- It's classroom setup day THREE!! It's the day I have been looking forward to most: decorating day!!! This is the day where we put the final touches on the classroom. My goal of creating a comfortable, productive and organized space to welcome my 2024-2025 group of students is nearly accomplished. Though, insider info here, there will actually be a DAY 4 in this mini series! The decorating proved to be too much fun and a little too time consuming to fit into a single vlog. So, stay tuned for Day 4 where the decorating will continue!
If you missed Classroom Setup Days 1 or 2 be sure to go back and check those out too! It's been a labor of love, but it is so satisfying to see where we started and where we are now with our space. I tried a new method this year of tackling the chaos that is reopening a classroom after it has been packed up for weeks. On Day 1 we set out to tackle the big items. We arranged furniture items and got the layout of the classroom finalized. On Day 2 we focused exclusively on organizing E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! This meant we tackled bookshelves, weeding through materials that were no longer needed and organized everything else that we crossed paths with. And then, came today, Day 3. Decorating day! This process, first tackle furniture items, next organize everything and lastly decorate, has been really successful! It only took me 13 years os setting up classrooms to really feel like I am in the groove with how to break apart the process of reopening.a classroom, but, as they say, better late than never. Now back to today's vlog! Let's decorate this classroom!!

Love your room. Just a soft reminder that ADHD children can have some difficulties focusing if the room is too distracting. I have ADD and I would focus on things moving, like if the air conditioning turns on and blows the lanterns. Have a great year.
Great reminder, thank you! Fellow ADHD teacher myself. You’re so right that it’s important to remember that things like moving objects can be a distraction. Every person’s ADHD presents differently and is as unique as each person is. Appreciate your comment ❤️
I love your room. People may never understand how important is to make our classrooms feel like home, because we do spend most part of our day there. We need to make it cozy n nice. ❤ love your room

@141986rosa you are so right about this! We spend so much time in our classrooms and the more comfortable the space is for us the more comfortable it will feel to our students too. We set the pace and our students feed off of our energy. We do our best teaching when we’re comfortable and confident!
It’s just so important! I feel like I’ve done the best job with this, this year and I’m excited to see how it improves the overall learning in our room!
