- We ride the South Shore Line on the Return to Chicago Millennium Station this time it isn’t a head end cab ride because the front is closed so I had to stay at the assigned seat for the rest of the way.

And it also brought back memories. When I was in elementary school my dad and stepmom lived in Hyde Park. The only thing I knew about the South Shore Line was how often they told me it was the wrong train and not to get on it. 😀 After all these years I finally see what it’s like to ride it. 😂
I saw a wild Sasquatch just after the train left Ogden Dunes...
It is being reported that a Sasquatch herd is curious about the trains that carry molten metal between the foundries😮

They should build a second station in South Bend, where they are at right at about the 9:00 mark. There's a huge empty parking lot on the other side of the train there, it would be easier for more South Bend people to get to, and a more obvious marker to say "here's the train to Chicago," rather than making people drive all the way up to the airport to board.
There's also an abandoned ROW from Notre Dame Campus that extends to a point about a mile from this street corner, and if the line were built to the university, that's 12,000 students plus faculty and staff who could board there for the trip to Chicago. Besides the abandoned ROW, more than half this distance could be covered through empty lots and down the edge of a public park, so fewer than ten properties would have to be acquired... hmm...
Of course, the trip from South Bend to Chicago would only take about an hour on Amtrak, going there in the morning and returning in the evening.

Have they increased the speed limit East of Michigan City? I do not remember it going quite this fast?
How many people were on the train?
No offense, but I personally prefer the drivers view. This view puts me in a very bad mood (BTW - I live in Chicago and I still take the South Shore line to South Bend because my parents live there, but not all the time due to my demanding jobs) 😡🤣🙌
Who's playing their radio on this train!? They should be kicked off now!!!! I sure hope there won't be crimes on this railroad that plague CTA 24-7!!!!!!!!!
