Among them are Dr. John O’Sullivan and his team at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia, who played a pivotal role. In the 1990s, a key patent was developed for wifi as “a method for radio communication” that solved the problem of radio-wave interference. This was fundamental for the wifi we use today.
Vic Hayes, often referred to as the “Father of Wifi,” chaired the IEEE committee that created the 802.11 standards in 1997. These standards are what wifi networks use today to ensure devices can communicate with each other
