Pretty accurate. Good news is once you leave you realise it's all a bubble and industry (client side) have normal relationship with work!
@@erinafenix yep.i know it as i went the opposite way (from industry to consulting) and its been eye opening
@@zzFishstick it’s definitely more of a challenge in some ways, but I know many people who had a similar trajectory to yours and are happy with the new environment. Hope it’s going well for you !
The fact that people drop like flies kinda makes sense when you see there’s a structure where there’s more staff than seniors and more seniors than managers, more managers than partners. At some point most of us fall off the pyramid! I exited big 4 at senior
Tbh at my company NO ONE is leaving atm, they’re considering firing/performance planning people lol because we don’t have work
I see a lot of these videos from recent grad's titled 'day in my life of big 4 consulting', followed by 'I quite my 6-figure consulting job' 6-12 months later. Consulting is difficult, but the grass is not always greener. There is a reason why MBB and top firms receive 1million+ applications a year. I think most grad's who get a spot, don't really know what to expect, and also do not understand the opportunity they have in front of them. My advice: stick it out, it will set you up for life. Good luck.
Nice content. Need more for Canadian consultants about salaries etc
Thank you ! That’s a great idea, I have quite a bit of info about the Canadian experience. What other topics, Canada centric, you’d like to know about besides the salaries ?

How long do you think it will be before Chat GPT takes over and delivers all of these financial reports?
I think a huge part will be automated in around 10 years. But then again in the 90’s they thought we’d have flying cars by now 🤔
although depart from the content, you are beautiful!!!
Thank you, very kind of you :) ! I’m trying to see which videos are more useful. Please let me know what content you’ve liked before that you feel I departed from, would be very useful for me to understand :)!
Where are people running to? What is the normal next step after the Big 4?
Hi, good question ! Most frequently people switch to “industry”, a large company that may have been a client before, where the work hours are very reasonable and pay/benefits cushy. Surprisingly, a lot of people also bounce around different big 4s to get higher pay/ get promoted. MBB/IB is generally much harder to break into but is a coveted option, having consulting experience makes it easier for sure. I’m posting a video with more details about this tomorrow :)
@@user-xy4ff5yp7b Hi, sorry I was a bit late on the video, but it is out now with more details on exit options :)
lol this a good way to get rid of the competition
True ! However mostly in very cutthroat departments- M&A, managerial etc
Outside of that, every department is always on the look out for talent. This was just a catchy video title I made to address a common question newcomers have - why is the turnover so high. I made quite a bit of videos about the positives. Even in this one, I mention several times that I’m still working at Big 4 and the pros for me outweigh the cons :p
What are the common exit opportunities? Are people moving to the big 3 MBB/ investment banking.
I know of quite a few people that made the switch from B4 to MBB. Moving into IB seems less common, especially from management consulting.

What industry or role do you work forin KPMG? Is the situation similar for tech roles in big 4 companies.
Hi, I’m in a tech department myself (risk consulting), and generously it’s much better in tech than in other departments across big 4’s. Hope that helps !
Do you think it’s worth it
There's definitely pros and cons to it. For me, the pros outweigh the cons, but it really depends on the department you end up in. I've been lucky to be with really supportive team, which held me over these 3 years!
How to getting into consulting? Any help
And also love from india
This is great question ! I’ll be coming out with a detailed video soon, but for now, in short - focus on a specific skill set you have - tech, finance, accounting, sales- get experience under your belt and then apply for ANY consultant position that suits your skillet. The moment your foot is in the door, it is MUCH easier to navigate across diffident consulting positions. Hope that helps, you got this :)!

I will start my first job in a big 4 next month, I've been reading lots of negative things about big 4. It's getting me so nervous, I hope it's gonna be okay
For sure, don’t worry ! I’ve made so many videos before about all my good experiences and how to navigate the consulting world, but people like to focus on polarities. That’s why a video about quitting is getting more views. You’ll be fine and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and make good friends. I’ll be coming next week with a video on how to survive and thrive within your first year at a big 4 so stay tuned :)!
@@erinafenix I'll be looking forward to the video, thank you!
