I haven't been to Russia, but I've been living in Bulgaria. I'm from England originally. These countries still have their problems, they are not perfect, but its so much more relaxing, people are easy going, and they are that little bit kinder. You will probably love it.

Russia isn’t perfect, but it’s a strong country. I grew up there in the 90s when there was barely any food on the shelves and I had to “steal” food from the orphanage kitchen because I was starving. Now, the shelves are stocked and the market is booming. With all the crap Russia has gone through, I’d say it’s doing pretty well!

@@SamsRussianAdventures Hello Sam Yes I certainly would like to visit Russia but weirdly it was the Soviet totalitarian state that restricted contact now it is our own government. It really does look like life is very decent with free healthcare etc. compare this to the dreadful situation in the 1990’s I recall when people were selling individual domestic items to pay for food. Russia was being humiliated and our Russian teacher in Leningrad who showed us her bills and asked US how she could pay them.

G'day from Canada Sam. I watch your videos because, specifically, you dispel myths about Russia. Canada shares with Russia almost exclusively the Arctic. We are literally neighbours.
We have very different histories. I am interested in who my neighbours are. I like to visit via vlogs from Vladivostok to Novosibirsk to the Imperial capital StPb and all points in between, especially those less travelled roads. Place such as Spassk-Dalny, Yakutia, Norilsk yes and even Vladimir.
I have bee interested in Russia long before YT and the world stage we are witnessing unfold today.
Keep on keepin' on Sam, spreading the message that "people" the world over all have the same dreams, hopes and fears. They are all trying to build a better life for themselves and their children'.

Good video Sam, thank you. Yeah, Russia is ancient, infinitely complex, beautiful, the people are amazing, generous, they love to sing, and dance, and are very creative. I live in the US, and though I love America, there’s really no comparison. I mean, Russia somehow survived 275 years of Mongolian suzerainty, alone, never mind the thousands of additional years of history. You know, that’s our entire history. I studied Russia (language, history, culture, entrepreneurship, etc) at Berkeley, lived and worked on Sakhalin for a year when the Sov was collapsing, managing a business incubator and seed fund for Soros, and, well, I still feel like a noob. I love Russia, and I am trying hard to return. Thanks for doing what you do Sam.
When the Russians with the Serbs and other Slavs defeated Cyrus the Great, then Darius, fought with Alexander the Great, although they did not defeat him, but did not submit, but made peace. This is not in the official history, but grandfathers remember and pass on these stories to their grandchildren from generation to generation. America is a great country and may peace and order come. You need a good leader, if I were you, I would choose without a party leader. And send both parties to retirement :)

Sam, I’ve learned to not listen to or care what they say about me and the way I live.
I am American and my wife and I travel to and spend a lot of time in Mexico. We’ve been there a couple dozen times. Of course, we hear all negative stuff from friends, family, and co-workers about why we travel there. They think it’s dangerous and third world like - very ignorant to what it’s really like. So we go to Playa del Carmen and don’t care what people think or say.
Why did I tell you that story? I personally respect the fact that you love Russia even if you get criticized in the comments. Personally, I wouldn’t want to live there but am happy for you that you enjoy and truly love Russia. I love the interaction with locals. I love when you drive around with the local radio station on. I actually locate many places you visit on Google Maps to get an even better idea of the land.
I enjoy these videos and have learned a lot from them. Keep it going and pay no mind to the idiotic comments.

To teach cat to go to right place, make sure you have a lot of litter boxes and they are clean. Once she start to go only to litter box, start to remove some boxes one by one and in the end just leave enough (if you have 2 story house 1 on each floor). Feral cats can take sometimes to use to it, but they will. I got 3 - we got no accidents here lol

Yes. It's an interesting story. His father came to the USSR in the 80's and met a his mum, who is Russian and they moved back to Yemen. My friend came back to Russia when he was 18 and his parents and brother stayed there in Yemen.

I'm surprised it wasn't blocked for me yet, because the copyright strike is probably for the Amy Winehouse song that played when you were joking around with the "oligarch's wife." If you chop that section out, you probably won't have problems.
On your other topic, well, I've certainly noted before how attractive the women of Vladimir are, but that's as far as it goes. There's attractive women everywhere, including the Midwest USA, where I live, it's just that the Russian Hottie Quotient is so high. As I've probably said before, I experienced this in the USA, when a large number of Russian immigrants moved into my building. It was as if we'd been invaded by a spaceship from Planet Hottie. "Send more!" was my immediate request. ;D And then there's the accents . . .
Everyone outside Russia should understand that Russia is a major country. The World Bank just listed the Russian economy as the 4th largest in the world by Purchasing Power Parity. It's not like Russian women are desperate to escape, especially from major cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg, two of the world's most beautiful, with enough culture and activities to fill a lifetime. But I knew all this long before I started watching Western ex=pats like yourself, thanks to years of watching Sergey Baklykox, RussianPlus, Eli, Svetlana, and most recently, Sasha Meets Russia. And I'm furious that UA-cam deleted her channel, most likely for the positive spin she gave to the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. Why it gotta be like that? So thanks for being one of my fave ex-pat vloggers. You show why people from the West can become enchanted with Russia and want to move there. Why? Because it's a great place with great people.

Sam I think that’s the problem. Lots of people think Russian 🇷🇺 woman want to jump into bed with foreign men. All of them are really friendly people & sometimes the image given in the west is so wrong. It’s stuck from the 90s after the USSR collapsed. It’s a shame that impression is still there.

I like Dutch city bikes as well. I got a Batavus, apparently in Holland (with older people) they used to have the nickname of ‘Hallelujah bikes’ as the hands are up so high like praising in a gospel church. A Dutch in-joke told to me by a Dutch guy at the local car auction.

BTW, my wife is half Russian, born in NZ, like me, and her mother who is Russian lives here in NZ - she left Russia in the 90's and still has a negative view of Russia, something we try and tell her, is based on life 21+ years ago, it is not the same country today. This is similar to one of the posts below, but shows, people do hold views, some valid, although valid to a time when things were possibly tough and difficult, but thankfully Mr Putin has changed that, and Russia with its long history, is a country more and more people across Earth admire and are considering moving to. I very much enjoy your videos. But I have an attention problem and I don't so often watch them when they're 15-20 minutes long. I wish that they were 5 to 8 minutes long with the option of clicking on a link to see the full video. But I realize I may be the only one that has said that so just ignore me.
