Can't wait to see how this turns out. This is literally my ideal build, turbo k24 backed by cd009. Been trying to find swap kits and stuff but looks like I will be keeping tune with how your option goes.
Should also mention you can still get brand new CD009s for less than $2k whereas my plan is to get a used zf 6spd manual from and e46 or e90 that are used $2k but they're also stronger than the s2k trans and probably lighter than the cd009
Just some heads up, the BMW “dcct” dual clutch gearbox, is even heavier then that, considering it needs 9-10L oil and is massively big! Big in size, Did som measurements on that gearbox and it’s no way it will fit in the the tunnel, needs serious modifications too the chassis if someone wants a decent weight transfer.
Hopefully in a month or two. Really depends on when K Power releases their kit. I think the next video will be beginning the swap, probably going over the parts.
In terms of sequential wouldn't it make more sense to use the Quaife QBE69G, the ft86 specific gearbox cause then you could just use the k power trans mounts and bell housing adapter? It still holds up to 750 horsepower.
You would still be dealing with the issue of getting the shifter to line up. In my opinion I think that relocating the shifter is a tougher battle than fabricated new transmission mounts.
So what if... and hear me out here Toyota 86 chassis K24 engine CD009 transmission Toyota + Subaru + Honda + Nissan = Toyobaronsan and then stick the TRD STI Type R and Nismo badges on the car
Hey Oren! I have been following your channel for a while. Since starting your channel I have completely upgraded my suspension on my Miata. Now I am doing a K24 swap on my BRZ. Do you know anyone who wants a 7000 mile BRZ engine/transmission?
@@AT-fi9dj what’s the asking price? Also for the k24 swap how’s that going. I was looking at engines and if I do the k24 I was hoping to keep the stock transmission but idk I just need an engine. Would you be willing to do $1,300? I don’t want to feel like I’m haggling here just testing the waters.
So right now there’s two available: PURE auto and TF works. However, I’m waiting for K Power to drop their kit since it’s going to have the most R&D of any kit on the market.
I'm trying to find the smallest to fit with a k24 and go in an old toyota.. I've see adpter plates for all sorts of trans, for my power goals (lol basically stock + reliability) I'm after the smallest package so I don't have to cut anything, I can't weld for s#$t.
Only if you don’t modify the crash structure and if you keep all the emissions equipment that are compliant with the newest mod, aka if the car is from 2016 and the engine swap is from 2010 the car would have to meet the 2016 emissions standard.

TF Works. K series + CD009 or K series + ZF trans kits, single or dual plate clutches too.
Keep it up! I plan on doing the same exact build, so I’m very happy I can learn from you!
So excited this come together with the K24!

Only video of this caliber I’ve seen yet, well done and thank you!

Curious. What ever happened with the FA20 stroked?
The FA22?
I don’t even own an frs but this was interesting to watch 😂
Well if you can make the cd009 trans work that might be exactly what I do if not I have a spare s2k trans and 400 would be plenty of power tbh
If you have a spare S2000 transmission then that’s not a bad option.
When you mention Stock FRS/BRZ/86 Transmission.
Does this also covers the stock 6 speed automatic trans?
I am curious to see if its going to work out.
I cant wait to see this, when do you expect the next video will come out?

Good content.....I'll be watching
Thanks for the video😊
Any good automatic transmission suggestions?
Have you looked into the final drive/differential necessary for this change?
What about a Corvette DSG transaxle? 🤔
What is your best time at Buttonwillow so far?
In order for this do you have to change rwd to fwd?
Subscribed!
What gearbox oil were you running in your stock box?
Motul

Toyota 86 chassis
K24 engine
CD009 transmission
Toyota + Subaru + Honda + Nissan = Toyobaronsan
and then stick the TRD STI Type R and Nismo badges on the car
You can call it a Toyota chassis but Toyota gets the chassis from Subaru and is stamped Subaru in multiple locations.
@@RadDadisRad but it was co-developed by Toyota, Subaru had more to do with the engine
What about M4 DCT swap?
A BMW DCT GS7D36SG would be cool and different
I’m trying to keep this build simple but if, down the road, I want to take it to another level I will try this
Anyone running a gearbox from a diesel bmw
Could you recommend some strong automatic transmissions that can be mounted onto a k series? Preferably ones that can handle 700+hp
The M3/M4 dual clutch transmission should do the trick and provide very fast shifts
@@OrenHolzman Thanks I appreciate it.
8hp75 from ZF, it’s what the Giulia Quadrifoglio uses and also some BMWs.
Sounds like “k-weigh-f” or “kwayf”
I prefer queef

Where are you located?
For how much?
I spun a rod bearing in my frs after only 1 1/2 months of ownership and I need a new engine now because I’m in collage and currently can’t drive
@@professorzooom4580 I live in NY. I won’t charge a lot

so does the s2000 trans work with stock driveshaft
No, no transmission, including the OEM trans, will work with stock driveshaft since the K swap kit pushes the trans back about 4 inches.
@@OrenHolzman dient think of that, makes sense. thanks
What about automatics? They are the modern choice for circuit racing.
anyone knows where to get motor mounts for brz/frs kSWAP

@@OrenHolzman i see a complete kit tf works is that the one your taking about ?
Correct but you can probably hit them up for just the engine mounts.

Where's the swap progress?
As an S2000 owner, trans is glass, if the 86 trans is weaker is just trash :)
Is this swap street legal??
Depends on where your car is registered.
Only if you don’t modify the crash structure and if you keep all the emissions equipment that are compliant with the newest mod, aka if the car is from 2016 and the engine swap is from 2010 the car would have to meet the 2016 emissions standard.
