I like youre episodes as you probably understand, and I feel with Daisy, I love dogs and I understand she's having a hard time because of her age, hope you can take her with you for many more years With love from Northern Sweden
HI JASON 👋 GORGEOUS AREA TO CAMP AT . BREATHTAKING VIEWS SCENERY OF THE MOUNTAINS ⛰ WAY OFF IN THE BACKGROUND . I BET DAISEY JUST ENJOYS BEING WHERE YOU'RE ! GLAD YOU COULD GET THE E BIKE 🚲 TO WORK AGAIN AFTERWARDS . BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 THANK YOU 🙏 GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS 🙏
Been camping for over 60 years, since Boy Scouts. Some where along the line I started using propane but several years ago like you I switched back to liquid gas. I find it much more enjoyable, camping the way it use to (should) be. A few years back we were fishing and camping along the Columbia R. in eastern Washington and were try to fry our catch. The wind was blowing so bad we had a hard time getting the grease hot enough to fry the fish, I’ve never experienced the with a white gas stove. When I returned home I when to a secondhand/antique store I had been to a few weeks before with my wife (boring) where I had seen an older Coleman stove that looked like new for $39.99. My lucky day, it was 1/2 price Thursday and I got it for $19.99, I didn’t feel a little guilty.
Yeah I'm with you on that, the memories ahhhh ... : ). As kids camping with the family my brothers and I were always fighting over who gets to pump the stove haha. We still have that Coleman but it hasn't been used in awhile. Time to dig her out of the shop and see if she still works.
As I watch your videos the one thing that stands out is the simplicity, the beauty, the peace, the calm. Being away from human contact for days is a welcome reprieve from the crazy of the world. With Daisy by your side it’s a little peace of heaven that you call your own. Thank you for sharing it with us!
You want a single speed crank, and usually the pedal assist sensor can be removed and put on the new crank. There is a magnet ring that rotates and then a sensor device with wires to the controller that reads the magnet as it goes by.
I just simply enjoying watching your vid. Just nature and yourself, I love the soft tender music for intro. This ep you cooked my fav dish, pan fried salmon with mushroom and asparagus. I usually marinated the salmon with salt n chilli and pan fry with butter, yum 😋.
Always great to hang out with kindred spirits, my remote ranch is basically like camping in the outback and I often cook over fire and enjoy the few sounds around me consisting of wind through the trees, birds, coyotes. It’s a solitary life, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I bought my Yamaha WR 250R new back in 2008 for $6800.00. Street legal Dual Sport, On and off road. An absolutely bulletproof motor. Yamaha made these bikes for over a decade. You can buy a used one in great condition now for around $2500.00. First valve check is at 18,000 miles. First valve adjustment is at 30,000 miles. 70 MPG. I put a Safari aftermarket tank on mine. 3.5 gallons. Over 250 miles of range.
Mountain bike cranks have pieces that stick out from the centerpoint that chain rings are bolted to, which aren't present on that setup. Looks like the chain ring is driven only by the bottom bracket. Flimsy! Depending on the design of the bottom bracket, you might could get some proper trail cranks and chain ring and swap them out. If there is a sensor involved like you theorized, it's probably inside the bottom bracket.
Did a good bit of mountain biking in my younger days and I’ve had a few of those cheap sprockets fold up on me like that. Spend the money on a quality sprocket and no worries. As to compatibility with the e-bike, can’t help you there.
Have a reinforcement plate made larger than the sprocket to strengthen and protect it, it could bolt right to the plastic sprocket guard mounting holes.
Thanks for the beautiful video❤️ love watching you and Daisy! I have an older pet too, one of the things i did for her was raise up her food and water dish, her bowls fit perfectly in a stand so they don’t move. She eats so much better, and isn’t a strain on her neck and shoulders. Looking forward to your next video!
I am glad to hear that you will be spending more time in your locations. I have found that if you take the time to explore even a small area very carefully, you will begin to notice things that might have otherwise been missed in the rush to get to the next place. Bugs, plants, cliff faces, old structures...
I like the liquid fuel Coleman lanterns. Like many of us old guys, I have the liquid fuel stove that goes with it. Nice video. Beautiful videography. Thanks.
Thanks, Jason. Been giving some serious thought to an E-bike. If I get one, I'd like to be able to carry an extra battery for extra range. Kind of like carrying an extra fuel can on an ATV. Nice thing about E-bikes is they can be charged with solar provided you have enough panels. Nice spot as always, Jason. Please give sweet Daisy a couple of extra pets for all of us!
If the front chainwheel is that weak, i would be worried about the pedals too.. I suggest also switching out your pedals for a decent $20-30 pair of flat pedals with traction studs on them. Breaking a pedal can suck.
Jason, on mountain bikes they make bash guards, or protective rings, that typically replace the big ring on The traditional multi ring w Derailer front set up. However, most mountain bikes have gone to a single ring front set up, like your E-bike. In that case you use a “taco“ protective feature that secures to the frame around the base of the crank. Not sure if your set up will allow that. Sorry if I’m repeating what is already in comments from others. Message me if you want more info. Suggest also contacting manufacture for their recommended solution.
Any fat bike crank will work. You will need to make sure the spindle length is correct for that frame. Most threaded fat bike bottom bracket shells are 100mm.
Yes we are doing the same here in the UK, staying for a couple of nights and then moving on. The price of diesel has gone crazy here. Love this video it is so calm and the space is so open. 🇬🇧
Nice video as usual Jason. You might want to verify with Jackery that charging the e-bike battery is advisable. Sometimes charging a large battery with a battery can be problematic. But if it works, its a slick setup.
I am a bike mechanic and own a shop, and the issue with some ebike companies is that there is no support for either customers or shops as far as tech or parts. My suggestion to you would be to contact the place that you bought it from, as I would think that they could offer you more info. If indeed there is a speed sensor there, perhaps there is way to change that and move it to a safer location on the bike. Good luck!
I have a 1400 watt generator that I use to power power tools around my place. I got it because battery tools was expensive but a mile across the field when working on fence dragging an extension cord was impossible. But this thing is small and will run 8 hrs on a gallon of gas. Y point is it would bolt on to a bumper easy front or rear you could use it to charge your batteries when off on hikes. I know people think they are loud but actually one this small isn't that loud and with a little modification it could be even less noisy? But if your off on a hike and its charging your batteries you aren't going to care anyway. In my mind it's better than driving around unnecessarily just to charge batteries and I know you have to because solar isn't going to give you enough.
I'm thinking an ebike for the van nomads lifestyle is well worth saving up for and go with top quality built for off road use...maybe even a custom semi quasi cargo cross type build...after all it's your back up transportation.
Great episode, Jason! Thanks for featuring your ebike. I've been toying with the idea of getting an ebike or a small Honda CT50(?) so I don't have to move my van to go to the grocery store or wherever. I will probably have to use my rear cargo basket to secure it. My brother and sister-in-law both have ebikes and use them frequently on camping trips (lol...a 55ft fifth wheeler) and they love taking long rides, up to seven miles.
I've been thinking about getting one of those mini foldable e-bikes for packing in my raft while floating rivers solo. Never pulled the trigger though because I wondered if they would hold up to getting wet. I look forward to seeing how the bike holds up for you.
Good Video Again, & If You Check Jail Break He has Had A E Bike For Years & He Has A REALLY GOOD Bike Rack On His Rig ; He Has Done Videos on it & He Gives Out All The Info On Everything
Generally the torque and/or sensor control or sensor is not connected to the chain sprocket. It is very common to change out the sprockets and even get different tooth and size combinations depending or the terrain you ride. Pretty much any bike shop should be able to replace the sprocket.
So for your e bike I'd see if the sprocket can be replaced with a better one. Also get yourself a bash guard that protects the sprocket from taking a direct hit. It will help you roll right over a log without damaging the sprocket. I'm not sure how tough these e bikes are rather a traditional mountain bike but I'm thinking they're not meant for hardcore offroad use so I'd avoid going too hard.
Like that your spending more time in one place. Gives you the opportunity to “unpack” and enjoy your great setup. Also, love the fact that you include Daisy as much as possible. It’s never enough time, and worth every minute..🐶 Another great video. Thank you Jason!
Great content as always! Very inspirational!! Bummer about the bike... Off topic, but Edward came to mind. Haven't seen anything from him in awhile. Hope he's OK!
Hey Jason! There are two types of sensors… Torque or Cadence. If it’s cadence I’m sure there won’t be any problem and if you need to replace one they’re very common.
Gah, sorry to hear about the chinesium sproket. Im literally waiting for my ebikes new flywheel. Chinesium gets us all, hopefully they dont start putting it in the gas
You should not be able to bend the chainring by hand unless you're superman. You might be able to swap it out with something better but might have to switch out the bottom bracket as well. I'd be concerned about the rims and tires as well. If you don't have any physical ailments probably better get a pedal bike. Surly's are bomb proof.
Another amazing video, thank you! I don't believe your title did justice to your adventure. We love remote camping in one spot. It gives us the opportunity to enjoy the space and not be in the go-go mode. By any chance, could you share your affiliate link for that cool fold out grill? We love our Popup Fire pit. It looks like a very nice option for cooking. Thank you Mark (& Teresa)
Thanks for another quality episode, Jason. I very like the idea of staying in one spot for a few days or a week. Burning less diesel fuel, and recharging the e-bike and the Jackery with solar is cost saving, and environmentally friendly. Having the e-bike to explore with is a definite bonus. Happy Trails
That is a flimsy sprocket/chainring. You did right in just bending it back. If your careful you can use a long screwdriver and probably get it about perfect. I'd have to look at it closely but you should be able to get a new one from Amazon but try this first...go to the city and look up a used bike shop. They should have tons of old parts in stock. Most shops these days will just order whatever you need but then you pay full price. Amazon or Ebay is your best bet but you really have to know exactly what you want and theres a big learning curve to all that. Seek a professional to at least look at it.
Are there any domestic(US) E-bike manufacturers yet? Assuming if there are, they are probably tiny, one or two person artisan efforts. Sad about the component quality and lack of after-the-sale support for current mass market examples. Ps. I am the self-appointed President of the “We Love Daisy” Fan Club, Seattle Chapter!!!
Daisy is such a sweetheart. Holding down the camp while dad explores on the new ebike.
I’m liking the new “stay in place for a bit” format. Fuel prices might have caused this, but I like it!
Daisy is the SWEETEST of the sweeties!💕 I want her to live forever! Watching from Omaha, Nebraska!
I like youre episodes as you probably understand, and I feel with Daisy, I love dogs and I understand she's having a hard time because of her age, hope you can take her with you for many more years
With love from Northern Sweden
Don’t know squat about no fancy battery pedal bike, but walking with a great old sole dog seems more relaxing anyway…
Daisy is such a Treasure !
She makes me smile and makes my chin quiver when I see her 😊🥴
Love the way you meander to let Daisy stay up with you, beautiful girl she is !

Awesome video as always. I struggle watching these older videos with Daisy in them.
Appreciate the multiple might format. Also, there has to be a sturdier crank for the bike. Jason. We really love the channel.

Hey Jason...
Get yourself a Honda trail bike.
Great mileage and reliable.
I just simply enjoying watching your vid. Just nature and yourself, I love the soft tender music for intro. This ep you cooked my fav dish, pan fried salmon with mushroom and asparagus. I usually marinated the salmon with salt n chilli and pan fry with butter, yum 😋.
Gotta love Daisy. What a beauty.
another day in paradise, perfect
Nice video Jason. The camp life is the best life. I enjoyed this slower paced video.

thats amazing how cheap that part was for that bike
Well that escalated quickly ( the bike ). I’ve had 3 goldens, they were all great dogs.
Poor old Daisy. Well mannered dog, lots of hugs.
I hope the weather gets better for your shots, Colorado can be a very beautiful place.
I am glad to hear that you will be spending more time in your locations. Liking the stay in place! We do this as well. Thank you for sharing..
You have upgraded rear leaf springs. A three point hitch. Add a bumper hitch motorcycle carrier. 10 gallons and your bike.
The name says it all really
I know on many Ebikes it upgradable and pedals. I stop by bike shop n journey in town. They have them and do it for you. ThAts crazy how week it is.
Will have to look into one of those bikes 🤔
We opted for Ecotric Ebikes. So far they are good.
I like the liquid fuel Coleman lanterns. Like many of us old guys, I have the liquid fuel stove that goes with it. Nice video. Beautiful videography. Thanks.

Love your videos, keep living the life man 👍🏻
Good stuff!
Nice to have the bike to get out and do some more exploring!
Good video!
I have an E Bike and I'm pretty sure those sprockets and standardized parts and relatively cheap. You can change the gearing more to your liking too.
Jason great and pleasant video. Put it in a bike rack in the back. Might be Oregon law but ditch the bike helmet if you can.
Love that your exploring an area for a couple of days at a time❤️
This is what I needed.
I do prefer the stay put for a bit & get to see your camp set ups
Nice video as usual Jason. You might want to verify with Jackery that charging the e-bike battery is advisable. Sometimes charging a large battery with a battery can be problematic. But if it works, its a slick setup.
Me agrada estos videitos saludos desde Toluca México 👍☑️🇲🇽
Nice 👌 to watch both of you and get enjoyed through your vloge keep going and stay safe and sound . God bless both of you 🙏.

Love the one spot idea!
Go with a smaller chain ring also like a 3 to 4 inches chain ring like a bmx bike one so you clear anything

The lanterns are a good choice when out in the field. I was never good at starting them up always get even a bigger flash then what you got.
A stronger set up has four legs and hooves. Even better would have long ears and 4x4. :)
They call the front sprocket the chainring and yes most all bike parts work on ebikes got a larger one for mine from Amazon
I'm thinking an ebike for the van nomads lifestyle is well worth saving up for and go with top quality built for off road use...maybe even a custom semi quasi cargo cross type build...after all it's your back up transportation.
Almost time for Daisy's summer cut. Interested to see the bike over time in a mountain biking role rather that a paved path cruiser.
Get yourself a Tanglefoot Moonshiner bicycle, wonderful ride. Really, check it out. Thanks for another lovely kind hearted video.
Great episode, Jason! Thanks for featuring your ebike. Another great video. Thank you Jason!
Inspiring buddy
we used unleaded gas in the old green one in the 70s it never hurts them
I have only put one generator in mine sense I was 12 I'm now 63 it still works great
Great content as always! Very inspirational!! Bummer about the bike...
Off topic, but Edward came to mind. Haven't seen anything from him in awhile. Hope he's OK!

By any chance, could you share your affiliate link for that cool fold out grill? We love our Popup Fire pit. It looks like a very nice option for cooking.
Thank you
Mark (& Teresa)
Glad to see you staying in one place longer and covering more of what’s around that area. More time to enjoy the journey.
That's the flimsiest front chainring I have ever seen, either that or your thumb pressing against it is amazingly strong.
You should be able to replace that without issue. The cadence sensor will likely not be a problem.
Jason what is the name of the folding grill you used over the fire pit?
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Daisy✨
That is a flimsy sprocket/chainring. You did right in just bending it back. If your careful you can use a long screwdriver and probably get it about perfect. I'd have to look at it closely but you should be able to get a new one from Amazon but try this first...go to the city and look up a used bike shop. They should have tons of old parts in stock. daisy is the absolute sweetest. what kind of solar charging flexible panel is that if i may ask?
Can you name or provide a link for the folding cooking grate you used under the pan? Love the content.
