I What with all the growth in Tampa Bay it is past time that this dam needs an upgrade and improvement, city of Tampa has had seasons of drought and needs to consider ways to generate more water as the ciry continues its growth going forward. There are several natural springs in the area that could be used as an additional water source that although they were closed because of an amoeba, they could be used for lawn and garden water source at a discounted rate as not consumable yet sufficient for farms, parks, city and home owners.
Yes. Orlando was nothing before DisneyWorld opened in 1970, along with I-75 expansion, and Tampa Intl Airport. All through the 60s Cape Canaveral was buzzing, Miami Bch hosted the Jackie Gleason Show before gentrification of art deco strip. Cocoa Bch teeming with hippies. Then came Disney.
wow I never heard about the bombings till now, born and raised here... You'd think they'd use that as propaganda somehow, but I guess it's too long ago. Very interesting history
Born and raised here too. Went swimming off the top of the dam. 14 15 and 16 feet gators on the bank of the water plant. Man came up in a boat and told us. Jumped off the rail again and noticed the 15 feet gator wasn't on the bank. Made it to shore and never jumped off and went swimming there again

Yes, Sanford was the big Central Florida city, not Orlando. The train also stopped at Oakland (now a bike trail.)
