December 2022 Garden Update

What crazy weather... drought, cold, warm, freeze.
The garden has a lot to offer for December, but a big freeze is coming soon and it is bringing me back into the emotional memories of Winter Storm Uri.
The broccoli and cabbage are growing nicely. There are citrus to eat and more to ripen. There are hot peppers still going, and a third crop of figs that is starting to ripen.
But everything will get killed in 5 days so I guess it is time to slow down and feel through that.

The gardens here in central Oklahoma did not do very well this year. It was too dry. I am hoping for a good wet 2023, just no flooding. ; )

I am near Houston learning about permaculture and trying to get a food forest started, are there any resources that you could point me towards that are good for our climate?
I have good books on temperate food forests but nothing that is a good fit for our humid climate in Houston
