Hello ASL Heroes!!! I could really use your help.
If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you.
A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com.
Right now you can help out a humble (as well as kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, hard-working, and did I mention humble?) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!”
    www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G
Or, if you prefer "Cash App" you can use: cash.me/$Lifeprint
    Thanks!
    - Dr. Bill
p.s. Want to have your very own USB drive with four semesters worth of ASL instruction (that’s the equivalent of two years of colleges classes) for just $79.95? See "SuperUSB" in the ASLUniversity bookstore at:
    lifeprint.com/bookstore/bookstore.htm
Take care and love to you all.
    :)

    Hi Bill.
I love your show and have so much ASL to learn.
I have my own ASL book, but it would help me learn better with others.
Also, I know the ASL alphabet, but have trouble reading the finger spelling, especially when people finger spelling to fast.
I live in Long Beach CA, was wondering whether or not you would know if E. Long Beach has any Free ASL classes I could attend.
Or a free ASL Awareness group that teaches ASL.?
I truly need to get out and be with the hearing impaired/deaf world like me, because my hearing friends don't understand why I need them to face me when they talk to me, as I'm a lip reader.
Then if I ask them to repeat what they said, they yell at me because they don't like to repeat themselves.
Plus my hearing friends hate to text me, knowing I can't hear on the phone.
It's not fun having hearing friends when they act like this.
I would truly appreciate meeting people like me,
    Please reply, ok
    Thank you.🙂

Best bet is to check with any Deaf or ASL-related organizations in your area for leads as to local ASL learning / interacting opportunities. For example this organization's website seems updated and functioning and they are in your figurative "back-yard." linksinterpreting.com 800 W. Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90806 Mission: Links is an interpreting agency that serves the Deaf and hard hearing community. It also provides language interpreting and translation services.
They are not there to teach you free ASL but they might be able to point you in the right direction or you might be able to volunteer for them and thereby pick up lots of sign language and meet new people who sign.
Since you are becoming Deaf you will likely qualify for Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
      See: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/topics/vocationalrehabilitation.htm
      Then see: www.dor.ca.gov/
      Warm regards,
      Dr. Bill

I have the same problem and slow everything down using the settings wheel on you tube. My friends are frustrated with me also , but we play the game charades to keep it light and most like that. I'm not to good at lip reading and get it wrong most of the time. The clerk at the store asked me " how's your day? But what I saw was are you gay? Hahahahahhahahahhah...... We both had a good laugh and he was so embarrassed. Now he says "how's things going. Hahahahahahahahha......

Yeah it's so easy to misread words when lip reading.
I began reading lips when I was 8.
I'll be 58 on Christmas Eve, and I still misread words occasionally.

Will you be adding ALL of your Vocabulary Expansion Series videos in your Vocabulary Expansion Series (ASL) American Sign Language Playlist? For me, a playlist is the best way I can keep my videos of the same content together. Thank you for all that you do!

Rich, as a result of you asking about the playlist for the Vocabulary Expansion Series I have updated the playlist.

Rich, also, I went ahead and built a page for the VES over at LP.
      See: www.lifeprint.com/ves/
That way I can start adding links for individual vocabulary items and/or other related information.

Go to the main page of ua-cam.com/users/billvicars and find the ASL 1 playlist and start with lesson 1 and work your way up to lesson 60. For additional support (fingerspelling charts, etc.) see Lifeprint.com

LP is the abbreviation for Lifeprint!!!
