Titan hijacked many HMT engineers with more money. these HMT engineers having enjoyed wonderful tenure including foreign training betrayed the mother company and fell for titans and sold themselves, sold the technical knowledge to Titan, shame on them, HMT became extinct very pathetically. They have no morality and respect for the parent company which gave everything to the families. Even upto the level of executive director migrated to Titan kicking the parent company. No honesty no integrity.
If Titan not, someone from foreign will hijack, atleast tata ours
And Today Titan is the 3rd biggest Tata company after TCS and Tata Motors.

Sir today available hmt watches in India only in Bangalore at 4 show rooms, ABD building jalahalli,hmt bhavana ballariroad, Barton center MG road,and hmt museum near gangamma circle Bangalore.
Joined HMT Machine Tools Jalahalli as Engineer Trainee on 28 Jul 1984 after graduating from IISc Bangalore , exactly 38 years ago , on Bheemanamavasya Day , and by coincidence 28 July 2022 is also Bheemanamavasya. Left HMT in March 1995 after 11 years of joining. Emigrated to Canada on 28 July 2005 , exactly 21 years of joining HMT. HMT's downfall was a self inflicted implosion.

Yes, we stayed in BEL Quarters close by. Thefts of precious metals in small quantities from HMT factory were heard of. Women would roll gold thin strips in their hair or ear rings. Many were caught and punished too. We never thought the consequences would be this bad.

We do have lot of old HMT engineers around us who are excellent in their skills and learnt many engineering things from them and we wonder how company fails having such wonderful engineers but reason being they lost many good engineers to Titan may be that could be the sole reason behind HMT's collapse. Same thing happened with VISL n MPM factories at Bhadraavati.
When workers union and collided with management corruption then the fall down of HMT started.
