And now he's a multi-millionaire, fashion icon, multiple homes, multiple businesses including his own luxury line, two Grammy's, multiple gold and platinum hits, scored a movie AND a Louis Vuitton fashion show, has sold out arenas across the country and internationally, and even as he's matured so much, the essence of who he is in this interview is still the same. Looove that and love him.

I honestly think that Tyler, the Creator is a genius. He is incredibly intelligent. He's funny. He's a free-thinker. I don't really care about his music, to be honest, but he is a genius. He made it to the big time, being himself, not caring, at the age of only 18. I think he's absolutely insane, don't get me wrong, but as they say, there's a fine line between genius and insanity. This man is a genius. Simple as that.
If you don't see it, you need to look closer.

I remember when I first heard his music, I downloaded Goblin onto my Xbox and played it in the background while I played games. I paid no attention to it, paid no attention to each individual song or the lyrics, I just played Lost Planet 2 while listening to the music. I loved the production more than anything, I actually had no idea that he was talking about dark shit until after playing the album 24/7 for a month straight (literally. I had a lot of free time..). After listening to it for so long, I looked him up and researched him, this was the first video I saw. I remember I was blown away as to how he was speaking, I NEVER in my life heard a celebrity talk the way he talks. I never heard a famous person be so real. He spoke the same way I spoke, he wasn't fake, and I was, drawn and inspired by that. This guy is the Kurt Cobain of our generation, dude has no filter, he just says what's in his heart, that's what I like the most about him.

He's a deviant. I like deviants. He does what likes and he doesn't give a shit what you or me thinks. Deviants aren't always geniuses, what makes them different is their pure drive to do whatever they think is fun. I appreciate that, and thats something I can't hate. He's honest, and yes maybe some of his music are dumb, but he doesn't care, nor should you. He sings what he feels, and isn't that what music is suppose to be? Isn't music a reflection of what a human feels? If you don't agree to his music or style, then fuck off, nobody is forcing you to stay here and listen to what he has to say. Don't like whats on the radio? Switch the channel, turn it off. Like he said, he gets off of pissing people off, and by getting pissed at him, then he just accomplished his goal. Don't take him seriously, take the good and leave what you consider bad, just like everything else in this world. duhh

The only things that I can relate to him with me is the fact I hate parties, drugs and shit like that I just do my own thing I'm too busy skating cause I know how much drugs fuck with you and I just wanna concentrate on what I love. All my friends do drugs, only weed, but I choose not to purely because of the fact I don't know how I'll end up how bad it'll effect me. i'm rebellious then I'm not like I'll rebel against people that I don't like but people I do like I'll respect them, you respect me I respect you, I cant do what Tyler does cause he purely doesn't give a shit.

I vividly remember getting a facebook message from a kid I went to high school with about this new song “Yonkers” with a link to the video. we weren’t really friends but we talked occasionally about rap and I had not spoke with him since I graduated. This was before I even had a smart phone so I plugged my big ass studio headphones into my laptop and watched the video. I was 20 years old and that shit absolutely blew my mind, for the first time in awhile I was genuinely excited by a new artist and a new sound, also by digging into Tyler and Odd Future I came across a young Vince Staples and Shyne Coldchain Vol. 1 which I thought was amazing and I spread that shit around to my friends like it was the gospel.

Because he plays people and he knows it.
He'd clown on you if he had the chance.
You don't understand these people aren't clever, they just do things that isn't good but people seem to like.
Even if people don't like they'll keep making it.
      Sit down

there arnt many free rappers, this man is clearly being himself having fun and has a dream job, regular rappers don't do that, rappers don't go home jump on a trampoline and watch cartoon network, most are out trying to fuck bad bitches, make it rain in the club or shooting up a footlocker for the newest jordans, i hope more of our youth can focus on being themselves and prospering from it like he did, and if you don't like him play something else
