Great tips! I’ve also discovered that dictating my thoughts into a text document is a useful way to improve my pronunciation. If the software understands me, chances are good that a human will, too. And if I mess up and have to say it again, I’ve already got the beginning of a transcript to get me started.
Hello from Texas Jim, Thank you for tools I will definitely use them and thank you for the video everything you guy's do helps me a lot on my journey on learning Spanish. And you & May have a great day and stay safe and healthy. And I am looking forward to the next video's.
Recording yourself is great! Jim, you are absolutely right. It is a completely different story when you record your voice. It is like dancing without a mirror and dancing in front of a mirror. You might think you are a great dancer, but when you look at yourself in the mirror is a different story hahaha.
I think some of the most difficult words are the ones that are so close to english such as the word diferente ... we want to pronouce the i like eh instead of ee ... I struggle with these type of words ... thanks for the suggestions
if you understand the "e" and "i" in Spanish are profound with more closed mouth from to bottom orientation and wider from left to right orientation, then you got most pronunciation problems solved. So the words "different" and "diferente" should indicate to you this concept.
Excellent Jim! Your word reminded me of two words that I have been working on for some time...estacionamiento and desafortunadamente. One day I'll have them down pat, then a couple of days later, I feel like I have regressed. Muy frustrante!!!
Thanks, Paul! Those are tough ones. Keep and it and you'll have them mastered. Remember, just take it slow and speed it up over time. Repetition is key. ¡Espero que estés bien! -Jim
Just discovered your awesome podcast! It’s great to have these interesting topics at an intermediate+ level. Its hard to find resources at this level that extend your capacity while not completely overwhelming you.... so BIG thanks. Also cheers for this shadowing video. I’ve been researching this concept as I’ve used it successfully in my Spanish learning in recent years. Opinions are mixed. Some teachers discount it completely. I personally have found it really useful and aim to introduce it to my English teaching. Likewise I manipulate the speed of my listening at least initially then ramp it up as I feel I am understanding all the phrases and idioms. Btw it’s not uncommon for me to listen to the same podcast 10+ times over a few weeks. For me I develop my ‘ear’ this way and it really sinks in. Yes SpanishDict is a great resource. Had never really thought about the name tho!😂 Saludos de Australia. Ps btw you have a really great neutral accent (for a gringo!) no.... “lowsientows” on your channel 😂

You don’t have to sound like a native to speak well. And ten year olds who speak Spanish as a first language still sound like kids when they speak. Your success is defined by your own personal goals. Thanks for watching! -Jim
