Unless the seal of that scupper is separated at the bottom too it looks like you could throw a scupper plug in there and still use the yak until the new hull comes.

@@AlexRuddFishing i understand. my dealer mentioned that when I looked into carts. Basically that hobie has refused warranty on a few boondox installs. Don't know the details. However, my takeaway was that there's not a lot of difference between scupper mount carts. They all put pressure on the wall of the scupper in a way that it is not designed for. If I ever get a cart, it will be a cradle style. They seem to be a pain but it's better than the alternative.
Honoring a warranty these days is good. 10bweeks for the fix BULL., that's a whole season in some parts, they should at LEAST offer a new Yak or rental.

Wow. surprised that happened , but looks like fishing was awesome though ,best of luck with your Hobie...
That looks like a blast dude!!!
Man! That sucks. Great video overall. I'll be looking for your final resolution on the Hobie fix.
They approved the warranty claim ETA 6-8 weeks on a new hull.
@@AlexRuddFishingGlad to hear it.
What happened to that Old Town yaks?
Sold them.
Man, that looked like so much fun, except for the leak part. Thinking about getting into a PA14.....

Should be using a real cart like Wilderness Systems. Anything scupper based are trouble waiting to happen. Sorry this happened to you on the high dolla kayak.
I’m glad I was using the one I was because any other cart not Hobie brand would have voided the warranty.
Glad you made it out with minimal issue and Hobie is standing by their product. Just smacked a big rock last night and the pedal drive lock was obliterated.
Ugghhh! That’s what it’s made to do though. You can get another pretty easy.
@@AlexRuddFishing yup! It will be here on Tuesday!
John is one of the most great guys. Have talked to him in many places and he is the best. Brant at frontier is also a great guy. I've bought 2 kayak from there and I am planning on my next one coming from there. They have great product and service. My next one will be a nucanoe unlimited I have 2 natives and they are awesome. I just want to try the nucanoe
I can’t wait to mess around with mine.
@@AlexRuddFishing I have friends that have nucanoe and they love theirs
Man, keep posting videos I watch them all
The scupper cart strikes again!
That was a Hobie brand cart the guy who helped me with warranty said if it wasn’t a Hobie brand one they wouldn’t have covered it.
@@AlexRuddFishing I figured as much. It's crazy to see it still happen to "the kayak that built and designed to do it". Glad they're warrantying it, as they should with it being their products.
Cool video Alex! Loving the kayak videos big time! This one especially. Creek fishing is a blast and no one doesn’t better than John. Probably should of brought one of the other yaks bro! 😂 just saying
What if the PA was my only kayak? I’d hope a $5k piece of plastic could do the job. Thanks for watching bud😁🤙🏻
Ohhh s*^} forgot about the new one!!! That’s was cool Alex,,, not the hole but the trifecta and more!!!
Great Yak adventure!
That happens a lot of times with thru the scupper carts.
I wish you best of luck Alex ❤️🙏

Just subscribed! I'm a longtime subscriber to Creek Fishing Adventures . Looking forward to watching your channel as well.

Here’s a method I use, take a fog machine and blow smoke into kayak and watch where the smoke comes out.
Why I've never used a cart. Especially the scupper mount style. 10 weeks is too long for a premium brand. Love my Hobie, but they have to do better.
I was using a Hobie brand cart and the guy who help my warranty my kayak said if it was any other brand they probably wouldn’t have warrantied it.
Maybe skip the scupper cart with the new hull 😆
Honoring a warranty these days is good.
10bweeks for the fix BULL., that's a whole season in some parts, they should at LEAST offer a new Yak or rental.
PS, Because @ 4 to 5 Grand I would expect it
Was just about to pick one of these up but not anymore
Sorry about the whole but looks like you still had fun. You will get a new hull and have to add your h rails back on etc. But it will be a fresh start.
Yeah that’s what I was told. They said they’re might be a chance they’ll send me one pre rigged.
@@AlexRuddFishing oh that would be nice if they do that!!! The Nucanoe is a good back up!! I was thinking about getting one and just put a motor on it. Let me know how you like it for a quick getting around kayak and how stable.
Will do! I’m planning some creek fishing trips with it. Might even start doing to kayak camping and fishing.
Always keep some plumbers putty with you for this purpose plug up any hole to get you home
A jerkbait with three hooks is more dangerous than a whopper plopped. It entailed a trip to the er. That little 8inch bass was a bad actor at one point all three hooks were in the fish and my hand at the same time. Good thing my grandson was there. I did learn that no matter how hard you try you can’t chock out them little heathen bass.

What are you going to do with the one with the hole?
Keep until the warranty is complete and then repair it.
@@AlexRuddFishing I was going to say you can probably plastic weld it and have a good backup!
What brand are those glasses the ones with green lenses
Brand: Fin-Nor Frame: 12/0 - they’ll be releasing at ICAST.
Anyone know where I could watch some backwater freshwater Florida kayak fishing? That's where I want to go fishing and in a Hobie!
My channel sooner then you think…
not fun when your vessel is filling with water lol
Great video love the channel
I know your pain dude, I got the camo 360, I'm waiting on a new hull
It’s sucks man! Just glad I got back ups and the boat.
Is frontier your dealer?
Yes
Not that you don’t already know this….BUT….probably shoulda taken that NuCanoe on this trip. Lol.
What if the PA was my only kayak? I’d hope a $5k piece of plastic could do the job. Thanks for watching bud😁🤙🏻
For the kind of one pays for a hobie, I would think that should never happen… surely that was just a lemon.
What brand sunglasses are those?
Fin-Nor, they’ll be releasing at ICAST. You can check them out here before they drop though 👉🏻 bit.ly/3QQAWds
it was muffin power for the win
Hey man i am from John's i am a sub here now too. God bless you both and your families.....🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😊😀

Great video!
HA! Gonna be in the native like us cool kids now! 😎
I thought about you the other day when this happened 😂
@@AlexRuddFishing secretly , I'm extremely jealous of your fleet. Don't tell nobody 🤣
Scupper hole carts are so dangerous. Get a c tug and don’t look back
I was using a Hobie brand cart and was told by the person who helped me warranty my kayak if I was using any other brand they wouldn’t have covered it.
I don't think that was a meanmouth, it looked like a true spot to me.
What made me think mean mouth was the size of its mouth and the almost solid bar running the length of its face into gill plate.
