- As we have made so many changes to our van since the last Van Tour last year we thought we'd give you an up to date tour so you can see what the van looks like now, although since filming this we have found a hidden cupboard and make a few other very minor changes. Vans are never finished they say, and "they" are right 😜

Great bus. Very watchable presentation. Thanks John and Mandy.
I like what you've done at the back, it's unique looking and functional. The whole thing simply looks better when the doors are open.
Gorgeous! Fellow Aussie here. I have the Avan Applause 500 2016 Fiat Ducato 2.3lt 150 multijet but theres a lot in it I dont need or use, like the domestic air conditioner on the roof. Plan to have it removed eventually, sealed up and another 150W solar panels added.
Love your lighting and open under bed space. Mine is closed off and compartmentalised with draws etc. wastes so much storage space. I never use my shower, prefer long hot public showers, so its a laundry, also have a rangehood I never use, just open the windows when cooking.
If the next one gets custom made a lot will go. Love the color of the van, wish I had an oven instead of an unused microwave. Freecamp always. Thanks for the vid. Happy travels. Im FT 3.5 years so far. Magic! Overlooking the ocean as I write 👍🖖
So... no light, no Love. 😞
But... when your Love light’s shining, every cloud’s got a silver, lining! 😃
Loving the upgrades and personalisation. 👍
Massive thumbs up , what an improvement now it really looks like home and Mandy is a lucky lady with all that space in her cooking zone , clothes drying facilities and privacy when in bed that girl is spoilt . Brilliant tour and I love the comment the seat was too soft for Mevi when travelling, off topic but really chuffed he’s finally got his van back on the road. Good luck you two happy travels 👍👍
Love the van, especially all your alterations and add ons, Happy touring. 👍
Nice tour! I enjoyed your sense of humor! It seems like you get along nicely. That’s a must when you live in a van! Thanks.
I was very impressed with it from behind! Mandy’s back doors are super. Enjoy x
Lovely van tour 👍 like all the changes and additions 😊 Mandy's back doors are beautiful ❤️ ... 🤗 👵🏼🐾🐾🤠
Cracking job John and Mandy 👍 Lots of hard work, but well worth it in the end 👍
Great tour John and Mandy. Great job on the improvements over the factory standard as well!👍
Great Van Tour John all you hard work has paid off and good look with your full time van life just started van life myself and i learn so mush from your videos with my van build keep up the good work you do
Hi John, Mandy, Coop. The van's come a long way and now it's your new home. I like Coop's den, I'm sure i could fit in there somehow! But...you've left something out John, and it's a big one. You've plugged the coffee machine into 13A, but you haven't plumbed Mandy into the coffee machine !!!! That's your next project John, so get the finger out. Super job on improving the van, it's a good'un. PS...I like Mandy's back doors too. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe guys and keep up the good work. 👍🐕🖖😎
Looks amazing guys! I can see the pride in what you've done to it too! Looking forward to seeing you both adventuring soon! Xx
Great video Mandy John , you have shown some fantastic tips . Love the idea of the inverters
Cracking van ,you both deserve a round of applause ,hope your travels go well ,am just starting my own build ,if my van ends up half has good has your own van ,i will be well pleased .bravo.
really funny and entertaining (mandy´s back doors, the fridge just for chocolates, the shower comments…. cracking!) nice van too. thanks for sharing.
Excellent video. Nice van and neat improvements. Lots of ideas for someone like myself new to campervanning (with a dog)! 😀
What a great van! Absolute luxury. I'm fuming here. Thanks for sharing this great video ....
Brilliant ! I was stuck on what to do with the back of my van I will definitely be pinching your idea 👍
Great video really well put together 👍 you've done lots of hard work on the van and it's paid off it looks great with plenty of gadgets 😉 have a great weekend guys ❤️✌️
I've seen a zillion Van tours and I will tell you, yours is one of the best!
we buying one this month, appreciate your advice. Thank- You for your input
Some cracking updates. Will make life a lot better. Cheers for the look round..
Brilliant van ideal for you and Mandy..thanks for sharing
Hi John/Mandy, All looking great and ready for the off. The last one out the house don't forget to turn the lights off. The very best of luck on your new venture, Don't think the van could be any better. ATB Glen. 👍
Oh, forgot to mention that I stumbled over your channel via Greg's recommendation and of course subscribed immediately. Well deserved! 👍🏼😉
Great video, I didn't view the Gadjet Bus at the weekend as i wanted to see it in all its glory and finished (its never ending :-) so can't wait for The Boondockers Bash... it looks Fantastic Well Done Guys!
LOL, sign of a real man that ,taking out the one's and two's ,great design and crafting Mandy, new sub here.
In the middle of my conversion so managed to get lots of ideas from you.... I particularly liked "Mandy's back doors". (You're a funny man 🤣)
My van isn't as high (Ford Transit Custom LWB with high roof) but I will also have my bed in a similar position so I loved Mandy's ideas with the weighted fabric to cover things when "Mandy's back doors are open" (You started it!).
Anyway great video, made me laugh and also got lots of ideas, so thanks for posting! 😁
You and B-Roll Mandy have practically rebuilt the sodding van 😁, great work! I salute you both 🙋♂️. Now time to enjoy the fruits of your labour guys 😉👌👍👍👍.
Cheers bud, can't wait to kick off this adventure into full-time vanlife.
fab vid guys , and can see how popular doing the van tour would be , thanks for the tour 😎
Great tour, great van. Hope you are still enjoying it
I was smiling throughout your video! Such a lovely couple 😊 and beautiful van! ❤️ new sub from 🇨🇦 😊
Love the WiFi hotspot such a fab idea ... van looks lovely 😊
Van is looking top notch mate, great job both of you 😊👍
Hi Jon, I have a similar vehicle and have added a second sliding table connecting rail - low down on the panel behind the sliding door ( where you have your stickers). This enables you to use your table outside in fine weather. I also use mine to cook on - with a gas camping BBQ and hot plate. Great for fish etc and keeping food smells out of the van. You can get them on eBay for £20.
Really nice and honest video ...giving me lots of help, advice and ideas for my go at it 👍👍
Awesome van dude! Love the gadgets and never thought of the USB switches, so cheers for that! Will definitely be investing in some 👍 take care matey!
Love your videos John! Your website is also very cool. I've already put some items on my wishlist. Oh, your van is also very nice of course ;-)
Excellent job, looks amazing John (and Mandy :-) )
Newbie here but impressed with your sleeping area and layout. Love Mandy’s privacy curtain too !
A lovely van you have there folks, give the dog a hug👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great vid . Van looks slick. I was looking at sprinters but yours might have change my mind . Keep living the dream
Carpy Stevo unless you are not so tall, sprinters are narrower at bed height compared to fiat platform. This is why, I believe, the fiat platform is so common.
Looks Great Now John & Mandy :-) Happy Adventures in your New Home :-)
Thanks Russ 👍🏼
Stunning van and the alterations you have made are superb, we'll done to the both of you.
ATB dave
Excellent. Van people who are not too serious and have a fab van and, most importantly, a dog. 🥂
great one John keep them coming
Brilliant! Congratulations. Well done you.
It's all come together very nicely.
You lucky boy. Where do I get my own Mandy. Great what you’re doing. Thanks for sharing.
Best of luck guys now enjoy your hard work and live your dreams. Let me know when you are around Glasgow. Cheers...
Looks fab guys. Great job 👍🏻
Great job you guys can’t wait to watch you new adventures as full timers, one day when I finally get a van I hope to meet you at a meet up 😃
in Sept 2021 I needed your good sence
Wow you have worked really hard on the improvements and have made a brilliant job. Have fun on your adventures x
Thanks Julie, it’s amazing what you can do if you get out of your comfort zone.
Hiya guys looking great... Stytch and crew. 🍻👌👍
excellent great tour looking forward to your adventures :-)
I found this searching for the FIAT 900T Amigo! Wonderful stuff.
love it. great built! wish i could have one of those
Yes john .. we luv mandys back door to .. or as we affectionately known her (the wild one ) ...super fabbo in every direction guys carryon pip pips ...happy trails ...😁
The Wild one 😜
@@johnmandy 😁
Just wacth your 1 yr annivesary vanlife video, saw your first van, and well it was quite nice, but yeah cooper would enjoy bigger space... awesome..
So that’s where the crisps and the biscuits are kept 👍 nice one see you soooooooon 👍🍺😀🐾❤️🍟
Can’t live without a good snack 😜
Nice one! 👍🏼😉
Should've mentioned that you seem to have a full cooker/oven combo. That would be a must for me, being a hobby cook. I'd be "displeased" with not having a shower though. 😁
Anyway, great van and I'm sure you're going to have loads of fun with it. 👍🏼😉
Very interesting John thinking about doing something similar currently have a T6 that's sadly going in the new year for something slightly bigger. Hope to meet you guys on our travels - cheers
Looking awesome👍
Cool video, thought I had for my van is back doors open to 90° run a light tarp over the top and down the end of doors
Thank you
Looks good, great ideas.
Very nice!!! I hope to meet and hang out with you guys once I get my van. Love your personalities.
Yes. Two lovely personalities. Very easy to warm to. You can't fake that.
Looks great guys 😀
Well thought out set up🤟
One hour for the vinyl wrap had to laugh 😂
Merry Christmas John and Mandy
Love the mods you done, but judging by your latest video in Portugal you're thinking of doing it all again in a larger van. Good luck.
Finally get our 2018 Sunlight Cliff 600 (fiat ducato) ex-rental next week, Think we will also struggle with the bed height as the wife is only five foot two inch.
Nice tour 👌
Looks great, nice to see all the improvements and refinements You need a posh badge now that says 'Refined by The Gadgets' or maybe 'Redesigned by Gadget John' & 'Styled by Bee_Roll-Mandy' - like the Ferraris & Fiats used to get the 'Styled by Pininfarina' for the special models 🙂🚐😎
Get a Greg Approves sticker too 😁
very nice van and video.
Lovely van and looking to do same . Thanks for the link of bus stuff
Any more mods and I reckon you'll be close to having done enough to put a "Built not Bought" sticker on it. Maxxfan over the dining area would make a huge difference to ventilation plus some extra daylight up front.
Reet like the wooden floor thingy in your bathroom 👍
all those little touches make your van pop mate
It really is a great setup John, your improvements are great but I bet it carries on evolving as you go 👍. So has Mandy made you pay for all those comments yet 😂.
As usual John and Mandy a great video well put together and your presentation skills are great easy watching. 😃
I always end up paying for my cheeky comments 😇
Looking good. Once the house has sold sold you no doubt have plans to travel. I will be interested to see where you go for the winter.
Full marks on the electrics. You know your stuff and it is integrated well. Yes fairy lights are very important.
Not enough dog coverage. Dogs are important parts of Van Life blogging. They can also help keep/get fit with lots of long walks.
Plenty of woodwork videos on UA-cam to help you reach expert level.
I must check to see how you routed the reversing camera wiring assuming that's in a previous video. I appear to have power provided up at the stop light but not the video cable.
I discovered that the Hymer badge on the van's grill was just fitted over the Fiat badge without affecting it so I now have a nice Fiat badge instead of the Hymer one. Still have a few badges but many less than when new.
I have a Fiat badge to fit in place of the autofail badge, just not got round to that yet. The reversing camera for the Garmin is wireless but the one for the rear view mirror came with the van. We do film some cooper bits, but it's just us not knowing how much to include of him and if people like that. We're still learning 👍🏻
@@johnmandy We like dogs and they add flavour to videos.
Nice video..... No bullshit nd seems like a really cool guy to meet on a trip
You have done a lot of work to your van. It looks great, destination open road.
Nice van tour, totally honest about what was 'wrong' with your van, built by the 'big guys' , but they don't put the love into it like a self build or a revamp does ( lots of blood, sweat & tears) we have been watching you guys for a while for inspiration. Our first trip in our self build was to Camp Quirky 2019, had no idea you were all there!
What a shame we missed us, it was so big it was easy to miss people though.
@@johnmandy we are booked in to the Boondockers Bash so will come and say hi if youre there!
See you there 👍🏼
Inspiring, just subscribed 👍
Love your van. Wish you could put some of your gadgets on my motorhome x
Loving the rear door treatment - did you do a video showing how to do them? Want to cover the standard plastic covers on mine and was thinking of using the 4 way stretch carpet - but your idea looks great but a "how to do" video would really help
Yes, there’s links to the build videos shown during this video. Look for the white i that shows in the top right of the video.
Excellent 👌👍😀 Job
Great idea 2nd toilet casettee
Now about Mandy's back doors, I don't think we got into them enough, they do look nice how do we judge them is it same rules as the chip score? lol
excellent tour. many thanks. Do you have a truma heater, diesel or gas/propane? Wha tsi better at your view? Thanks
Thanks, I have a gas/lpg truma heater and it’s really good.
OMG! So many innuendos, I wash shouting "that's what she said" 😂🤣😂🤣😂 great van tour guys, I noticed you've wrapped/insulated the water tank/pipes under the van, did that help you last year...might do that to mine for this winter now I've seen it 👍🏻😁
We wrapped the pipes and tanks after we fitted the heater pads that keep the tanks from freezing up. Not had any issues but it wasn't that cold this winter. Innuendo bingo 😜
@@johnmandy Hi. Could I ask whether you've experienced any issues with durability of the insulation in such an exposed position, and how is it affected by road muck etc?
So far it’s still on and shows no signs of wear.
loved the vid m8 but all the things you mention here no generator a little 2 or 3 kV would help ? or not? I know I wouldn't be without mine in the motorhome before my health meant had to give it up anyway m8 more power to your elbows all the best over the festive season
Brilliant job . I'm looking at doing one. Carpenter by trade. Need to get the to kids up to Scotland off grid
Thanks for the tour, love your fabric handywork with the accessory pouches on the cupboards Mandy. You mentioned about the 25l gas tank lasting a couple of days in the winter, I was just curious what kind of usage that would be ie. heating and water on constant or just a few hours a day? I'm curious as I pick my new van up in a couple of weeks and it has the same tank. Thanks :-)
In the really cold winter trips we used the heating 50% each day and set to about 20oC and the hot water went on boost once a day, we then have the fridge set to around 5oC and also we use the gas for cooking on the hob and oven too. This year we have the new Instant Pot to try and cut down a little on the gas usage, though we need to see how that turns out once we get into winters dark days.
@@johnmandy Thank you, sounds like I should be able to get a long weekend off grid use without trying too hard which is really good to know 🙂
Hi you have same engine and comfomatic as me I’ve put a tuning box on mine a few months ago and I’m getting between 3-4 miles to the gallon more on the motorway and it’s wasn’t bad before but it pulls better up the hill
Sounds good, we get an average of 33mpg and 40mpg on the motorway. Might look into getting it chipped once it’s out of warranty.
Nice van tour,I want no am getting a ridge 🐒 I can start some inventive cooking.
Thanks for this update both. Have you any thoughts about the back doors, gap between the doors when closed. During winter you can feel the draft. Just got an autosleeper campervan warwick XL, loving the freedom, but dont like the drafts lol. Thanks for advice.
I put extra door seals around all doors, so it’s fraught free at the back now 👍🏼
@@johnmandy thanks John, are these seals on your website, cheers.
They’re linked in the video/blog that covers that topic 👍🏼
Hi Mandy,
I'm wanting to make the roll up bulkhead curtain for my van. Can I just ask... is it a special type of thermal material you used or just a thick blackout material?
I like the idea of the weights in the bottom too. Our conversation is almost identical to yours.
We just bought 2 x 6ft wide by 6ft drop the email blackout curtains off eBay 👍🏼
Hi John and Mandy great video and great conversion my wife and I are looking to buy a lwb ducato would it be possible to have room for a toilet and shower.
