - Flail and trail- an excellent motto for GRF😊

Well after watching many many of your videos over the last month and 3 range sessions... I got my yardage back! I was watching another teacher online that taught the square to square method and although I could hit the ball find I had no yardage unless I got lucky and was able to get the handle ahead of the ball so I didn't deloft the club. It wasn't working. I used to do this method of squaring the club that you teach and I was much stronger prior to the square to square method and was able to hit the ball great. But now that I am older the thing I was missing is the drop and pop. Thank you so much for all your teaching. This is going to be an awesome golf season because I got my swing and yardage back. So much fun to really compress the ball again! Keep up the great teaching. You need to come to Canada and teach!

Hi Marcus. Love your videos. 👍👍
Could you elaborate more on the two releases in another video : the one you promote (with rotation / supination) and these drills / feelings versus the one you present as bad with the wrist « break ». The latter is only bad if it occurs too early (flipping) and is presented as « the » good way by other instructors because it would be more stable and easier to time (square to square). A timing error in Square to square would mean a ball still in direction of target but more or less compressed and low/high… A timing error in what you described could lead to bad effects (hooks and slices).
And it seems that figures from 3D captures show that the left (lead) wrist is already moving to extension at impact and that nobodies holds the club like you demonstrate after impact. I understand you are presenting feels and motion during the swing is completely different but….
    🤔🤔🤔

Marcus , The problem with my swing was looking like the drill. My head was coming up too much.. Found out the weight was too much on my balls of my feet , my toes weren't able to lift , I was leaning my head forward at address . So I put weight back towards the heels , I was able to free up . Leave it to me to see a drill and have it happening on the course and not even know it .
I now have my arms club going away from me on backswing and my body pivot going opposite direction . Like a tug of rope . Cheers

Hi, I really benefitted from these drills, changed my path so that I can draw the ball starting left and back right ( I'm left sided in golf) for the first time. Still can't get the correct feeling for the driver, closing the face is altering my path .any advice on how to apply it to the driver.thanks, phenomenal content.

Can i ask, on a full swing, how would you start the take away, as with your 3/4 practice handle first then club head, but how do you transfer that into a proper take away I'd that makes any sense lol

Marcus , I am stuck shoulders are lifting the head up on the drill in the backswing and now it's doing it on the course . How do you stop the head lifting on the backswing ?

Lead side lateral flexion will help 👍
