Airplane reminded me of early eighties pop when there was a lot of experimentation and musical freedom going on, and yes that synth at the end totally gave me weird eighties brit kids show vibes! Whistle was too euro-trance for me. I knew you were going to die listening to Alldaylong 💗 Jazz funk fusion great! AllDayLong is fantastic. Jiu wanted to try City Pop (acording to her 🙆♀️) and she got to finally. She also got inspired for this lyrics from a hug she received from Yoohyeon when she was feeling down. So... this song is the whole package.

When I went on twitter after the release, everyone was all about Whistle. Even my irl friend loves whistle the most. Not that it's a bad song (bc DC doesn't have bad songs period) but i agree that it just sounds quite plain n EDM heavy. But now I'm starting to like it more bc I'm getting used to it. It's full of songs with this specific type of retro. I know you usually react to groups MVs before doing album listens, so I hope Wonder Girls can make it into your rotation at some point.

Not an expert on music genres here, but I'd say that people calling songs like Alldaylong citypop isn't really a problem if that's how they know and understand it. As you said citypop is basically jazz fusion from a certain place and time. And though that might mean that anything not from that place and time isn't really citypop, if it's jazz fusion it's still going to sound and feel similar. And I can understand kpop fans being more familiar with the term citypop, even though it's confusing for you XD. Nonetheless everything under that umbrella sounds pretty amazing to me and when kpop does this type of genre I tend to really love it. I especially need Loona to do it, I think that would absolutely slap!

I always love the songs they put out normally, and as I said, I don't hate Whistle, I just don't vibe with it as much as the other songs. And it's okay to be honest and a good thing.
