The main problem of this format is how you tech handtraps :
Every top decks can play through an Ash blossom ( even branded) . But you still need ash for maxx c .
Every top deck can play through Maxx-C.
You still need Droll for SHS . but Barnded , Lab and Snake Eyes laughs to Droll

It's true. The Flamberg effect to put an opponent's monster in the backrow is a great way to get rid of super dangerous cards or combo pieces. Flamberg completely shuts down branded as I can just throw Mirrorjade into the backrow where it becomes harmless and if I have divine temple I can steal it too.
So what Josh is saying is that we need to unban Merrli to bring Tear to the same power level? Got it.

I would very much like to see a functioning tearlaments deck (w/o ishizu millers, fuck those) against a 'no bonfire' snake eyes deck.
The nibiru draw was criminal.
I would play Snake Eye, it's just that because there's so many URs in it, one Master Duel trademark random hit to any single part of the engine means a lot of wasted gems and UR dust.
They really hesitate to hit UR cards, though, so you should be fine for a couple of months at least.

Poplar still searches The Original Sinful Spoil (or the Temple, if you have some other card that can send your backrow to the graveyard), which still gets you to Ash or Oak as well as Flamberge.
Limiting Ash to one or two doesn't seem _too_ bad. Banning it gets rid of another Snake-Eye that can Special summon others from the deck but even then, you could still play.
I could understand your worries, if they released Bonfire as an SR, but that would be surprising.
Remember that the given Rarity is not just about what may be hit eventually but that they also distribute the cards of a given archetype at least _somewhat_ across different Rarities.
@xCorvus7x If you want to find out for yourself how much it matters, Ash is banned in the synchro/link event. Spoils is at 1 also which is not ideal for pure Snake Eyes, but everything else is there. They also banned droll/maxx, so it won't be representative of the ladder experience, but it'll give you a risk free place to find out how bad a hit like that would actually be.

People still play Snake-Eye Rescue-Ace and would probably also play Snake-Eye Fire King, if we had that support already.

I'm building the snake eyes deck, but there are so many ultra rare materials. i only need to craft 22 more, so i need to have a least 660 ultra rare materials to finish it

Because Circular ends up on unbreakable board even if you use Mathmech itself.
Meanwhile on Snake Eye mirror the second turn player still can win.
Mathmech is the link version of SHS while Snake Eyes is more similar to Tearlament.
Bud really want to equate poplar which is only mediocre as a starter that eats normal summon which means you don't even want to draw it plenty of the time and is only insane as an extender(needs normal summon btw) meanwhile Circular gives two bodies, foolish an extender for cost, searches, doesn't use normal summon, and absolutely cannot be handtrapped at all except with Gamma. You handtrap a Snake Eyes once properly and they potentially have to pass on a weaker board, against Math you need two hand traps AT LEAST or you're not playing the game
@@mrsquadbot I'm not saying pop is the same as circ but your argument isn't right. Mathmech if hit at a chokepoint can easily be stopped and yes most times it takes two handtraps but it's the same with snake-eyes. Most times a single ash or imperm isn't enough to stop them. Maxx c,nib and shifter hurt both decks equally.

Edit: also poplar and circular fill the same role. mathmech without circular is mid. snake eyes without poplar is simply not nearly as strong.

It sucks how they crippled Dragon Link just before releasing Snake-Eyes which would have made it much less viable all by itself.
I mean, TCG have all that and never achieved anything, the deck is really only a long time tier one deck in OCG and MD despite the many hits
Aluber and opening can go to 3 no problem as long as brafu stays at 1 so it's not very splashable and provides a clear chokepoint, bystials can also stay at 1 they get kinda degenerate at multiple copies not just for branded but other dragon and chaos decks in general

@@xCorvus7x this is a master duel centered discussion so tenpai is not relevant to the argument, other than branded they've seen varying degrees of use and abuse for months now in decks like chaos, dragon link, tear, mannadium, vanquish soul, runick and even labrynth, it's not a matter of if but when we have another light and/or dark gy dominated format, why go through the process of freeing them only for them to eventually cause problems again and land in the banlist all the same? When the time inevitably comes for another format that bystials are powerful in you'd be okay with magnamhut and druiswurm roaming around at 3?

The deck is fun to play, isn't a combo deck (can get under a specific hand though), isn't as unfair as many other decks (still very strong), has a different form of interactions compared to other decks etc. He seems to have never gotten past the Mirrorjade+BiR pass days.

It's a fun deck to play with but man it sucks that all we have to look forward to is Snake-Eyes and Snake-Eyes variants for like the next 6 months. The R-Ace support is dropping soon, Fire Kings not too long after, and cards like S:P and Bonfire are around the corner. At least in the Tear format both Spright and D-Link were still very playable.

Wipe the board/bait a negate with Dark Hole, then you have decent options. What I like about Snake Eye is that its power is in the grind game, not just ending the game on turn one.
Not saying they don’t have negate end boards, but it’s not the same set up every game.
Also, it’s making Droll less popular which automatically makes this format better than SHS was.

@@tiktokexposed898 More so my point is we are going to see way less diversity at the top end in the upcoming formats as everything is just going to be variants of Snake-Eyes. SHS and Branded are still good decks now but SHS is going to get killed off by the banlist. Branded is going to fall off as fire decks get their support and access to S:P while either the deck stays the same or continue to take hits on the banlist. Will Branded be still playble? Probably unless Konami says, "Fuck it" and bans Branded Fusion but it's probably not going to stick around as a contender like Spright or D-Link did.
Pure snake eye is so fun. Easy to out boards, while also putting up enough interruptions to stay meta relavent. I dont even play it and i like the deck

It's better to play 3 before Bonfire is here, but it's not necessary at all. Your deck will just be a little less consistent.
I'd say play a couple of games yourself and see if you need more consistency. If the answer is yes, try playing where arf thou first before crafting the third poplar.

For the time that list on the video express what MD format right now is for sinful-eyes. Sinful eyes are at its peak when mixed with the new cards on fire king combo and/or rescue ace. But these decks are incomplete in MD, so the best way to play sinful eyes it's pure with a link heavy strategy on the side.
Becouse you are playing it pure you are very dependent of the snake eyes starters that being ash and populus. None of the other cards start your combo, even the diabellestar is just a way for you to get to ash or populus. So the strategy right now is play these 2 cards at maximum copy and all searchers that we can. In this video we have an example when you don't open eny of these.
So yeah... You are kinda correct... You don't need 3 populus or 3 diabellestar or 3 wanted, if you had a secondary strategy to complement the sinful eyes engine being that fire king or rescue ace. You can try to play with infernobleknights, but infernobles will compete with the sinful eyes for slots on the back row, so the sinergy between the two are not quite there.
To hell with these absurd power level decks. They're not fun for whoever has to play against it.

If you listened to what Josh has to say, this tier 0 is interesting because it's not just a coin flip. The deck has multiple forms of disruption but also interesting ways of breaking boards. The layers that this deck has actually makes it an interesting deck. The only unfortunate thing is that in the TCG it prices most of the regular players out of the game.

Snake ii is a perfect example of what went wrong with Yu-Gi-Oh.
No real weakness, multiple one card starters, everything pluses and leads to more extenders that then also plus and it ends able to do it all again the next turn.
It rewards rote memorization of combo lines over actual strategy and thought.
yeah but at least it's not a "draw the out" deck where if you don't open +2 handtraps, a board breaker and full combo, you lose after watching someone play solitaire for 20 minutes

it is that deck, except there is no out to draw, you just have to also play snake ii and hope that you drew enough ht's to diminish their disruption setup while also drawing enough extenders to play through what they did set up.
there's not many other decks that can keep up with that level of free and still have room for ht's.
sure you could argue that the game was always like that or something to that affect but no, its not been this free and easy to get to this much disruption. there's usually, at the very least, a weakness built in.
for example for tearlaments it was the gy, for kash and branded its the lack of negation, for SHS its droll/2 well timed ht's, runick is reliant on its field spell.
snake ii doesn't have any such weakness. not even board breakers can do much as josh already covered in a previous video.

1. It is not something like super heavy samurai/ manadium which just locks you out of the format with 1 billion omni negates that's nigh impossible to go second into
2. the engine is super splashable in almost any other deck thanks to diabellestar, so while you are more than likely required to play some version of this deck, you can still play other engines in it, not forcing you to play the exact mirror with something like tear format.
you can essentially use your normal summon for your mainline combo then pivot into a small diabellestar engine to access promethian princess/ flamberge as well and even if your mainline combo gets stopped by opposing snake eyes you're essentially never out of the game if you have diabellestar access, and with any luck if your opponent overcommits their interruption to your first play, your smaller diabellstar engine will have enough interruptions going to clean up he rest of what they have.
the diabellestar cards don't inherently lock you out of the game nor are they inherently unfair, they aren't spamming 1 billion omni's and (until fire king gets released) they're putting up about the same number of disruptions as branded atm and both of these decks lose quite a lot of their end board to just nibiru, which you can consider running as counterplay.
while this deck is most definitely tier 0 and you'll probably be at a severe disadvantage if you don't play some of the cards, because the engine is so splashable and you don't sit there getting your whole hand negated there's plenty of room for counterplay in the strategy, far and away of some of the least interactive yugioh super heavy samurai and manadium have previously brought to the game, so while these cards aren't perfect I am always glad to face snake eyes versus something like labrynth.

I disagree with the last point, if you've played with the deck enough you would recognise that's it's fairly non linear for example with its ability to adapt its combo lines on the fly to play through and around different handtraps, boardbreakers and interruptions as they come up, there's not really a big multi step combo to memorize apart from the most basic 1 card combos that every good deck has, the rest are stuff you just have to figure out through practice since games regularly go to turn 5 and beyond, especially in the mirror, so the winner is usually the one who manages their resources best rather than who resolved their 59 step youtube combo first

Snake eye is the most fun I have had with MD since Spright
As a striker player, it is really enjoyable to play against snake-eye, the follow up of snake-eye is insane but not broken, the interaction of both decks make it really fun.
I'm playing snake eye infernoid and having a blast.
Snake Eyes does seem reallu fun! I'm 10k gems deep without pulling a single one of them lol.
I dumped 7k just to get 2 Flamberg Dragons... Pulled every UR that wasn't snake eye related... Talk about being unlucky...

Snake eye isn't really a negate turbo deck, their main interruptions are promethean princess pops and ip into unicorn spins with an occasional baronne, savage, or apo for backup so a good player can definitely navigate through it with a good deck as we regularly see in the snake eye mirror. Meanwhile if mathmech goes uninterrupted the game basically ends on the spot since very few decks can do much against 3-4 negates and laplacian send 3.

This is basically the same thing when the only way to beat Ishizu Tear when they were still tier 0 was to play the deck as well (aside using D Shifter abuse deck)
@@Test-mq8ih yeah because both happen to be near tier 0 but that's a different discussion. My point here still stands, assuming you're play a competent deck of your own against such a deck, that being the mirror in this case, you still stand a solid chance to win if their combo goes uninterrupted by just using your engine break through, unlike against a mathmech or superheavy deck where that chance is very low to nonexistent due to their negates and interruptions literally outnumbering the cards in your hand.
To anyone who asks why snake eyes is a healthy deck, what really matters is the form of interaction the deck has on the opponent's turn.
There are no floodgates, it's not putting up negates, it doesn't rely on a big towers to survive. It has grind game, but no broken combos that win turn 1, and is consistent enough that it almost always gets to make it's plays.
Compare this to super heavy Sam, which can put up 2 omni negates and 3 monster negates on top of a scythe lock, and that's one of the LEAST toxic options, it also just has a FTK.
I leave it to you to tell me which deck you'd rather face, and I choose the one that isn't "draw forbidden droplet + called by the grave or instantly die"
It puts up consistent negates in the form of Apollousa and Baronne/Savage. Stop the cap.

I like Snake-Eyes better as a side-engine or half-engine than as an actual deck. The amount of Non-Engine and generic Extra Deck pieces you need to play to go "pure" make it feel more boring from an Extra Deck perspective, and more bricky from a main deck perspective(which is hilarious considering how hyper consistent the pieces are when used as an engine with other things that have their own starters, often raising the ceiling for both things being used when played optimally, but less engines also means more obvious choke points).

After snake eye and shs, chaos ruler can 100% comeback to MD.
No single deck can play it aside from d link and resonators which is nothing to even worry about.

@@tiktokexposed898 But was it all that bad? I'm pretty sure Dragon Link made the most out of Chaos Ruler, and with Wyverburster gone the deck has definitely fallen from grace (although I wouldn't mind getting back some Bystials either; maybe not Saronir but we are entering a Fire meta).

Agreed it's absolutely boring. Why even bother getting good at a game if the game itself is such a slogfest with only one deck being playable and it's one you don't even care about.
