Always loved him. But never herd the other albums or hits he had till now. My wife & i lived in Melbourne in the early 90s he was huge in that era'. He is one of the best male vocalists of all time . He has a range no other singers have. Incredible voice ' John. Hope you are recovering comfortably. 🙏🙏

Absolute perfection a masterpiece, also the way he just loves his audience and lovingly points and waves to them it just shows who this loving person is.
One of the best male Singer in the World.. He should have been more notised world wide. Its never to late. He still delivers fantastic vocals at the age of 71. Ps lets not forget the amazing band. Sooo much talent on that stadge.
but John is a contented man , no ego problems to ruin him. He didn't want to go and get involved in the big music machine that is the U.S. The world is finding him through youtube.
Truly a great song. We played this song at my sister's funeral service as part of a photo montage/presentation of her life.
Here's a interesting fact for you about John Farnham he's the only artist local of foreign to have achieved number one status on the Australian chart in five consecutive decades 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and Naughties (2000-2010) there's a reason why he's know as "The Voice".

@@sgtleska oh, you're so welcome. I have to tell you there are many singers I really like, but wouldn't necessarily want to buy all of their songs. But John Farnham? Oh, all his songs are exquisite, so much emotion. I didn't really discover him until about a year ago - ( had a busy life, then children in the 80s, so was busy family life onwards) . Always knew of You're the Voice but never knew who sang it until then. Since then I've been glued to his concert videos on youtube on a daily basis. My daughter found a new cd, Greatest Hits, (possibly the last new cd in the UK?). I hope I'm getting the latest documentary Finding the Voice for Christmas, and this week I went into a secondhand record shop and the owner fished out a cd - Farnham.... Then Again....in perfect condition - no indication at all that it had ever been played or even opened I am in awe of his talent, and his personality. Such perfection that I can often tear up, I just love everything he sings, he takes me to a very happy place, and I hope my 10 month old granddaughter is going to grow up with his uptempo version of Old Macdonald had a farm! To all you lovely Farnsy fans who have ever been to his concerts - I'm turning green with envy! Happy Christmas, and happy life to you all. And to John - just keep healing. You could definitely say that in 1987 Australia was a "touch of paradise" back in that time!!! A real radio track mainstay here and I remember hearing it alot as a kid. However now in 2020?! I beg to differ!!!....

It is twenty years or more since I saw him live 'in the pubs' and I can tell you he had an electrifying stage persona. I was never a big fan of 'young Johnny' until the night I saw him perform a bracket and come back for an encore or three.
BRILLIANT. His TV/audio performance is NOT A PATCH on the live Johnny that I saw.

happy memories....this album means so much to me now.....I emigrated from the UK to Mackay in QLD as this album was huge....I loved it, still do to this day.....
He and Jimmy Barnes have to wot the most powerful and distinctive voiced in the industry.. Watch John's mic technique too, he has to pull back one so many of those notes, he just hammers them out, pure vocal power... Makes it look easy but you know he's working really hard up there...

I love when he hands "walk off shaking" to the audience and then you think "aww he did that cos he cant hit the high note".......then he nails even higher ones seconds later.

There's certain notes he hits that literally sends a shiver up my spine and the hair on my head tingles. No drug or substance can convey the same feeling. Thanks for the memories.
I was thinking *exactly* the same thing. 99.99% of the time the singer exhorts the audience to sing the big notes because they can't consistently get there night after night themselves.
