It’s only after the demise of Honorables Sidia Jatta and Halifa Sallah that Gambians will regret not fully utilizing these great minds. We’ve got some of Africa’s sharpest brains but we chose ignorance to always dictate us. Very pathetic indeed.

It’s Tim now for us to teach our children in our local language.but Gambian people have do referendum which language should be teaching in our schools, manindka or wollof?to me personally it’s not necessary to teach five language!🇬🇲

These are the two languages mostly speaking on in kmcd..
If u go to kumbo north and south u see mandinka who neva want to others language special wollof...
All languages matter... if south Africa got 11 official language 100 times bigger than Gambia. Why can't we make all languages official language... because the law cannot force any to speak or understand someone language unwillingly... if we want to do it all languages is important... I watched Senegalese parliament.. mp from cassamass speaking jola so that her jola people she representing can understood what she was saying...
Why did Senegalese don't choose only wolof and fula to speaking there??????
Democracy is all not only for majority or minority, is for ALL equal rights and justice....

Lamin Joof 5 languages is very unnecessary when others fail to understand important languages like English

English is not an important language for, it made force to us speak it without our consents...
The British are proud of their language anywhere and non of us can be proud of his/her own language...
Let us be proud to speak out own language..
I'm not proud to speak English....

This is very sad, and coming from a respected citizen who wheeled enormous influence and clout, it is frightening to hear Mr. Sidia Jatta peddle fantastical concepts that are, given the era, untimely, impractical, and self defeating..! What a paradox; first, without realizing it, he dumbdown the paramount need for academic excellence, thus a great command of the English Language by "all citizens" including members of parliament So as to read and understand Bills written in English when they involved themselves with charting our developmental agenda as a country; and equally important, understand the structure of society as a social science, basic understanding of budgetary accounting; all of which should require a citizen with a rounded horizon; and, perplexingly on the other hand however, during the same interview, reverted, though implicit, to invoking his enviable academic reservoir by citing Socrates thus rendering his interviewer into a state of thought block and could only resort to tautology- repeating and defending the relevance of his question in the first place. Unfortunately, this is the gambian paradox, and by extension, an African paradox..., sad..!!!

Baba Sidia is right it's fallacy
They are not representing our people because when they are doing their so called campaigns they speak our local languages the law should say when you are doing your campaign you should only speak English, did that make sense? How can you represent me if you're speaking a language that wouldn't understand wake up my people Gambia Sidia I support your ideas we are misleading our people.
