they're not "ambient pedals". it's a reverb and delay capable of making ambient sounds, been around forever.... heard of pink floyd....or is that great grampa riffs and leads
It's a great pedal- I have the AT+, the independent boost on it is what makes it so good to me, it works great with any drive- not just the AT drive. What I really like about it is that it doesn't add much volume- it adds sustain and saturation, which is what I really want from a solo boost. That said- the Alairex HALO or HALO Jr. imo beats it when it comes to the drive side. The perfect solution is to run the AT + and the HALO jr. so you can use the boost from the AT+ to hit the HALO for solos. That's what I've ended up doing. The AT is a JCM 800 though- not a Plexi technically- but really it is. It's a Plexi with a master volume added to it. Idk know what amp Alairex was trying to emulate with the HALO- it stands for Harmonic, amp, Like, Overdrive. But he never said what amp. They're no longer made but you can still find them in the secondhand market- usually around 200 bucks. They're worth every penny though- the HALO senior runs around 300 but it's dual channel and adds a bunch of different clipping options and stuff. It's the best drive I've found so far- and I own all the JHS drives, most the Wampler drives, etc., etc.- none of them beat the Alairex HALO imo.
testing ambient pedals with some dad rock riffs and leads....

I’ve already got the Caverns, buy you’ve convinced me that I need a lap steel
Just got a batty Caverns (I'm a big Keeley fan). That shimmer is so rad! Thanks for the run down.
Dude! Y'all made that fun, and you worked some killer sounds outta that puppy! But when you pulled out the lap steel... I'M BUYING IT! NUFF SAID! ✊🏾
Great vid
Reminds me of the Earthquaker Astral Destiny which has become my favorite pedal recently. I’d really like to try these!
The lap steel is badass with those effects!!
Yeah I can see that. I have the Earthquaker Afterneath, it’s also similar, but does way crazier verbs.
Ok, now I need to buy more pedals!
So THATS why I cant play guitar!!!….. or forgot to take the SUCK out!!!😂😂
Those pedals sound like a dreamscape!!!!
Yeah it’s super important to take the suck out! 😂😂😂
And yeah for sure. I plan on using them for sound design in the very near future.
JHS @ is a blowtorch, love the Parallax too....spacey.
Yeah the @ is good. It's rather smooth. I'm thinking we are gonna have to do a Marshall in a box pedal shootout soon.
@@rookhouserecording Keeley Filaments and El Rey Dorado are my favorite plexi pedals , this week anyway...great show, dig the lap-steel pickin'..

@@foghornleghorn2975thanks for the awesome words! Cheers! 🤘🏻
Seriously, who needs that shimmer sound? It's so cheezy and horrible.
