I'm so jealous. We were privileged to be stationed in Berlin from 1971-1974 and lived within the wall. Our eldest son was born there. We were able to travel into East Berlin with special travel passes. Going back to Germany and Berlin is still on our bucket list. We were fortunate enough to be stationed in Wuerzburg from 1987-1990 and were able to travel up to Berlin right after the wall opened and chip off pieces of the wall. A great experience for our sons.
I loved living in Germany. Every weekend I would drag 😂my children out on tours to learn the history of Europe. You should spend at least two to three weeks touring Germany. You will love it ❤
We were on the Pride as well for that cruise. We chose not to go to Berlin because in talking to people and doing research, there is so much to see in Berlin and you are only there for a few hours because of the long transportation times there and back. We decided Berlin was better seen as part of a land tour of Germany. Instead, we went on the ships sponsored tour to Hanseatic Wismar and then to Schwerin and the Schwerin Castel (castle). Also a fantastic tour and we are glad we went. So just a future option for you should you find your self back there. We certainly want to do the Baltic again.
In Germany there used to be bathrooms with a metal troughs for urinals ( ASU Stadium used to also ). Others you would just go against a ceramic tile wall and the urine would drain away at the bottom. My favorite was one that had porcelain urinals but instead of being plumbed, the urine would go and drain against the tile wall and down to drain away ! Travel is such a learning experience !
Thanks for taking us along. We went to Germany for the World Cup in 2006 and one of our stops was in Berlin. It was something to see the Berlin Wall in person after watching it come down on the news as a young adult. Mathew did a great job on giving us information about the history of things. You should definitely go back when you have time.
Berlin is a geat place been there about 17 times. My grandparents lived there until their passing. Also Romania is where my mom was born. A great place too. I hope you got to see the zoo, its amazing. Going to Berlin next year to intern my dad with his parents.
Hey, thanks guys for the video tour of Berlin definitely powerful thought-provoking the food was interesting. It was so cool seeing Jamie chug that beer and to see the shiny public restrooms. There are some major cities in the United States that could use something like that. Take care safe travels.
Hi.....I am reaching out to all of my FAVORITE vloggers. I have been searching for a packable day backpack with a secure zipper compartment on the backside (part of the backpack that is against your back) for wallet, phone, etc.. So far, no luck. Thanks and keep up on the GREAT videos.

What a unique type of memorial. Sharon definitely made me chuckle with the open door men’s rooms!😂
Nuremberg is also full of history if you go back. I’ve never been to Berlin but would like too!
Achtung...another great V-Log of your European adventures....Dankaschien
