+bear6264 Rick Astley mix album from the 90s. It's a great deck, sonic qualities are excellent, you might be quite surprised when you mixdown on a reel to reel tape deck. Let me know if you need anything else. Happy New Year's -Joel
Thanks Joel, appreciate your opinion ,,hey ,I can patch into a 4 track to mixdown on a stereo reel to reel right? I have one of those old yamaha MTX 4s ,some cassettes Id like to mix on a reel to reel stereo ,,your kind of deck sounds pretty good! In theory I could patch them together right? Thanks again and Happy New Year!!
Let me point out a few problems with this machine. 1. The transport controls are not "full Logic". That means that if you hit play while in FF or RW, the tape will snap or spool off the transport. It's scary, so DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! 2. The level meter's ballistic qualities are awful. They are not VU or Peak reading. Instead, they just flop around with the music. 3. The auto level control runs by a slow motor that controls the input volume. As for the good features: 1. This machine has four tape speeds, the top speed of 15ips requires a change of the capstan and pinch roller. Those parts are hidden behind the head cover. 2. It has a beautiful wood veneer cabinet and cover. 3. The transport has three motors. 4. The built in amp and speakers sound really decent. 5. The build quality is very good. Mine is 40 years old and still works, although the electronics are noisy, the heads have virtually no wear.
Doug B, to fix the noise level i have changed the transistors of input and output with new equivalent less noisy, and a semi full recap, the outcome is awesome!. Best regards.
Thanks
You're quite welcome! =)

Ha! Ha! You're funny. I think there may be something wrong with your deck. Mine will not go directly form FF or RW to Play without hitting stop first.
