It really is. 20 gallons is about $100 and that gets me about 110-120 miles. Depending on conditions and what I'm doing. I have a couple tuna belts but I usually don't take one unless Laurie is going. I am going to start keeping one on the boat in case I hook one of the bigger models. Thanks for the comment ;)
I was wondering if anybody was going to catch that LOL. I have a extra battery I hook it up to in the house. I'll plan every trip using the latest info. Add way points of water temp, color & reports. Then log a route. If I had to do it on the boat it would never get done. It helped me get really good at using all the features of the GPS and navigation. I spent so many hours doing waypoints, routes, tracks, goto, measure, and all the other features. Over & over hundreds of times, the different ways they could be done.so it's second nature. That way when I'm on the water I don' have to F with it. Got a extra power cord, a coed with a fuse and battery clamps, put them together and bam, IT WORKED. I looked for videos how to plug it in to the wall and couldn't really find anything. There was a company who made a cord but units were getting fried so quit selling them. I will do a video this week on how to hook it up at home and get a free fish finder every 2 years.
@@TheC-DoryandLaurie that's fantastic! I just found mine yesterday. It's a 2004 22 ft C Dory Cruiser. Pick it up next week. Can't wait!!! I have been wanting one forever but they sell so quickly here on the East Coast. Best wishes and thanks for the response. 👍
That is gonna be a awesome boat. I'm excited for you. I would go broke dialing in one of those. Lmnsturn@yahoo.com is my email, send me some pics when you get it.@@Captain_Clark_CDoryAdventures
I use the C-Map chart. The west coast & baja latest one, I think It's REVEAL or MAX +. Then you can update it every year. It makes it easy to find even very small spots. If you get one and need help dialing it in I'd be happy to help.
Nice catch
That must be an economical rig to run. Still amazed when people stab the rod in their gut, instead of a rod receiver belt.

Nice solo effort! How do you get your Simrad to work off the boat? Is it connected to a laptop?
