Their father taught them music and I believe it was one if his exercises to synchronise them to sing in a circle following each other word after word. This training has made them sound so uniform and they are using this training skill as an effect in their singing.
It was on a visit to Holland 4 years ago that I was introduced to these girls. As a musician I was blown away by them and to be honest I cried .. they are that good.
hi i so much love your enthusiasm and your complimenting comments to their videos. Cause they deserve every positive comment for their singing abilities/skills. Specially the echoing skills they developed! They make it looks easy aswell.
This is mind blowing. They should be way more famous. The quality of their live vocals is as good as the studio version. I have never seen anything like it before.
They were the entry for junior Eurovision songfestival (2007), they have competed in the voice of holland and they came out for Netherlands in the adult Eurovision (2017)
keep coming back to this, these girls are phenomenal and I LOVE how genuinely amazed you look Georgina. Any updates @Georgina on if you managed to do similar singing with your students?
Hahaha ... the look on your face at around 3:21 (when they sing one word on turn) ... that is exactly the same "WTF-look" we all had when broadcasted. As they are sisters imagine how many practicing hours they had together ... And I have met them in person, and I can tell you those girls are very sweet as well ....
Love you comments. They are absolutely fantastic. They deserve a bigger audience than this small Netherland. It have to be said; our small country has a lot of very good singers. I'm a very proud Dutchie.🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱💋👍
Love your reaction tot Og3ne.When they put up their hand each turn, the girls call it echoing.Og3ne are 3 sisters. The one with blond hair is the oldest en the other two are twins. The girl at the left is born with one long.
Ogene represented the Netherlands a few years ago at the Eurovision Song contest with a beautiful song called “Lights and shadows”, composed by their father about the illness of his wife/ the mother of the girls ( their mother learned them dance and stage presence). The mother was able to come to the contest in a wheelchair but died shortly after that event. Ogene did not end very high, Quality is not always recognized.
They did a much better performance at the semi-finals. Their mother actually showed up for the finals, which they didn't expect. Understandably they were quite emotional, which is why they didn't perform to the best of their abilities.
Tnx for another great reaction! These girls are AMAZING, they should be worldwide famous. But coming from The Netherlands, it's tough to become famous outside The Netherlands. Thank God for internet though...
They hand signaal when iT starts. And yes They sing a word each. Its from the program Beste zangers van Nederland. This show also had Glennis Grace. Btw.... Look at Waylon doing this is a mans world.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed their performance. I hoped you would. What I've learned in the last few months of surfing the InterWebs for singing clips is that the world is simply bursting with talent. There are folks all over the planet who have amazing vocal abilities. How any one of them becomes an international singing star seems to me to have more to do with marketing and branding and good management, not talent. I'm not saying that those who become famous aren't talented. They are. I'm just saying that for every one of them, there are a hundred more out there who are just as good but who will never become famous because they don't have the right audience or the right style or the right management. For example, how many jazz singers, no matter how brilliant their vocal technique and native singing ability ever become world famous? Jazz just doesn't have the audience that pop does. Same goes for classical. And those are just the Western idioms. How about people who sing only in their native languages, languages that aren't spoken widely, if at all, outside their homeland? I've heard Chinese singers and Filipino singers who are amazing, but largely unknown outside their own countries. Spanish singers are only now beginning to cross over into the mainstream in the United States. I don't know how they're doing elsewhere, outside of Spanish speaking countries that is. The Dutch, as these young ladies demonstrate, are another good example: a small country that produces far more wonderful singers than they have any business producing. The show "Beste Zangers" from which this clip is taken, highlights some of the Netherlands best singers, and there are a lot of them. How they all find enough work to support themselves with such a small audience I don't know. But, they do. More or less. Sigh. Life is not fair. But, thank goodness, we sometimes get to hear these folks, and life gets a little bit better for it.
Such on interesting point you're making, and sad too. Im from Holland and I know from watching the voice (we also have a kids AND a senior version), which started in Holland, that that are SO many singers that will never make it as big as they deserve, because of age or indeed branding. I'll name some if you're curious, I loved the blind auditions of Mitchell Brunings (sounds almost like Bob Marley himsekf) and Dwight Dissels, who also did an amazinf battle with Leon Sherman. But I don't know if you know Glennis Grace, shes also dutch and made it to the finals of Americas got talent last week, I just hope she gets to be herself, I already see they're giving her a role she doesnt have. But for these ladies Og3ne I have hope because they offer something unique and they're actual sweethearts. Sorry for the speech lol have a good day!
Indeed they are doing 1 or 2 words each.. they developed this technique as kids doing nursery rhymes and children's songs... They would each take 1 word from the lyrics and then start out slow and try to speed it up more and more until it sounds like singing.. and they can do it so fast that when you watch them you don't even know who is singing what.. that is why they do this thing with the hands.. the one that sings opens the hand..
Great always to hear your honest opinion because of your profession. Like every one say wauw! Glennis Grace, to every song just like i did, but you had some other opinions with some songs, its just honest. She is presented as a sad single mom, with a son who needed to encourage her to be there. That's all a big act. She is not single and already a big star in the Netherlands. She sold out Ahoy Rotterdam (20.000) 2 times last year and song for 60.000 in the Amsterdam Arena. This technique is not new, but they do execute it quite well. Debbie Gibson did this in the 80's, with herself through several takes, on her song "Anything Is Possible".
