It's great seeing footage of Maurice on drums, since you never see any of him drumming, especially with EWF. In EWF's early days(pre-Phil Bailey), he was the sole drummer and drummed onstage and in the studio. Of course, at the height of EWF's popularity, he was out front singing while Ralph Johnson and Fred White drummed. Most of the drumming on EWF's albums was done by Maurice himself, though..
I play this every New Years now because of it's warm clubby feel. Being in my 80's I don't always make it to any actual venue, and this always fill the bill. Never been to Hermosa Beach but thru the magic of social media I met some friends of my California nephews & nieces who friended me and they had been lounge lizards at the Lighthouse and heard Ramsay play this very tune..some 50+ years ago.
