Some things I know there will be questions on: 1. Cell pics from this morning at the nest, Friday, 9-27-24, in my “community” section. 2. The cams went offline at 6:11 PM yesterday, 6-26-24. We will wait to see a post regarding the cams from the moderator team on the SWFL Eagle Cam website banner. You can view the banner each day for updates throughout the day. Here is the link: dickpritchettrealestate.com/southwest-florida-eagle-cam/ 3. The thick dead branch (log) in the nest will not be removed from the nest by the team. USFWS will only issue a permit/allow an item to be removed from a nest if it is a manmade object, and the item is posing a threat to the eagles. That is not the case here. The eagles are unlikely to be able to move this branch with their beaks, as it is too awkward/heavy/thick. It will likely be buried/covered with nesting material. They have about two months to work on their nest before egg laying.
Tyvm Androcat for the explanations 👍I hate hearing and seeing these high winds😢 There's nothing any of us can do about nature 😞 Be safe M15 and F23, and be careful flying 🙏🦅🦅
Tropical storm warnings, hurricane off shore, strong winds; no problem for M15 and F23. The nest is their #1 priority. Amazing! Thank you so much Androcat. 💜🦅🦅💜
@catherinebreitfeller669. She cannot do that. She snapped that dead branch. That is completely different from lifting dead weight now partially buried in the nest.
Tropical storm winds no problem for Fr& M. Except for the stick who really wanted to be bling for M15. M15 hunkers down in nest with those gust, 🤔 hmm does that count as a nest test. He was looking awful comfy. F23 makes perfect bullseye bring in fluff, she normally leaves it hanging on the rails 😂🦅
Terri Stauffer. Ha! I didn’t even think about that, if if should count as a nest test! F23 landing the moss was awesome. She does like to drape it over the side, like an Osprey nest lol. 🦅🦅

@tigress5263. YW 🙂. It’s difficult to watch what happens when these destructive and dangerous storms come ashore. 💙🦅🦅💙
May they stay safe and their nest not get damaged 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🦅❤️🦅
So glad they are ok. ❤🦅🦅

M15 you're such a gentleman by keeping F23 safe from the awful wind by covering her up with your tail and wing.❤ Stay safe.❤🦅🦅❤

@PriscillaD225. YW 🙂. Flying in that wind, and bringing a stick and moss, wow! 🦅💙🦅
@@androcat12Ty🤗 Wish I could see that. Can’t be smooth sailing. They must use a lot of energy. Wow is right.💜🦅💜
@PriscillaD225. I am sure it is energy intensive. Just perching in those conditions is. 💙
Our resilient birds have made it through and so dis the nest ❤
Did
Just pick the log up with your feet & take it away - same way you brought it in.
