Great tires, came nicely packed in the box, and did not compress ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx985f3iNjxHFMO6JoE7CSGActiIEyumFx . It fitted my craftsman riding mower just fine. It is a little narrower than my stock tires but so far it has held up and works great. No air leaks and traction was great in my hilly backyard. Installation was good and was not too difficult, highly recommended.
My brother tried this on a flat lawn tractor tire. It was a spectacular failure. He probably put too much in? The sidewall blew out on the tire. It hit the 16' tall ceiling of his pole barn. He was leaning over it when the sidewall blew. He says it took 1 gallon of mineral spirits to get the foam off of his face/hair/head! Being a good brother, I had to ask him "Can you do it again? I'll make a video, we'll get rich!" He declined...LOL
In all my years of working with this stuff in props and decorations I have found a few things out the hard way. Like a haircut is cheaper, safer and easier than more chemicals. The best one I learned however is that it isn't air that makes the foam cure, it's the moisture in the air. I always have a spray bottle on hand so it cures quicker. You also don't have as much worry about it just staying an uncured mess in the middle of cured foam. As far as the tire keeping it's shape, I'd suggest a screw and clip into the bead to hold it to the rim properly. Lessens the chances of bulged or deformed sidewalls.
Dude #1) take the valve core out then fill tire. #2) use a sharp drill bit so you dont slip off. #3) make sure you have can screwed on all the way to straw. #4) wear latex gloves . #5) make sure you have straw in and secured before filling . Just good safe advice.
I put great stuff in my wheelbarrow 3 years ago and it still works well. Its a throwaway tire and wheel so I have saved $40 because I normally buy 1 every other year.
I have a dolly cart and was thinking of removing the air-filled tires and buying solid rubber. I never even thought of doing this! It will save me a lot of headache. Thanks!
To follow up: The technique worked just fine on my dolly cart. I only needed part of one can, and I used what was left on a wheel barrow tire. The tire was falling apart, but the method still worked, sealing holes in the tire and making it functional.
Slime worked for about 2 years on my horse rototiller the third year it was all dried up. It was fun to watch your video I will remember this for the future. Mike Morgan
I don't know.... is there a tube inside the can running from the top to the bottom? Usually there is in most cans of paint and other stuff so that it picks up the stuff at the bottom.
What the hell I'm gonna give it a try lol. I have an old garden trailer with 2 flats that's just been sitting around. If it works great, if it doesn't I won't loose much!
I use green slime in all my tires except for my truck and car tires!!! Works great and never had any more problems with flat tires!!! I only have to add a little air every few months!!! I love the stuff!!!
I tried this procedure on both of my rear 20x8 lawn tractor tires. It was a disaster and i ended up ruining both rims and tires. Here in the South its much too hot for this to work in the summer. The foam gets completely out of shape and you get extreme flat spots due to the heat. I used more then a case of "Great Stuff" foam attempting to fill all of the voids. But It did not get the tires back to the proper original size and shapes. It was aweful on the spine and the cut of the blades. I may have done something wrong. But no matter how close to the recommended procedure I stayed, the tires didnt maintain their shape. I can't recommend this at all in high heat areas. ZZ.
Don't get in a hurry for instant results. The tire needs to sit for 4 or 5 days for the foam to cure and harden. Don't get tempted to use it the next day, you will be sorry
depends on what the tire is used for. I used the foam on my tiller tires since the tire and tubes were super expensive . been using the tires for 3 years no problem. a mower tire filled with foam will break down quick due to all the vibration and heavy use.
This works pretty well for the people that sell the foam. It doesn't work for load carrying wheels. You will have a flat spot after the wheel sits for awhile. There are products that work. That one isn't one.
I just tried this on my wheel barrow tire this morning. I noticed the directions on the can mention not to use for filling a cavity or enclosed space. We'll see how it turns out.
Requires lots of air to dry properly. I tried making catfish jugs from balloons and beach balls. Some balloons dissolve or the foam doesn't cure . Same with commercial spray foam insulation, you've got to know what your doing and always make sure that the air gets to it while your working with it.
It's so much fun to watch the video without listening to music I don't like but it's much better to watch when I can hear the real sound of those videos.

Michael Vaught hey man, what do you expect from a guy blowing expansion foam all over his truck bed, while using his dollar store drill, to put holes in his tire, while the beads broken? I mean, seems to me that drilling backwards would be natural. I heard he died trying to weld a pin hole in his argon tank....
I was wondering if anybody else caught that too. But hey.. we all should give him a break. He’s trying to help people out that aren’t like some of the know it all ‘pros’ on YT that need to make childish comments and ridicule others. What good does that create? Real old pros don’t make comments like that...just saying. Sure, it wasn’t flawless. If he’s happy with it, that’s really all that matters. Good or bad. Btw Michael.. your comment was nicely worded and still made the point without making fun of the guy. As it should be. 👍🏼
And for the record, I was in the trades for 40 years as a contractor and a precast manufacturer. I had many employees. Some were better than others, but I never ridiculed any of them. They don’t learn when you make fun of them or make slight in front of others. More people on YT should consider that method instead of making fun of others. It makes the world a better place for us all. 😉
It's hilarious how many people think this guy is running the bit backwards. Haven't they ever watched those old Western movies where the crew rigged those spoked wagon wheels to run in reverse the whole film, just to mess with our heads? ;D Do you think he would actually have drilled through the rubber with the bit reversing?
Cool thanks for sharing. I have a really old pressure washer that is on its last legs (it's made by Honda and will probably never die). Anyway, $5 for a can of foam should work nicely for both tires. (No I'm not going to spend $40 for tires on a worn out washer)...oh yeah, I just want to mention you had your drill in reverse drilling those holes.
Call a local commercial tire shop, the A & B Foam is for offroad tractors, the Dump, Construction Sites, etc, but they'll fill anything. Including lawn tractors. When done, my Backhoe front tires wieghed over 200 lbs each. If you need extra weight for your Lawn Tractor, it's permanent
Tne hardware store stuff dont work. I have a couple of 8 inch tires on a riding mower done right. By a tire shop. Must weigh 50 pounds. Got a couple of flat free tires for the front of a othe riding mower. Expensive but they work.
Did this about two years ago. Kept the wheel on the axle to spin it after getting about half of the can into it. Using the centrifugal force to disperse the foam evenly. Haven't had an issue. Only used one can on a 22.5 x 7.50 - 12.
I want to do this on my small lawn utility trailer two tires, the tube is no good & still inside tires with no valve stem protruding, old tires. Do I need to remove tube before installing this foam?
I will try about anything. I can't mow the lawn without picking up a few thornes. Bodark and misquote. I have decent luck with Slime.Tried the black can that is big gap foam. It couldn't handle the weight of the little riding mower. The small gap foam might be stronger but I am through with foam. I put boat trailer tires on the Craftsman lawn tractor. I put tubes in them with the slime in them. I think that will work better for me. I have had them awhile. I think they are the Slime brand. I use a lot of Slime. It will eventually turn to mud.
Checkout ProjectFarm's YT channel. He did a review on different tire repair in-a-can products and one was phenomenal, but I never heard of it before and can't tell you what it is now.
Thanks I was thinking on the tire that kept eating the great stuff I might have had some old slime left in the tire. The rear tires look good but haven't used them yet.
Took the big gap foam out of the front tire. Pulled the thornes out and put in a tube.Added some red stuff that I got cheap because the pump is no good. Had an extra pump. I tried the foam It didn't work. Time to move on.
Gave ya the benefit of the doubt for drilling in reverse, you lost all Credibility when you sprayed the foam in the valve stem. 😄Love it !keep it up make that your thing!
I used 5 cans ($2.99 a can at Walmart) to see if this would work. Harbor Freight had a wheel that was solid for almost what I paid to fix this cart wheel. I did notice that if you use one can at a time and leave the wheel in the sun, the heat helps speed it up. I does work, and it does get hard.
You got to make two evenly spaced holes the same size as the straw and some little tiny holes all over the tire and plug the two fill holes when it's full so then foam can't escape but still draw enough air through the tiny holes for the foam to expand, be sure to start spinning the tire or rollin it around for a minute or two to even out the foam from having flat uneven spots then lay the tire horizontal to cure still occasionally spinning every couple minutes . Trial and error is how I learned how to do it this way
Very nice video I think I'll use it on the gate wheel after all of just sits there and it tends to go low over time and don't worry about the people that have harsh comments that's cuz they have no life
No problem some people are just dicks because they hide behind a keyboard ..... But I have always wanted to fill a tire full of foam but didn't know what kind would work thank you for a good video that's useful and helpful
It’s a good idea but I’m not sure if that foam is dense enough. Like to hear how it worked after running those wheels a little. I’ve had several tractor tires foam filled but it was like silicone, super heavy stuff and super expensive! ✌️
It worked out great for me. Customers had their roof repaired of replaced and nails were everywhere. I was dealing with flat tires every day. Problem solved.
"Government Warning: It is a violation of federal law to use the contents of this can for any purpose other than directed." Now if you'll excuse me...I have to get back to cutting the tag off my mattress.
Better to use Great Stuff Pond & Stone Spray Foam. It doesn't compress and give you a flat spot when you put weight on the wheel like the other Great Stuff foam sprays do. It's almost $10 a can, but worth it.
@Philo Beddoe do you honestly truly believe that foam will stay in a continuous even padding? It will break up under weight and end up with a tyre full of lumps and debris , it doesn't dry in a flexible rubberized fashion, there's no give in it, it'll last 10 mins at most, I'm sure you will disagree once again and find yet another reason so let's hear it??????
I filled 1 front tire on my ZTR mower. The hardest part was getting the tire bead seated on the wheel. I found the GREAT STUFF at Walmart for $2.94 per can. My 4:00 X 8 tire only needed one can After I got the bead pushed out onto the rim, I drilled 4 holes just big enough to get the filler hose Into & had very little mess to clean up. My wheels are one piece and it has been really difficult to tear them down to patch the tubes. Next time I buy a mower, it will have 2 piece wheels that bolt together.
Nice idea, but the HF tubes are crap. The cart that I bought had 1 tire not holding air right out of the box, and any of the several replacement tubes lasted less than a year before the same issue. The $15 puncture sealing tubes from Lowes, not much better, not worth the extra money.
I have gotten several 10" tires with tubes from HF to build a cart with Every one has gone flat in a very short time. But I don't think this type of foam is the solution!!
You can buy pneumatic tires with steel hubs at Harbor Freight from 5 to 10 bucks each depending on the size why would you waste your time and money on Tuff Junk?
To Pauliebots, Yeah I guess, maybe it would last awhile. Someone let us know if it's a rousing success or doesn't live up, or is a dismal failure. Thanks, paulibots! seems like air pressure would still have to hold the integrity of the tire (bead etc.) Otherwise I'm thinking fill it with foam and drain all the air pressure out of it and the foam couldn't possibly hold a perfect round shape. Like you said paulie, any crushing would turn it into a mis-shapen mass, sith lumpy spots that wouldn't roll. (I think)
I just want to commend you for NOT editing out the foam blowing all over the place. (BTW: He tears down a couple of AK’s in his other videos...just sayin’). Anyway, as funny as it was, it’s also proof the we are human, and no one is perfect. Lots of critical people here, and maybe they are correct, but you hung in there and blew it out a second time...LOL, again, no edit :-). WTG.
I meant in my comment below, test it. I forgot to say let the air out and then mow your lawn on just the foam because that is the whole point of saying never get a flat again- you are relying on the foam to take the brunt of all the weight when the air is gone.
Hello yes it did hold up. The tires did get replaced for next season. The rubber was paper thin. I had to cut old tires and foam to remove. No flat tires
I ordered replacement tires before making this video. Yes hf and Tsc has tires but not smooth ones. This workout father entire season. I did have to cut off the old tires.
What a great idea! No more flat tires for me now; I did it on all four tires, but one of the tires got a swooshing sound and so I did it over as best I could and all works great now! Super video!
This does not work the foam turns into powder as other people have said DOES NOT WORK. There is a professional grade tire foam but it is next to impossible to find and very expensive if you do good luck.
Great Stuff Pond & Stone is a good alternative to that black pro grade tire foam you are talking about. It does not pulverize or compress like the other Great Stuff foams do. It's about $10 a can, though.
....? you too ? one of my dollies tires, is shot. will try this, on BOTH...no more bs problems when moving washers/dryers/etc.....that foam expands about 4 times bigger.....
I just use swimming pool noodles for all my small tires...bikes ,mower, carts, wagon ,Dolly's.....ain't changed a tire in 5 years,,,works great on kiddos bikes,,just cut to fit
OH! OK, James! You try it and let us know. Well... Did it work? Me? If my Gillette Foamy doesn't fill the tire properly, I'll take my razor-sharp Tantalum-coated Molybdenum-steel axe, and chop holes in the tire allover the place!
😂😂 facts, but this could actually work. I have a 1972 Sears Suburban 12 garden tractor, and I have the original front tires. The outer tire has a 4 inch split but they inner tube is perfect!! My plan is to put a piece of metal in between the 2 to keep the tube from bursting out
"Good thing I have my safety glasses on" you know this guy aint wearing safety glasses. No gloves, wonky drill. spraying foam all over his truck. I would think 1 can of spray foam would do the trick here if done evenly.
Anyone that does this is going to be disappointed $ buy a new tire & tube. I did everything right including adding a little water, shanking the can sec, even putting in 6 screws to hold the tire bead onto the wheel. The tire stayed on the wheel, but the Great Stuff turned to powder within 1 hour of mowing. Don't waste your time on this

For the cost of the spray foam cans... just buy a foam tire.

Advice: hold your "Good Stuff" can upside down to make sure discharging all the foam inside the can
I don't know.... is there a tube inside the can running from the top to the bottom? Usually there is in most cans of paint and other stuff so that it picks up the stuff at the bottom.

I use green slime in all my tires except for my truck and car tires!!!
Works great and never had any more problems with flat tires!!!

With green slime do you have to jack the lawnmower up ? Did you drill hole to put it in? And lastly, do you have to add air after?

Don't get in a hurry for instant results. The tire needs to sit for 4 or 5 days for the foam to cure and harden. Don't get tempted to use it the next day, you will be sorry

Thanx for showing the true deal!!

We use Great Stuff for many things. Great mess is right! Cool use!
I cant believe he tried to inject that foam through the valve 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
no doubt. maybe he never took the valve out.......
Without glasses you be blind ,not a good idea.
good idea, anyone know how much weight it will hold?
Wow, just ordered a couple cases, can't wait for the next flat! Bookmarked Vid, Nice!
It's people like this that cause nightmares later at the tire shop
Gonna do this to my furniture/appliance dolly. Tired of pumping up tires every time I use it.
This works pretty well for the people that sell the foam. It doesn't work for load carrying wheels. You will have a flat spot after the wheel sits for awhile. There are products that work. That one isn't one.

Funny stuff. When he stuck it in the valve core. I lost it.
You shoulda seen the part where he tried snortin' the stuff.
I guess they took that part out...
The foam needs 3 months to harden in the tire as once the holes seals there is no air to harden the foam. One thing they don't tell you doing this.
Have fun getting that off ur truck. Thanks for sharing u knowledge.
Ha. I came here to say "so this is how I found a used truck with random crap stuck to the bed liner"

Very nice video I think I'll use it on the gate wheel after all of just sits there and it tends to go low over time and don't worry about the people that have harsh comments that's cuz they have no life
Thank you Kevin.
No problem some people are just dicks because they hide behind a keyboard ..... But I have always wanted to fill a tire full of foam but didn't know what kind would work thank you for a good video that's useful and helpful
Our maintenance guys filled them with silicon and would run the tires till the cords would slap.
“I spended $40 on tire foam to repair a cracked POS tire” When he could’ve bought a new tire on a new rim at Harbor Freight for $20....
I thought the same thing.. waste of money.
He is short of a full load
Dummy he won't have to worry about tires anymore in general. That's why he did it
2 years later (or less) replace it again......
You need to hold the can upside down !
no you don't hold it upside down, I cut the bottom out of an empty can and tube runs to bottom of can
No you don't. It actually stops spraying when you do that. Same with spray paint. Read product info once in a while, it helps!
@@Roller76 No paint has a straw in it but not the great stuff foam !
Exactly!!
Forward drill bit works best!
😎✌️
"Government Warning: It is a violation of federal law to use the contents of this can for any purpose other than directed." Now if you'll excuse me...I have to get back to cutting the tag off my mattress.
.Hey Moe . my air mattress needs a Fixin'. .quiets yous. .SLAP. .
That was a good one brother
Better to use Great Stuff Pond & Stone Spray Foam. It doesn't compress and give you a flat spot when you put weight on the wheel like the other Great Stuff foam sprays do. It's almost $10 a can, but worth it.
Nice. I've never tried the Pond foam but I'm gonna for sure give it a try. Thanks!
He's a real genius huh
I filled 1 front tire on my ZTR mower. The hardest part was getting the tire bead seated on the wheel. I found the GREAT STUFF at Walmart for $2.94 per can. My 4:00 X 8 tire only needed one can After I got the bead pushed out onto the rim, I drilled 4 holes just big enough to get the filler hose Into & had very little mess to clean up. My wheels are one piece and it has been really difficult to tear them down to patch the tubes. Next time I buy a mower, it will have 2 piece wheels that bolt together.
Wouldn't it be easier just to buy a replacement wheel/tire brand new from Harbor Freight?
Nice idea, but the HF tubes are crap. The cart that I bought had 1 tire not holding air right out of the box, and any of the several replacement tubes lasted less than a year before the same issue. The $15 puncture sealing tubes from Lowes, not much better, not worth the extra money.
I have gotten several 10" tires with tubes from HF to build a cart with
Every one has gone flat in a very short time.
But I don't think this type of foam is the solution!!
it's a zero turn mower tire
Some people like to find ways to beat the system. Its fun.
Where how many hands does it take to fill up a car tire
I can do this to my wheel barrow tire. I bet two cans of that doesn't cost 50$ like a solid rubber tire would.
From the 'You never know until you try' category, that was a good idea! At least it will get you thru a mowing season!
You can buy pneumatic tires with steel hubs at Harbor Freight from 5 to 10 bucks each depending on the size why would you waste your time and money on Tuff Junk?
Nice video Jethro.
(I think)
what is the correct foam pressure for a tire? lol stem was removed but nothing expanded out of the valve stem ... hummmmmm
We bought solid rubber tires for our wheel barrows. $39 each.
Or just take the core out of the valve stem and fill the tire up thorough the valve stem.
Did this hold up well my friend? I have the exact same tires and they are full of plugs like yours.
Hello yes it did hold up. The tires did get replaced for next season. The rubber was paper thin. I had to cut old tires and foam to remove. No flat tires
I guess if your out off the grid that can work, however there must be a TSC or harbor freight somewhere close by.
I ordered replacement tires before making this video. Yes hf and Tsc has tires but not smooth ones. This workout father entire season. I did have to cut off the old tires.
@@how2af263 I just replace tires and wheels. Anything helps I'll tell you. Thanks.
Great idea! Thank you so much. Il definitely give it a try. 👍
What a great idea! No more flat tires for me now; I did it on all four tires, but one of the tires got a swooshing sound and so I did it over as best I could and all works great now! Super video!
This does not work the foam turns into powder as other people have said DOES NOT WORK. There is a professional grade tire foam but it is next to impossible to find and very expensive if you do good luck.
t watson aa
Goodyear commercial tire places usually can fill your tires with foam
Great Stuff Pond & Stone is a good alternative to that black pro grade tire foam you are talking about. It does not pulverize or compress like the other Great Stuff foams do. It's about $10 a can, though.
Good info, thank you!!
I need to fix my dolly Tire that sounds like a good idea there
....? you too ? one of my dollies tires, is shot. will try this, on BOTH...no more bs problems when moving washers/dryers/etc.....that foam expands about 4 times bigger.....
Can this stuff be used to fix a leaking radiator? If I fill it with foam it should fix the hole where the antifreeze leaks out right? :)
Yeah do it amd let us know how fast your car overheats lol
It works better if you hold the can upside down
I just use swimming pool noodles for all my small tires...bikes ,mower, carts, wagon ,Dolly's.....ain't changed a tire in 5 years,,,works great on kiddos bikes,,just cut to fit
You always hold the can upside down! Get it?
OH! OK, James! You try it and let us know.
Well... Did it work?
Me? If my Gillette Foamy doesn't fill the tire properly, I'll take my razor-sharp Tantalum-coated Molybdenum-steel axe, and chop holes in the tire allover the place!
Your tire guy is gonna hate you when you want new tires put on :)
Hello thanks for watching! Yes indeed I had to cut the tire off the rim.
That foam is activated by the moisture (water content) in the air. Works best with at least 40% or more RH.
This guy right here ,he ain’t too smart of a fellow if you know what I is sayin
😂😂 facts, but this could actually work. I have a 1972 Sears Suburban 12 garden tractor, and I have the original front tires. The outer tire has a 4 inch split but they inner tube is perfect!! My plan is to put a piece of metal in between the 2 to keep the tube from bursting out
Mr. Clark just might do the trick
@@joedoe4642 yeah buddy! Wish me luck. They're beautiful
Why does he hold it upright? The foam only comes out when it is upside down. All he is doing if venting the propellant
We now have invented solid tires what a way to go yippee Calle
I’m aware of this. But shipping takes time and the lawns keep growing.
And they're frickin expensive. Why spend more on tires than you spent on the tool (hand cart, wagon, wheel barrow, etc.)? Fill em with foam. 👍
"Good thing I have my safety glasses on" you know this guy aint wearing safety glasses. No gloves, wonky drill. spraying foam all over his truck. I would think 1 can of spray foam would do the trick here if done evenly.
Half at MOST. Each can should be able to do like 3 doorframes........ or half a dozen windows+.
Hahahahaha!
That's exactly what I was thinking before I read your post :)
Don't waste your time on this
you did not use enough, rear lawn and garden tires would need way more, and most front tires as well
I wouldn't really say "I did everything right" while doing any of this...
Great Stuff Pond & Stone works. It does not pulverize or compress
like the other Great Stuff foams do. It's about $10 a can, though.
