There are hints in the game and after this where their facial expressions change which could mean Hakorou came back, but not with his mask. I seen the anime part but not game part but I heard that the game gives more of a hint.

@TheGreatBman9 I think in this case, its the usual ending with an encouraging statement. Although according to some other sources, there are hints that they meet in the game but the hints are not there in the anime...
