I remember recording the finish of this because of how the commentary differed for the finish depending on the source. There were four sources: Dan Milecki - Network 10 (who were the official broadcaster at the time) Greg Miles - on course and ABC TV/Radio (from which this video comes from) Bryan Martin - Sport 927 Melbourne and Seven Network John Russell - Nine Network and Sky Channel (as Sky Racing was known then)
@@glenn8272 Agree. Saintly was his favorite as far as the horse he kept at home , also getting him out of a financial hole . So You Think was probably his greatest , but don't forget his Greatest performer for the year 1991, Let's Elope who he said that year " was simply Unbeatable !" . Winning the McKinnon Stakes, Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup.
RIP big fella! Backed him , was good odds. He was a Flemington specialist and probably the most beautiful looking animal I've ever seen. Emotional moment for the true legend Bart Cummings...
Would love to have seen how he would've gone in the Japan Cup had he not gotten sick out of quarantine that year in Japan !!!!!!! The way he finished off two miles was indicative of a brilliant stayer. It was quite a costly trip and disappointing, as I think this guy had more natural ability over 2400 to 3200 than Naturalism and Better Loosen Up, who came first and second in their respective Japan Cup runs !!!!!!!
What a horse, Beadman knew that he would be a better 4yr old, but Cox Plate/Melb Cup double and we never seen how great he could have been but not a bad CV to have. Just a stunning chestnut, was Barts favourite as he bred him aswell, but I think So You Think had Bart debating but why So You Think was sent overseas is a mystery obviously money ans stud value but the way he was trained overseas was terrible
Doreimus was badly ridden and would have been a contender in this race had he been near the front at the 300 meter mark .His victory in 1995 and close second in 1997 is proof of a great stayer.
Got tri then got told ticket had being cancel I was shocked write to tab they said its being cancelled couldnt do anything 4 years later found out the onwer cancel peoples tickets he went to jail I lost 12k

SAINTLY had such a calm beautiful nature and was Bart Cummings favourite horse. Truly saintly.
