Many of Dimash's songs are songs I would never thought I listen to, or would listen to, in fact before Dimash I am not into opera whatsoever. The fact that he makes me listen to, and start to appreciate it and even loving it, has something to do with his extraordinary talent.

This is not 'Dimash's crowd', although a lot of his fans, especially from China, were there and I imagine a whole lot more Dears were created during! This was the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd European Games 2019, held at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk, Belarus on the 21st of June 2019. The games were held from 21 to 30 June and more than 3,500 athletes from 50 countries competed in 200 medal events. This was a brilliant introduction of Dimash - presumably orchestrated by Igor Krutoy - to a far greater and broader international audience than he'd been exposed to previously. The song was, I believe, the first composed by Igor especially for the voice of Dimash. {After all - who else on the planet could sing this!?} Lyrics were all about messages inspiring the athletes to 'do their best', to push forward, to not give up. {you; the crowd) love, support, embrace them, Keep going! Ever upward! etc. etc. It must have been incredibly nerve racking for Dimash to stand on that stage at what must have been the biggest crowd he'd performed before thus far and at such a prestigious event. And then he ran into trouble... You can see him repeatedly touching his ear monitors throughout for more than half of the performance. He tries to do it in movements that look like part of the performance, but he's actually trying to signal to the Tech that he has no sound. We learned later he couldn't hear the orchestra nor choir clearly and had to 'wing it'. At the same time that he was singing to the athletes; "You are greater than your problems'- Keep going" - he was doing the same! Being Dimash; he managed to keep perfect time and perfect pitch throughout. You can see the strain on his face and relief at the end - when he steps forward. The micro- control and concentration to achieve this was immense. I've always said that Dimash is a Gold Medal Standard Vocal and Performance Athlete - and here he certainly proved it. He has a red belt with stripes in Taikwando and gave up competition at 17 in fear of injury saying he was beginning to feel it in his gut. Saw a phone vid of him on the street in front of his house, running, gigantic leap in the air, a side kick extension a foot above his 6'3" drop down in a roundhouse kick. Don't believe everything you hear or read, a lot of it is untrue, and very convincing. Unless you actually hear him say it or Max, he's trusted, take it with a grain of salt, He's big business right now, people making money off of him, and most of the time, unless it's a copyright infringement, not worth pursuing. I, on the other hand, won't let my word be compromised. He still doesn't drink hot or cold beverages. He'll take a a couple of hauls off somebody's Coke, or go whole hog, order one, do the same, thinks he's gotten away with a criminal offense, looks around and grins. Everybody laughs ! Ogni Pietra is really a grandiose performance; not only because of the mezmerizing music and Dimash's spectacular vocals, but - like you said - because of the whole production: the choir, the drums, the dancers, the lights... Many have said that it's too much to take in at once. I know I had fainted if I had been in the concert. Unforgettable day: I think most Dears prefer the Gakku version because of Dimash's high notes. My favorite performance varies, but at the moment it's the one from his solo concert Arnau Kinetic voice (53:14). The concert is on his YT channel and has subtitles. The song "Ogni Pietra (Olympico)" was written by composer Igor Krutoy especially for the opening ceremony of the Second European Olympic Games in Minsk (Belarus), June 21, 2019, and based on Dimash's unique vocal abilities. This complex musical composition sounded at the moment of the solemn removal of the flag of the European Olympic Committees. "Olympico" was performed in Italian. This is an ode not only to sports, but also to man - to his capabilities and his purpose, with which he appears on Earth.
Dimash first took to the stage when he was 2 years old. A mini role in a play. He got his first piano prize at age 6. Both of his parents are singers, his mother is a soprano and he sometimes accompanied them to performances. He is therefore accustomed to the cameras since he was very small, hence his great confidence in front of them.

This is not 'Dimash's crowd', although a lot of his fans, especially from China, were there and I imagine a whole lot more Dears were created during! This was the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd European Games 2019, held at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk, Belarus on the 21st of June 2019. The games were held from 21 to 30 June and more than 3,500 athletes from 50 countries competed in 200 medal events. This was a brilliant introduction of Dimash - presumably orchestrated by Igor Krutoy - to a far greater and broader international audience than he'd been exposed to previously. The song was, I believe, the first composed by Igor especially for the voice of Dimash. {After all - who else on the planet could sing this!?}
Lyrics were all about messages inspiring the athletes to 'do their best', to push forward, to not give up. {you; the crowd) love, support, embrace them, Keep going! Ever upward! etc. etc.
It must have been incredibly nerve racking for Dimash to stand on that stage at what must have been the biggest crowd he'd performed before thus far and at such a prestigious event.
And then he ran into trouble...
You can see him repeatedly touching his ear monitors throughout for more than half of the performance. He tries to do it in movements that look like part of the performance, but he's actually trying to signal to the Tech that he has no sound. We learned later he couldn't hear the orchestra nor choir clearly and had to 'wing it'. At the same time that he was singing to the athletes; "You are greater than your problems'- Keep going" - he was doing the same! Being Dimash; he managed to keep perfect time and perfect pitch throughout.
You can see the strain on his face and relief at the end - when he steps forward. The micro- control and concentration to achieve this was immense.
I've always said that Dimash is a Gold Medal Standard Vocal and Performance Athlete - and here he certainly proved it. There should have been a Podium Medal Presentation for him! Don't you think!? 😉Anyway --- Well done Dimash. 👋👋👋

He has a red belt with stripes in Taikwando and gave up competition at 17 in fear of injury saying he was beginning to feel it in his gut. Saw a phone vid of him on the street in front of his house, running, gigantic leap in the air, a side kick extension a foot above his 6'3" drop down in a roundhouse kick. Don't believe everything you hear or read, a lot of it is untrue, and very convincing. Unless you actually hear him say it or Max, he's trusted, take it with a grain of salt, He's big business right now, people making money off of him, and most of the time, unless it's a copyright infringement, not worth pursuing. I, on the other hand, won't let my word be compromised. He still doesn't drink hot or cold beverages. He'll take a a couple of hauls off somebody's Coke, or go whole hog, order one, do the same, thinks he's gotten away with a criminal offense, looks around and grins. Everybody laughs ! Ogni Pietra is really a grandiose performance; not only because of the mezmerizing music and Dimash's spectacular vocals, but - like you said - because of the whole production: the choir, the drums, the dancers, the lights... Many have said that it's too much to take in at once. I know I had fainted if I had been in the concert.
Unforgettable day: I think most Dears prefer the Gakku version because of Dimash's high notes. My favorite performance varies, but at the moment it's the one from his solo concert Arnau Kinetic voice (53:14). The concert is on his YT channel and has subtitles.

I am puzzled why you say, "This is pretty dark." It is your perspective and you are free to say that of course. But I find the whole thing uplifting and positive. It does not come over to me as dark in any way. Still puzzled. 🤔

To me it still does, even after all comments. Just played the video again at random moments. Heard drums beating like they were going into battle, choirs singing in the back, wild gestures from dimash with a serious and somewhat angry expression. It was intens to me. not knowing the words, i was not uplifted haha

Appreciate that annemarie. Actually have an irritation/virus in my eyes for over a week now. Lately jumped over from eye to eye. Now both are pretty bad. Actually noticed myself jawning quite a bit, but tought it was just okay. To be honest the video after this is stopped midway and went to bed. So guess you’re not off that much. Wanted to keep the first reaction though and not fool anybody by rerecording it later on :)

Bruuuh it’s all about context. In a first time reaction it’s not possisble to check everything propely. Clearly the words are uplifting now that i read them well. Don’t know how i was able to experience the literal darkness, flashy lights, marching drums, angry facial expressions as darknesssss. Definitely some tough loving by Igor and Dimash. That uplifting message was send with force and persuasion.

Haha switching moods all the time lol. But maybe the lyrics are uplifting. The percussion, angry facial expressions, big gestures and choirs in the background all gave me a pretty powerful, but dark feeling. Which is no stab at the song or performance.
