I totally 100 percent agree with you with over charging foreign customers and it's not about skin color, it's how they perceive you. They can tell whether you live in Ghana or not by our behavior and our dressing. Even though am dark skinned, they could tell l did not live in Ghana. That situation really frustrated me because I felt like I couldn't go shopping without assistance. It's a sad state in Ghana which I really hate. In your experiment add a black person who isn't local and I bet he or she will be charged on a higher price too.
I’m British born, whenever i go to Ghana I let my fiance do all the talking while we’re shopping etc because they can tell immediately that I’m not Ghana born and bred and they like to add on top of the real price. Its annoying. I once went to buy something and they tried to charge me GHC53, i left and sent my fiance to buy it and they charged him GHC27. The thing is, i like to add a bit more money sometimes when I’m shopping so if people were just honest about the price from the get go then they’d get extra anyway. But now I let him do the talking, as he is Ghana born and bred, he’ll haggle them down and even get discount🤷🏾♀️
Lovely family. Mrs Acheampong should consider venturing into journalism or media related in addition to UA-cam. She is great infront of a camera. Great job. Keep it up.
This was excellently done. Although you were answering questions from subscribers, the responses were shared and directed to each other and this style showcased the bond between the 2 of you! A beautiful interchange to watch! This is part of your success!
I really like your passion for children playgrounds in Ghana. This is one of the reason why I didn't like going to visit Ghana as a child, because there was barely anything to do. On the positive side this changed when I got older, because now I'm able to travel. Now I also want to relocate to Ghana and start a business. 😊
Before you come make sure you do your homework.Find out as much as you can about resettling there. Make sure you establish or re establish family connections.Get all the help you can from your parents about introducing you to family.Try and start learning the language of your parents if you haven't and also watch a lot of you tube videos especially from this lovely Acheapong couple as well as Vanessa Kambi. You will learn a lot. Last thing, plan for at least a year before you come. I learnt all of this mostly from watching the Acheapong Videos. Much love from Jamaica
You guys are so honest and open. The Dutch are very organised. I can now see why the are so advanced because of your explanation. Your Dutch culture of "inclusiveness" shines through. Thank you.
Brother Kevin and Sister Anna I both praise you settling in 🇬🇭no matter what. I have been to 🇬🇭four times, my first was 79/80. Accra our capital is the best with lovely houses, hotels, markets, clinics, roads, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and our National Sports Stadium. So Brother Kevin and Sister Anna where are you in 🇬🇭?
I Definitely agree with the price situation Mrs. Acheampong. Honesty is best. You are right, people will be happy to tip for good service but if they feel they are being upcharged, they will be less likely to tip and it hurts the business as Mr. Acheampong said. Love your Vlogs. I can relate a lot because I have been to Ghana twice. Love it there🇬🇭🇬🇭
Yes I agree that government should provide an area for kids to play dor free. But when you look at it there is no structure in the development all you see is houses house no parks or greenery. They don't develop in.the sense that they leave some land for recreational purposes.
I watched a few house tours in Ghana and I was wondering why play area was indoors and not outdoors. Thanks for helping me to understand a little about kids playing in Ghana. Sad to say when I visit home Barbados the kids play has become electronics in a year round warm climate
Greetings King and Queen Acheampong, first let me say that I really love Queen Acheampong's natural hair do and would love to see more of that hair style. Acheampong's I am really concerned about the infrastructure in Ghana at my age, however I am still interested in Ghana as a country to live out my senior years ever though prices in Accra are somewhat the same as the USA or the UK who has superior infrastructure. Now I do understand in the grand scheme of things why it's so based the chaos theory as it relates to colonialism. Thanks for sharing.
Hi k&A...love the videos 👍🏿 I'll tell you an experience I had in 2019 while in Kumasi and i'm not even mixed. It was around 8pm and I was walking in the area near the football stadium looking for some dinner. There were some bars/shops but I settled on this place cooking fried rice. I was born in Kumasi and came to Canada at 5yrs old. I understand Twi but dont speak it fluently. So I was behind a customer and I understood what the lady owner was saying to this person. When I came to order she wanted to charge me more. I asked her why you charging me more and she got angry calling me "Obroni" and just being rude for no reason. I said to her..Obroni?. I was born here. My parents, relatives are Ghanaian...I am an Ashanti. Her husband came out , settled the situation, calmed her down and he charged me the regular price and said sorry.
I have had similar experiences.... going to Jamaica. I was born there and they want to bring the price ×2. So I remember just showing my Ja. Passport and asked how much is for the yaadie price. Then the price is adjusted w apologies. I live in Ontario near Blue Mountain. I am planning to come home soon ooo. But I understand Twi and I might not speak it fluently but I have experience w my Ghanaian church family. They speak Twi more than English. I remember sitting in a group only Jamaican. My sister in Christ warmed them in Twi that I speak Twi so careful what they said. I know its uncomfortable but it's also educational for everyone . I love my people . Blessings
Hi guys!! I was in Amsterdam on my way into Tanzania. Stayed the night at this hotel across this roundabout with these statues built in the center and releasing water from their mouths I wanna say? Anyway, it was very beautiful and I loved the way the folks there drive, so nice. But you guys gave excellent advice and I think to travel and show all of Africa would be spectacular. I'm looking forward to that guys😃😃!! Very very nice guys. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
I will take your advice and take the leap of faith. You have giving so much information about Ghana. There is nothing to lose..Sun, Food and freedom. Thanks you Acheampong Family.
I know exactly what you're saying, I am a Londoner but was born in Southern Africa. I vividly recall back in them days when we used to go out to the playgrounds with swings, slides, jungle gyms etc and this was in Africa in the late 70's, 80's up until now they still exist and that was for free maintained by the councils. I'm surprised they don't have free playgrounds in Ghana.
Amazing topics , advice and encouragement! Especially on the importance of play for kids which a lot of Ghanaians don’t understand. Thank you my favourite Ghanaian family🥰🙏🏽😘
I grew up in an era where we could play outside and had to improvise etc. and now it’s no more. I don’t really think you need a playground to play. Now it’s different, parents don’t allow their kids to play outside that much anymore regardless of the lack of playgrounds.
Ta da! You just birthed your community project. You can garner support from local residents - no contribution too small especially when they will see the long term benefits... speaking about the importance of play is a great workshop to begin. You guys keep shining!!!
You guys are doing a very good job and you being in Ghana at this time is not coincidence but it was God's plan I really love the knowledge you guys are sharing and also what you guys said about playgrounds the environment children grows in determine how their social economic and mental life will be in future I love you guys ❤💙😊😀💖

My sister Anna We African are never fear with regards to prices, especially when we know that you are not a local and moreover everything is been bargain for. Love all what you guys are doing
This pricing issue is not just about Ghana. As a foreigner living in Asia, i live to see the same here. However if you speak the language ,the story slightly changes. As humans, i hope to see us erase that mentality.
You are really making a very important points on children's playground, but that is what I call; Organised play, which is one concept of playing, and there is the imaginative play, which is another, (more Ghana way), Ghana needs both.
Love your comments about playgrounds for kids..Africa needs input of ideas like you guys are sharing ..Some of these leaders want to do things but have no proper ideas or direcrions...that is the reason why the diaporan africans must contribute to the development of africa. You guys are part of the solution and africa needs your ideas...coming from Europe.Africa is still a green land that has so much to offer...that a why africans must jealously guard and protect the beauty of africa
You guys are a beautiful family love your videos. My fiance lives in Ghana in Osu i have been to Ghana 3 times its so beautiful i love it there. I do understand how some will over charge you but i dont like the pressure to beg for lower price either so my fiance will handle everything for me.

A comment about a bartering system. When one/customer asks how much? The vendor is telling you what THEY think it's worth. Now, I for one will ONLY pay that price if I agree. If you don't agree to a vendor's price, just state what the product is worth to YOU. View as just having a conversation. That way, when the next customer comes along, the vendor will have an idea of what their product is worth not just in their terms, but in the customer's terms as well. Recall a time when have you bought an item with a set price and felt you paid way too much. Wouldn't it have been better if you could state what the product was worth to you, AND the vendor agreed? It is a "good thing" to share with someone/vendor what you think the item is worth and the vendor agrees with you! I view bartering as a positive mutual respectful conversation between two people. For me sometimes it is worth paying let's say 10 cedis for a mango, if I have no mangos at home. Another time, if I have a many mangos at home, then 5 cedis would be a better price for me, at that time. I like a bartering system because it is not one-way (vendor only sets the price), it is a two-way (me and the vendor sets the price). I also find a bartering system is being respectful to my way of thinking too.
You both look great MashaAllah. Been watching you since the beginning and it's so nice to see how you have progressed and seem happy in Ghana 🇬🇭😊 BTW. I think that place with animals is a Petting Zoo. Is it possible to facetime Kevin's mum, perhaps a family youth can help her to get online? I look forward to the experiment comparing prices to people of 3 races. My NYC neighborhood had free playgrounds but to remedy children without smaller means from lacking social experiences, my kind mother treated groups of neighborhood children to the movies, amusement parks, puppet theatre, bowling & more.
All over Africa, any indication of being connected to abroad, via travels or being born there, attracts higher price. It doesn't matter if you are black or white. Black Americans complain about the same issue.
