I would have LOVED to seen this one live. The only time they ever played it live was in 1991 on a UK TV show called Johnathan Ross, and if my memory serves me correct they were all wearing dresses. Pretty funny performance. "If I swallow death cap love rooms then I spit them right out"
Robert should sing this song at the end of every set nowadays like he does with all those other tired lazy songs without having to pick up the guitar.... It's one of the better ones. I'd rather hear this than Close to Me, The Walk or Lets Go to Bed..... He could even use his tired n done voice also... It's an obvi choice imo...
Robert Smith singing live about how he doesn't care! The total incongruity of this song is what makes it great. As if Robert Smith wouldn't care what people think...
I’ve loved this song since I first heard it way back when. A big part of why I like it is because Robert gets to use a very different voice than he normally does.
Me too. There was a time when I listened to this song on repeat and pretty much nothing else. Then I got over the crush I had at the time and started listening to other music again.
My favorite Cure song.

MR. SIMON GALLUP LADIES & GENTLEMEN
I think this song was also written by him (though by this time all songs were credited to the band)
Harold and Joe was Simon’s favorite show from that time.
He is absolutely brilliant playing this one. Sounds fantastic.
One of the cures best tunes
I know, right! but it's just too hard to chose because they have so many songs. For me The Cure's best song changes depending on what mood I am in.
@@JubeProductions exactly
