It’s Friday night and there’s an hour long video to watch. Life is good! Not to mention a surprise appearance by Justin!
Those are some big boulders. When you went to try and pick up that big one and the machine raised up, I knew that was more than it could handle.

For a little while I thought that first big rock was going to be a tombstone that said “Here lies a Volvo 220 that tried to move me”
There is a saying in some areas, Today’s farmland is tomorrow’s sud-division. Hope no one tries to build on the Boulder pit.

Yes, at his front gate, a few big ones stacked or layered!

Once in the 80's I moved a large rock in my A35c.
It was so big that it just fitted in the back of the A35
and it still remains where I tipped it next to the road.
Now it has got some moss on it.

It really depends on where you are in NC. Down east and the sandhills area is mostly sand. Around Raleigh it starts to get to clay and rock, then farther west you get into pure red clay. Of course, it is mostly rock in the mountains to the far west NC. It can vary in the middle of the state by driving 20-30 miles. The geology is very diverse. Chris lives 45 minutes east of me and his soil and mine are completely different. Here's an interesting link: ncgreenwaysgeology.blogspot.com/2019/08/granite-of-rolesville-batholith.html

That (BIG) O rock was so heavy, when you rolled it over. The ground shook so hard the camera adjusted where it was videoing the sky lol.

You make this work so easy. I know it has taken many turns up and down to get as good as you are maneuvering this heavy machinery. For me sitting up where you are and seeing what you see is what is so interesting. Almost like being in the driver seat. What do you do with all of those boulders? They would make for a grand rock wall don't you think?

Hey Chris, time to change the side boards on the dump truck. I know were you can find 2 cut to length and painted black.

Fun to watch, but I’m guessing not so fun to move! The poor Volvo sure is taking a beating. Got to admit there were a couple of times I was involuntarily trying to back-track as I watched a few of those over-grown pebbles teeter back towards the cab! I know how much you love getting the cab splashed with mud but if one of those bad boys comes back on ya it’s gonna leave a mark!

And they say the ancient people moved close to perfectly carved 105 ton rock's by hand with rope's, logs, and sand as lubrication. Puts things into perspective.
