I had these skates and they did me good for a year until my feet grew out of them. I loved these skates, just my biggest problem was that one of the toe stops fell out, and the chamber for the screw was damaged so it could never screw back in.( Instead i j-b welded it in 😂😬)They were great skates to have before I got my moxis! 4.5/5 Stars ⭐️
INDY JAMMA JONES no roller derby for roller derby and I love roller derby so much it is my favorite sport skating is so important to me I try to learn stuff every single day
I feel you! The Parks on my city are far from home so I haven't been skating in a while and I miss it so badly and I don't have anywhere to skate near home... And the streets of the city have too many cars and up and down streets, so it's impossible for a beginner like me :(
My school just allowed roller skating and skateboarding on the quad "so long as all wheels are in the ground". Can't wait to pull out my derby skates and get some exercise in at lunch!
Yeah my school has a roller*blading* unit. It’s not roller skating, but it’s still fun and is what got me into roller skating. Though I only started 2 weeks ago and I’m still using the roller skates they say are horrible, I’m still enjoying it.
I got the halo impalas!! They are amazing! ! The boot broke in around 2 weeks in, the wheels are great, the stoppers are good, I've only had them around 4 months, and had no problems. I couldn't decide between the halo or the leopard print, so i got both! ! For the price, they are really good.
@@kathycormiersuntanningrebe7870 hi Kath, they are a 58mm and 82A, pretty much a good hybrid for outside and in. I changed my wheels to a 93A, i found that the 82A were a bit too grippy on the rink, but..... personal preference of course. The 82A are really nice to ride on pavement if outdoor is more of what you like doing.❤ but they are still good for rink skating too.
Those were the exact skates I bought for my learner/first pair. They are still great, the only thing I don’t like is the fact they get dirty fast, and the stopper comes lose kinda often. But overall great skates!
Use thread lock on the stoppers. It’s a type of glue used to stop bolts coming undone through vibration. You can also use plumbing PTFE tape. Cheap to buy from most hardware stores
35nee nail varnish will work but is brittle when dry and still allows the bolt to work loose. 37 years of skating has taught me a trick or two about skate maintenance 😎👍
I love these skates. I have had them for a little over a year. I skated the hell out of them in the streets and in the parks. The toestops are a little hard but still good. I always replace them with the suregrip stoppers. My stoppers have never loosened either nor fell out. I have jumped off stairs on these and they never done me wrong. Definitely worth getting if you’re on a budget. I feel like these skates can last a very long time. I love my candi grl skates 💕
I recently got those same skates! I do not know how to skate but I wanted to start after binge watching your channel. I like these skates a lot but I find it hard to bend my knees with them laced all the way up...so I don't. I had an issue with my left skate rolling to the right, so my husband adjusted it for me. The toe stops bounce when I put it down. I may look in to changing them since you also found issues with them. But I do love them. They are my 1st pair of skates ever and I'm 37.
You just need to wear them in, I’m a figure skater and at first my ice skates were incredibly stiff but after a few months of skating you’ll know just how to bend your legs perfectly and the shoe will be a lot more worn and will allow it
I got my 1st skates At a thrift store And I still have them I've had them for almost 5 years And they look brand new And I play with with them everyday
So glad you did this review. My daughter watches all your videos and is a big fan. She wants some moxi skates but I told her she had to stop growing first. So we got her these skates because they're what I have and I love them. We skate inside because we live in a rural area, and they work great in the rink also!
I got my Candi Girl skates a few months ago and I love them! It was the first pair of skates I ever tried on and I knew that I should test to see if I liked it, could actually do it, then get good at it before an upgraded pair. My goal is to be able to upgrade to some Moxi by this summer, but I have told myself that I need to earn it! If you are on a budget or just starting out... GET THESE MEOW!
How did your candi girl skates last? Are they still structurally sound? I'm trying to decide between candi girl skates, impalas, beach bunnies and lollies, but I've seen many people have said their impalas don't last long, the beach bunnies are okay when it comes to price but with the shipping for Europe they're too expensive and same goes for the lollies. If the candi girls are good enough, then I don't have a reason to try to save up for another 6 months to buy anything moxi. You'd really help me choose :)
Infernal Cookie I’ve only had my candi girls for a few months so this isn’t exactly what your looking for but they are great. I’ve. Een using them for roller derby and I don’t feel like they’re falling apart or anything! The only problem I have with them is the toe stop becoming loose but it only fell of one time. Besides that these work good until you can get better skates. I hope that helped a bit :) also I know a few people that have had them for years and they love them
@@lisztomania1317 it did help, thank you so much! ❤️ Now I have to find someone that ships to my country without the shipping cost being double the price of the shoe:/
Infernal Cookie I literally feel the same way , I almost bought the impalas . I’m going to Dicks Sporting Goods today for the Candi girl. I want to skate outdoors and learn dance moves , I hope they last atleast six months .
I’m 13 and just got my first job and am saving up for beach bunny’s!!!! I’m so excited cos I have a rlly good rink near me too I love your channel so much it’s so helpful ilysm ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

For my wide feeted ladies, I saved up and bought a pair of chaya lifestyle skates as the rio rollers and beach bunnies I have tried on were cripplingly narrow. They range from 80 GBP (which is about 100 dollars I think) to 125 GBP (140-150 dollars? Ish), and are wide enough for my spade feet, stiff booted, heat mouldable and I have only had to replace the bearings from the original factory setup, the octo wheels they came with are great and have lasted me four months already. Moxi's are just too expensive for me right now, especially as a beginner and a university student, and seeing EVERYONE I admire on Moxi's and nothing else is super depressing, so thanks for this video Indy. The "best beginner skates" being over 300 pounds walls out a lot of starting skaters who just cannot afford to dump a month's rent (and groceries on shipping and tax) into a new hobby. I would love to see more video's like this on this channel, as loads of lower price skates have their own merits and when learning, its safer to trash 100 quid of skate than 300 quid of skate, and I'm sure I don't just speak for myself when I say I T.R.A.S.H my skates :'D
Thaaaank yoooou! I have bunions and am a beginner, so finding reviews on width and moldability was super important. Plus, I'm in Germany where quads just aren't as popular and I don't really have the option of going to a store to try on. After months of comparing, I narrowed it down to Chaya and Candi Girl (Rio's are clearly too narrow and have plastic plates anyways).
Oh, any suggestion on sizing? Should I go a size up? I'm American, I'm a 7.5 but often have to buy size 8....which is roughly a 39 in EU --but shoes I've bought here I usually have to wear a thick sock. Still though, I'm wondering if I should buy size 40 to be safe
I just bought these at the beginning of the month. I used to skate the rinks every Friday or Saturday when I was in 6-8th grade and always wanted my own pair of skates. I’m 32 now and I’m relearning everything! And some things I never knew. My two older girls wanted to learn to skate too so I got them some adjustable candi girl skates. These are very narrow so DO buy a size up. The wheels are great, the laces are great, they are very comfortable once you get them on and move around. The tongue is a bit weird because it’s so large but once the skate is on it’s not too bad. For the price, you really can’t beat this! Plus, you can invest in some higher quality safety gear too.
I bought a pair of candi Girl skates. I thought that they were great for the price but they were too tight for me because i have wide feet. I like the boardwalk skates better.
I'm an ice skater without any ice because of Covid. 😭 I just ordered these so I can at least keep moving and skating on a circle. I'm super excited to try them out.
Yes! Been riding the holographic ones a bit now and they are great so far! The wheels on the Candi girl are higher quality but the plates and boot on the impala worked well for the mile or so that I skated in them.
i don’t know if my opinion matters, but ive been watching a lot of reviews on both since i had the same question- and i’d personally go with the candi girl skates. i’ve noticed a huge boot separation problem with the impalas. i’ve seen some people who’s boot started to come off after only two months of using them!!! and with candi girl i’ve seen reviews where people have had them for years and they work great! so candi girl all the way
I love my Candi girls. I got them for my birthday almost a year ago, and I still skate in them almost every day. Skating is my favourite thing in the whole world because of you Indy!
I wish you uploaded this a week ago before I had bought my own pair. I have wider feet and no matter how much I loosened the skates, they would continue to hurt. I tried to skate in them but the pain became unbearable after 2 minutes and I took them off. My feet were hurting and bruised at the ball of them. If you're thinking of purchasing these skates, always factor in how narrow they are so you can avoid being hurt like I was. Still good skates otherwise 😊
@@INDYJAMMAJONES I do believe with time they would've broken in and molded well with my feet, but because they were quite stiff on the sides I felt like it wouldn't happen anytime soon and ended up sending them back and just save up for a pair of Moxi Beach Bunnies. I do really believe for anyone willing to break them in with time then they would be absolutely perfect
I had to break in my Moxie beach Bunnies, the biggest part I did in 48 hours. I don't have a rink with an oven for my skates, but I found skating short distances in the sunlight did just as good, they are so comfortable on my feet now. For whatever reason, I am the opposite of what Indy says. To get 78A for bumpy rough surfaces, I seem to skate better in the harder wheels on rough pavements.
So I have bunions (aka really painful bones jutting out that make my feet v wide) and I just laced my candee’s differently and it made a w o r l d of difference. I suggest looking up different ways to lace your skates so you can have more room where you need it!
These are my first real skates! I've always loved roller skating and I recently fell back in love with it due to your planet roller skate videos. It's awesome to see you review a more affordable brand! Unfortunately within 10 minutes of putting mine on I broke my tailbone pretty bad...hasn't stopped my enthusiasm though!
@@esvete844 get a coach! no really, they will keep you safe. for the $30 to $50 per half hour, you will learn a lot and avoid a ton of falls. the rollr rink is always your safest bet too. once you feel comforable, you can get out on the street, sidewalks
@@jmdenison woah thank u for that sound advice! im still teetering between teaching myself (like i did w/ a skateboard) and going to a roller rink. leaning more towards rink now though :)
With EVERYTHING online this was the research that helped me make my final choice. Thankyou :) I’m a cyclist looking to commute more on skates. Could you make a video about commuting vs hobby?
"Skates on a budget, only $99 dollars" Me: "I've never spent $100 on anything.. that's so expensive." *Cries in poor* 😭 Edit: Thanks for 100 likes guys. Never have I felt this liked lmao
Omg I know I just bought the impala skates yesterday and I thought they were rly expensive and then I watched their review on them saying they were “cheaper skates” like huh 😫
I have had the candi girl skates now for a few weeks and, for my first pair of roller skates, I'd say they are a really great purchase! I absolutely love the color and style they come in and the translucent outdoor wheels. In the future, I would think about purchasing a different toe stop, but for now, the one that they came with will do just fine! Also if you are thinking of wearing these outside a lot, I would recommend you look into purchasing a toe cover to preserve the suede on the toes of your skates! I also love their affordability and I haven't found any problems with them so far!
Syrollesse they hold up pretty well honestly! they last so much longer than any jackson boot i’ve had. i skate a lot so i get new boots every 12-18 months though 😭
@@lovemae7540 I don't skate that often and I already had my first edeas for at least half a year and they're good as new still. But atm not using them obviously because rinks are shut. Gdi I miss ice skating so much that I finally gave into getting roller skates even though it's not the same but it's similar
Thanks for the great review! Btw how are the sidewalks and streets so smooth over by you? Where I live, the sidewalks are all busted up and cracked or made with varying materials including lots of old stone embeddings- just great to stumble on. But I’ve been using your technique you taught in your other videos on “street feet” and how to skate over/around obstacles. Nevertheless, I wish there were some smooth pavement around here like in your vid. Sometimes I feel like I’m skating on the surface of the himalayas here!
After moving from CA to the Midwest I can testify that the roads and sidewalks, pathways here are in rotten shape because of winters...it was much smoother and easier in Cali.
i have been skating the Carlin berry candy girl skates for about 6 months now. very good quality and they defiantly last. the toe stop shredded easily but I had no problem with replacing them. i defiantly recommend buying them!
I definitely appreciate this review, and having two people with different bodies' perspective really helps, but all I can think is that I have a might need for those pants that Pigeon was wearing! Rainbows and unicorns is my jam~!
I've had this skate for over a year now. I skate on the street and on our miniramp with them. Here are some things I have done with them: -- Like Pigeon said, if you are a bigger gal, tighten those trucks, ESPECIALLY if you want to try ramp skating. It will help your ankles out and give you a lot more stability while you are pumping. -- The flimsy tongue drove me crazy. So I grabbed some craft foam from the craft store and reinforced them by gluing the foam to the inside of the tongue. Now they are the bomb. They are fine at the rink, too. I feel like they are a bit slow, but I plan to get some new wheels and my toe stops need to be replaced. My boot has broken in really nicely and I have fallen on our ramp A LOT. They are super durable. I don't plan to upgrade until I destroy these. And when I do, it'll have to be something with the good ankle support that these have. Like a Jack boot.
Can you update me on how they're holding up? I have a pair and want to try ramp skating with them, but they're already pretty broken in. Would you recommend changing wheels?
@@annabanana2743 Yes!! They held up great! I put those radar energy wheels everyone loves on them and it was awesome. I actually passed them on to a friend after I upgraded. For sure my highest recommendation for a sturdy beginner skate.
Hi! I was wondering if maybe you could do a video on 'upgrading' your skates? Like new bearings and wheels and what to look out for. My current skates aren't the best, but there aren't a lot of options to choose from here without breaking the bank. Sooo maybe adding new wheels and stuff would help improve my skating, but i'm stuck on where to start and what to look out for
The candi girl skates are my favorite so far I’ve only tried 3 types but I messed them up and I’ve had them for two years and when I messed them up it was bc I raced my friend.
I’ve actually had those same skates for a little over a year now. I actually bought a second pair that had indoor wheels versus the softer outdoor wheels. They are great and I use them so much. Just go up one size because that’s what I did and they fit very comfortably and I love them!
Also I'm excited to see how you work with these at the skate park! I tried using these at the skate park and the wheels were too sticky for the ramp and it was awful :(
Just gave my candi girl’s their first spa day, the wheels were on pretty tight so I needed something a little heftier than a skate took to get them off, the bearings came out easy with a screw driver and cleaned up well, the suede gets pretty scratched up at the park but nothing soapy water and new toe guards and caps won’t fix, I swapped the tow stop to a suregrip immediately and my sister put her impala wheels on from her previous skates, no dramas and lasting so much better than impalas, I have no issues with my wheels except the size so I may change to smaller impala wheels soon
I bought this exact pair before even seeing this! I'm SO used to inline skating, and having the break in the front is so different for me. As soon as it stops raining here, I'll be practicing again!!
Thank you for these reviews! I just bought my pair of Candi Girl skates after seeing this as I was about to buy the Chicago skates first until I saw your review of those! So far I am glad I spent the extra money on these. I've only been skating in my apartment a little bit since I got them because it's been raining lately so the stiffness of the boot has not broken in very much but they are otherwise very smooth and so much easier to skate in than the rental skates at my local rink (those were awful). I went outside in them for the first time today and they were a bit slower out on the driveway pavement than inside my apartment but I figure once my leg muscles get stronger it will be easier. I got them in my shoe size 8 and they fit well. I have narrow feet and the sides hurt a tiny bit still but they seem to be breaking in already. I can't wait to get out and start skating seriously! :D
This video is actually what finally convinced me to by these skates. Now I’m watching it again while I wait for them to be delivered to my house! I AM SO EXCITED!!!
I “upgraded” my skates and just bought a Candi Girl Sabrina (upgraded from a crappy Dicks sporting goods brand) over some impalas. Did I make the right decision??? The skates should arrive Wednesday evening.
lara fitzpatrick I really liked them! They roll pretty well, however I can’t give you a in depth answer since my skates got here a few weeks before quarantine and due to my schedule I was only able to skate 1 - 2 times a week. But so far they work really well! I think you will like them :D
As Told by Battny that’s what I’m wondering too. I was planning to buy Impalas but saw a lot of negative feedback on them so I’m researching different brands.
Forever After Crafter I’m having the same problem but I’m really not up for spending a lot of money so I have very few choices, been looking at the Chaya Melrose ones tho
I started out my skate journey by watching your vids, and I'm so glad you reviewed the Candi Girls! I got my pair around the first days of August, so I had about an entire month of skating daily before the weather got on / off and work interfered. That solid month of skating daily broke them in to a perfect fit, although I always have to skate with socks on, no matter what. The day I skated with bare feet, the boots felt way too lose and I kept tripping. If you're icky about it, the bearings and mechanics get extremely dirty (or maybe it's the park I skate in), so along with adjusting every off week, I try and clean the trucks and wheels.Toe stops have worked fine for me, although I don't know how to do a tomahawk break yet. All in all, I think they're a fantastic option for someone who wants to start out skating.
got my Candi Girl skates a few days ago and they are AWESOME! I am seriously in love. I've adjusted the wheels a little and taken them to the rink (I know they are outdoor wheels but it's been raining for days here and no end in sight at the moment so a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do right?!) My only complaint is that the foam in the ankle of the boot doesn't actually cover my ankle bone. But I cut up some foam, taped it down to my ankle with some first aid tape, put my socks on and went skating anyway. Only blister is on my big toe bone so I'll throw some insoles in and wear a bit thicker socks next time I go out on them.
Do you recommend changing the wheels and stopper right away? If so, what shoud we change them to? I shoukd get my pair next week (in Korea), and would like to order other recommended items right away. I also plan on exclusively skating outside.
I have the RIO Rollers. They are also 99$ and they Looks really nice😍but I would like to hear your opinion about the roller skates. So maybe you unbox them a day🙂💗
Thanks for the review. Wanted to buy my niece a pair of skates but shes 14 and her feet is still growing. This is perfect. Im getting back into skating and bought the Moxy Lollys and love the fit and the color Pineapple Yellow. Bought it 1 size smaller and it fits perfect. You girls rock.....
Typically girls stop growing between the ages of 11 and 13. Mine stopped when I was 12....which was good since I got my first REAL skates at that age. Chicago's....back when they were still made here in the U.S. They still worked great when I took my kids to the rink in my early 30's. Would probably still be skating them now if it wasn't for my oldest daughter wearing them outside...and leaving them out in the rain. UGH!
Simply one that's not excessively wide. If you have to look for wide shoes - or custom order shoes because your feet are wider than "normal" - these skates won't work for you. If you can go into a store, grab that size 8 (or whatever size you are) off the shelf and wear them, these are great skates for you.
@@MystiqueRisingSun I agree. but there are plenty of skate boot mfgrs for wide feet out there. ridell makes wide boots. your skate boot pro may be able to stretch narrow skate boots for you. good luck. US citizens tend to have a bit wider feet.
@@jmdenison Yes...and those Riedell's (and others) are clearly marked AS "wide" somewhere in the description. The OP asked. "What is a normal foot?" Normal is just that, as stated, if you can go to a store and pick a shoe off the shelf in your size, you have a normal foot....unless you specifically have to look FOR wide shoes (or custom order them). Since the Candi Girl skates (as shown in this video) are vinyl, they won't stretch. Most people with wide feet can usually still wear a "normal" leather or suede booted skate because the material stretches to mold to your foot over time. Only those with "excessively" wide feet (generally those who have to custom order shoes) can't do a typical leather/suede boot...but "a little wide" means they should be okay if they go for a higher end skate.
@@MystiqueRisingSun yep.otherwise you have to go custom on the boots. I have narrow foot and the Candi girls fit my feet fine, even with a thick sock. still breaking them in
I had some chicago skates they where really heavy and I didn't liked them , I wore them for almost a year but know i have a pair chaya melrose ( the ones which are black and pink) with fiber glass plate and they are super light and the wheels are super nice for street skating :)
I’m an 8 1/2 and I ordered a size 8 but there is still room. Can you recommend a particular insoles to bridge the gap with n the skate beside a thick sock?
I wish that i could afford any type of roller skates Skating is something that ive been wanting to do for the longest it looks really fun and a great way to exercise
I’ve been skating on my Candi Girls for about a month now and love them! They are a bit narrow in the toe box so the side by my pinky toe hurts after a while. I did notice that one tongue might not have been sewn properly because there’s a ridge in the fabric since day one so it makes it a bit difficult to get it to lay nice and flat. (OCD lol) I’ll definitely need to get a tool to tighten up the trucks because when I turn a certain way the boot rubs up on the wheels and jerks me to a stop. Other than a few things, these skates have been great to learn on!
I love them! They're pretty cool and comfortable. I got them in a really pretty blue. They give you a lot of stability. I do recommend them. I don't like the toe stop that much. It's kinda big
I just ordered a pair of these skates. Thank you so much for your review on them. Now I know what to expect. I am sixty-five years old and I want to feel that free feeling I had as a kid when I would skate. I plan on just skating outside on our roads and bike paths. Now if our snow would only go away, so that when they arrive, I can get out and skate!
@@FashionableLove it's going great, but I had to stop practicing since I joined summer classes. They're almost done so soon I can skate again XD. Thank you for asking btw.
I have a question because my head is arguing whether I save money for a better or just get affordable and great quality so I can start earlier Do I need to size up if I have wider feet?
I’m looking to get candi girl Carlin skates! (I think those are the ones you have in the video?) I need skates that have hybrid wheels so I can skate at home, outside or a skating rink! Are the candi girl carlins suitable for that or do I have to replace the wheels?
I got mine last year, I love my Candi Girl Skates. I dont know if my oppinion matters but if you are a begginer this skates are the best from a budget.
I just got my candy girl skates today and they feel much better than the Chicago skates I had about 15yrs that I only used in the rink and they broke after about a month and I only went to the rink once a week😬. I tried to order them from plane roller skate but they were sold out, I ended getting them on Amazon though. I have to break them in outside in my driveway or on my hardwood floors until the world opens back up after we survive this pandemic. Hopefully I'll be more confident skating backward by then

I'd love to hear how the Candi Girl skates compare to the Impala skates! It seems like this review was overall more positive that your video on the Impalas. Considering they're both $99, would these skates be a better value?
The skates you can get for $40-$50, the wheels usually don't turn well and trip you. Then you have to replace wheels and bearings which runs around $50-$60 so it's better to spend the $100 to begin with on a more quality skate that will last longer.
Hey listen and believe me I understand. But the best thing is to just pay up. Why? because cheep skates= cheep function. You will hurt yourself and won't be able to learn how to skate properly due to the poor quality and function of the skates. Invest in a good pair of skates it's worth it trust me....
It's my birthday soon and I'm definitely think about getting these or the Chaya Melrose skates! Both reviews have me at war deciding which one is better. My Mom think my passion may be skating and I think so too!☺️
I just bought some! My first pair were Chicago and I fell multiple times and it hurt my lower legs. I cannot wait to start getting back into skating again.
Thanks for this review! I've been going back and forth trying to decide if I should make my first pair of skates Moxi Lolly or if so should pay less and start off with Candi Girls. Please try the impala skates, preferably the holo ones
Zahori Velazquez will do!!
I got the halo impalas!! They are amazing! ! The boot broke in around 2 weeks in, the wheels are great, the stoppers are good, I've only had them around 4 months, and had no problems. I couldn't decide between the halo or the leopard print, so i got both! ! For the price, they are really good.
@@Itsjusteva11 good to know!! I was planning on grabbing some soon! 😁😁 I think I have to get the leopard print it's just too cute.
@@Itsjusteva11 what is the hardness of the wheels?
That Color Silver ahhh yes, hence why I get asked so often how to clean suede skates lol
Use thread lock on the stoppers. It’s a type of glue used to stop bolts coming undone through vibration. You can also use plumbing PTFE tape. Cheap to buy from most hardware stores
@@darrenelbrow5144 or nail varnish 😉. Seriously it works just as well.
35nee nail varnish will work but is brittle when dry and still allows the bolt to work loose. 37 years of skating has taught me a trick or two about skate maintenance 😎👍
@thatcolorsilver I've fallen a few times from the toestop coming off! But I still have them💖
I love these skates.
Scarlet Garza what color??.
Scarlet Garza how much were they?
@@athena0000 on their website it says from 80 dollars to 100
Is it good for aggressive/ramp skating?
I recently got those same skates! I do not know how to skate but I wanted to start after binge watching your channel. I like these skates a lot but I find it hard to bend my knees with them laced all the way up...so I don't. I had an issue with my left skate rolling to the right, so my husband adjusted it for me. The toe stops bounce when I put it down. I may look in to changing them since you also found issues with them. But I do love them. They are my 1st pair of skates ever and I'm 37.
Mich Spence yes me too! They are very stiff and i feel like theyre fairly heavy
You just need to wear them in, I’m a figure skater and at first my ice skates were incredibly stiff but after a few months of skating you’ll know just how to bend your legs perfectly and the shoe will be a lot more worn and will allow it
Omg literally me except I’m like way younger than you. And definitely do not have a husband... I do have a boyfriend though
This is old but be careful with not lacing it up all the way ! It's stiff at the top so if you fall, you dont break your ankle
I am 37 and am going to get my first pair soon. And I'm scared.
I got my 1st skates At a thrift store And I still have them I've had them for almost 5 years And they look brand new And I play with with them everyday
Same I wish I could even afford the candy girls. Im waiting till im of age to get a job so I can afford moxis.
So glad you did this review. My daughter watches all your videos and is a big fan. She wants some moxi skates but I told her she had to stop growing first. So we got her these skates because they're what I have and I love them. We skate inside because we live in a rural area, and they work great in the rink also!
I would recommend finding a outdoor rink near you so you can take her to skate in a bigger area and she can socialize without her devices!!
I literally said the same thing after buying these lol this summer I'm buying moxis
And DEFINITELY order a size up if you have wide feet!!!
Rogerina if you wear thick socks or two socks i say you could do a size up
But how does a size up help the width, it just going to a longer boot? Right?

Exactly

i’m not sure, i think the width changes too?? in the amazon description, it says to size up if you have wide feet.

You should save for Moxi Lolly's! Trust me, you'll end up buying them anyways.
Tomi Broughton BLESS YOU FOR THIS COMMENT! Gonna check out Chaya’s website right now!
Luv,
A fellow wide-footed lady. ❤️❤️❤️
Im a teen and wear a size 11 in womens
I was interested in the billie jean but i cant find anyone who has them
Thaaaank yoooou!
I like the boardwalk skates better.
jasmine miller good to know! Thanks for the info :)
Are the board walks less narrow? :)
I think better to go with the size up. I will order soon these too but one size bigger so my shrek foot can fit in nicely 😊😃
I'm an ice skater without any ice because of Covid. 😭 I just ordered these so I can at least keep moving and skating on a circle. I'm super excited to try them out.
janedoe678 you should look into skates called pic skates they have a rubber to part so you can still jump and spin
Jim Bell I am a figure skater and I age them highly recommended
You might be better with Inlines for skating? The movement is very similar cause you’re on a line like with ice skates.
I ice skated as a kid and once i got used to the wheels i was away. Enjoy
Come over to my country where the snow is pretty hard then you can ice skate everywhere in the snow. XD
can you try the impala skates too bc they're the same price
Yes! Been riding the holographic ones a bit now and they are great so far! The wheels on the Candi girl are higher quality but the plates and boot on the impala worked well for the mile or so that I skated in them.
INDY JAMMA JONES which skate do you recommend between impala and candi. It’s outside only. I’m a beginner even though I’m a grown women haha
This - and - That did you ever decide on one? I’m deciding between the two right now !
i don’t know if my opinion matters, but ive been watching a lot of reviews on both since i had the same question- and i’d personally go with the candi girl skates. i’ve noticed a huge boot separation problem with the impalas. i’ve seen some people who’s boot started to come off after only two months of using them!!! and with candi girl i’ve seen reviews where people have had them for years and they work great! so candi girl all the way
Lilith Jade
i agree!!
HeyItsEbony oh no! Sorry to hear this. They really did break in though, maybe they won’t hurt so bad in the future?
@@INDYJAMMAJONES I do believe with time they would've broken in and molded well with my feet, but because they were quite stiff on the sides I felt like it wouldn't happen anytime soon and ended up sending them back and just save up for a pair of Moxi Beach Bunnies. I do really believe for anyone willing to break them in with time then they would be absolutely perfect
Thanks so much for the info! Let us know how you like the beach bunnies :D !
I own a pair of candi girl skates, and I love them! They are very good quality skates, I highly recommend them!

Which is better tho, impala or candi girl?

Yes exactly my thoughts as I watched this video.I live in germany in a small village. The sidewalks here aren‘t that good either, old stones...

I'd love an updated review of these and how they've lasted!!! 💞🛼🦋
i have been skating the Carlin berry candy girl skates for about 6 months now. very good quality and they defiantly last. the toe stop shredded easily but I had no problem with replacing them. i defiantly recommend buying them!
Here are some things I have done with them:
-- Like Pigeon said, if you are a bigger gal, tighten those trucks, ESPECIALLY if you want to try ramp skating.
Sooo maybe adding new wheels and stuff would help improve my skating, but i'm stuck on where to start and what to look out for
The reason I started skating was because of u you had showed me to never ever give up if things are hard so thank u 💗
I tried using these at the skate park and the wheels were too sticky for the ramp and it was awful :(
You might wanna try harder wheels
Just gave my candi girl’s their first spa day, the wheels were on pretty tight so I needed something a little heftier than a skate took to get them off, the bearings came out easy with a screw driver and cleaned up well, the suede gets pretty scratched up at the park but nothing soapy water and new toe guards and caps won’t fix, I swapped the tow stop to a suregrip immediately and my sister put her impala wheels on from her previous skates, no dramas and lasting so much better than impalas, I have no issues with my wheels except the size so I may change to smaller impala wheels soon
I’ve been curious about these skates for a while now, thank you for answering all the questions I had! Great review!!
I bought this exact pair before even seeing this! I'm SO used to inline skating, and having the break in the front is so different for me. As soon as it stops raining here, I'll be practicing again!!
I’ve had my Candi Girls for a year now! They’re really nice!
When is the website gonna be restocked 🥺
Thank you for these reviews! I just bought my pair of Candi Girl skates after seeing this as I was about to buy the Chicago skates first until I saw your review of those! So far I am glad I spent the extra money on these. I've only been skating in my apartment a little bit since I got them because it's been raining lately
so the stiffness of the boot has not broken in very much but they are otherwise very smooth and so much easier to skate in than the rental skates at my local rink (those were awful).
Tiny Grass hey I’m considering buying a pair of candi girl Sabrinas. How do you like yours?
lara fitzpatrick I really liked them! They roll pretty well, however I can’t give you a in depth answer since my skates got here a few weeks before quarantine and due to my schedule I was only able to skate 1 - 2 times a week. But so far they work really well! I think you will like them :D
I’m about to buy these candi girl ones over the impala ones, think that’s the right decision ??
All in all, I think they're a fantastic option for someone who wants to start out skating.
i have a pair of cheap skates like $35. And they skate terribly 😂😂 when i get a job imma get moxi skates
R they chicago skates
Ano nymous_987 Chicago skates are BAD but I bought them anyway and just replaced the wheels and toe stop but the boot is so uncomfortable so...
got my Candi Girl skates a few days ago and they are AWESOME!
I bought those few months ago (my firsts) and they're so nice ! I even brought them to the skatepark and I had no problems ! I highly recommend it !!!
UGH!
Anyone else curious what an average foot looks like?
I have narrow foot and the Candi girls fit my feet fine, even with a thick sock. still breaking them in
YES!!!! Lol!!
I love my Candi Girl Skates!!! I've had them over a year now and they still have my heart
Check Ebay or craigslist or if you have a Play It Again Sports store near you. I hope you can get some soon! ❤❤
Do you think that i should get the Candy Girl Skates rather than the Impala Skate?
They're so beautiful♡
I’ve been skating on my Candi Girls for about a month now and love them! They are a bit narrow in the toe box so the side by my pinky toe hurts after a while. I did notice that one tongue might not have been sewn properly because there’s a ridge in the fabric since day one so it makes it a bit difficult to get it to lay nice and flat. (OCD lol) I’ll definitely need to get a tool to tighten up the trucks because when I turn a certain way the boot rubs up on the wheels and jerks me to a stop. Other than a few things, these skates have been great to learn on!
I will say that from all the research I’ve done and reviews watched and after a few roll arounds, my next upgrade will be custom skates😂
I just got mine yesterday and I wanted to know if I can use mixing wheels/toe stops on candi girl skates? Btw love ur channel☺️

I am sixty-five years old and I want to feel that free feeling I had as a kid when I would skate. I plan on just skating outside on our roads and bike paths. Now if our snow would only go away, so that when they arrive, I can get out and skate!
I got my first pair of candi girl skates! These are my first try skates i am a beginner and im super nervous!! Wish me luck!!
Honey Bee how’s your learning process going?
@@FashionableLove it's going great, but I had to stop practicing since I joined summer classes. They're almost done so soon I can skate again XD. Thank you for asking btw.
I have a question because my head is arguing whether I save money for a better or just get affordable and great quality so I can start earlier
Do I need to size up if I have wider feet?
I was thinking of getting some skates for my friends and I think these would be good
I’m looking to get candi girl Carlin skates! (I think those are the ones you have in the video?) I need skates that have hybrid wheels so I can skate at home, outside or a skating rink! Are the candi girl carlins suitable for that or do I have to replace the wheels?
since my shoe size is between 8 and 8.5 and I have wide feet, would you recommend sizing up to a 9 or getting a size 8?
Definitely get a 9 or even 9.5
I got mine last year, I love my Candi Girl Skates. I dont know if my oppinion matters but if you are a begginer this skates are the best from a budget.
Hey girllll ! You should do a review on impala skates 😭💗❣ I love mine !!!
Briana Ortega do the impala skates give any? I have really wide feet and trying to chose between those and candy girl.
I like that you gave advice for someone over 150lbs. It's good to know this stuff
I can't seem to find these in any size bigger than a 4, where did you get yours??
I got mine off Amazon.
I'm a size 7 UK and I got a 5-8, I don't know what brand mine are though there black/blue from Amazon
What skates can you recommend for wide feet 🦶? 🛼
Imagine having a flat sidewalk like that 😂 could never
I got those skates because of this video. I certainly wasn't disappointed. That was a few years ago, but the skates are as good as new.
Just wondering, but can you make a tutorial on outside edges???
I just got my candy girl skates today and they feel much better than the Chicago skates I had about 15yrs that I only used in the rink and they broke after about a month and I only went to the rink once a week😬. I tried to order them from plane roller skate but they were sold out, I ended getting them on Amazon though. I have to break them in outside in my driveway or on my hardwood floors until the world opens back up after we survive this pandemic. Hopefully I'll be more confident skating backward by then
I'm excited to get mine. Bought them from khols for about 70 somethin dollars.
Girl pls tell me your secret!!! Ive been looking for these recently all over and i cant find them anywhere! Theyre all out of stock in women's sizes
angela Pinon
you can find them on amazon!!

I got convinced by both of you lovely ladies and I end up buying them. They are very beautiful. They were pretty tight on the sides but they are breaking in. First time skating and I am older.. thank for the tutorials too.
ah now i need to convince my mom to let me get these
I need to know if you ever got them😂
Indy!! I just want to say thank you for making all of these videos. I’ve been waiting for a year to get skates and my first pair of candi girls came in the mail today. You have inspired me to be more free and to have more fun. Can’t wait to start skating!! We love you !!!! ❤️
Can you review the impala skates
I'd love to hear how the Candi Girl skates compare to the Impala skates! It seems like this review was overall more positive that your video on the Impalas. Considering they're both $99, would these skates be a better value?
YAY! I've been waiting for this
are theese skates better than the impala ones for crusing around with my friends and doing small tricks at the skate park??
$100 is still a lot of money, but if it's An investment sure
The skates you can get for $40-$50, the wheels usually don't turn well and trip you. Then you have to replace wheels and bearings which runs around $50-$60 so it's better to spend the $100 to begin with on a more quality skate that will last longer.
Hey listen and believe me I understand. But the best thing is to just pay up. Why? because cheep skates= cheep function. You will hurt yourself and won't be able to learn how to skate properly due to the poor quality and function of the skates. Invest in a good pair of skates it's worth it trust me....
Look for second hand skates you can find so many good quality skates that have barely been used for a much better price 😊
It's my birthday soon and I'm definitely think about getting these or the Chaya Melrose skates! Both reviews have me at war deciding which one is better. My Mom think my passion may be skating and I think so too!☺️
Did you decide?
2019? And YES CANDIE GIRLS are my first and still my Roller skates I really wanted a professional skater to review these skates lol ❤️
The production value of this video is fantastic. I really enjoy watching your channel grow.
I'm gonna cry. I cant even afford the Chicago ones :(
I just bought some! My first pair were Chicago and I fell multiple times and it hurt my lower legs. I cannot wait to start getting back into skating again.
Im never awake for new videos
Thanks for this review! I've been going back and forth trying to decide if I should make my first pair of skates Moxi Lolly or if so should pay less and start off with Candi Girls. The great info regarding the space/comfort with wide and flat feet definitely helped me make my decision!! Thanks ladies!
I like that unicorn pants said her weight with no shame. Just facts! Go girl!
should i buy roller skates or roller blades?
