Best rod blanks and components in the industry! How could you not be using the Team RainShadow Brand! It’s what I trust when building a quality Rod! Great video guys! Keep up the great work providing us builder in the industry with the best components in the world!
I found an old school 10"6' blank(the old green ones) on ebay for one of my first rod builds. You guys wrapped that carbon thick back then. The bank has a perfect action for a salmon bobber rod but felt tip heavy with the reel seat at 14". Slid it all the way up to 18" and viola! A beutifully balanced rod. I'm sure the new blanks are lighter these days, but my lesson was that you can make a terrible rod out of a great blank if you dont spend the time to make the hardware function ideally with it.
Thanks for the build story Logan. Definitely good insight. It's been a while since we made any 10'6" salmon/steelhead models in green. Feel free to give us a ring if you'd like suggestions for a future build. Thanks for watching!
Gentlemen, I'm currently building a Rain Shadow Rod model RCJB90H. It's a NOS that I've had for years and just now getting around to building it since I'm retired and doing more Offshore fishing. I can't seem to find much info in this model? It's a beautiful 7'6" rod with a blue tip section. If you have any info or if you could tell me if this blank is still available in other sizes, I'd be very grateful! Love you guys and thank you for your quality & help throughout the years.
The Blue tip color was a specialty run done for a trade show! The blank itself is still available in clear gloss, you can find all the specs here along with other RCJB Blanks with different powers and lengths. These blanks are a hybrid of E Glass and RX6 Graphite (Glass tip that spirals into RX6 graphite back end) batsonenterprises.com/90-1pc-heavy-clear-gloss-rcjb90h-cg Thank you for your support! We have sourced blank production in multiple countries over the years (including the USA.) Currently we source rod blank production in China and South Korea based on consistent quality and delivery. We list complete and candid information regarding manufacturing country of origin on our website here: batsonenterprises.com/frequently-asked-questions
Thanks for chiming in Herb. In making this video, we fully expected comments to this effect. Batson makes zero apologies regarding where we source production of rod blanks and components. We have sourced rod blanks made in the USA multiple times over the years, each time with results that are unacceptable to our professional rod building customers. That said, we continue to seek and evaluate new sources of USA-made rod blanks to meet demand from builders with stances similar to yours. Batson pulls no punches in stating our position on this topic and we will continue to partner with manufacturers that can deliver consistent quality at production scale, which is exactly what our customers expect from us. Our complete position on this topic is easily accessible on our website here: batsonenterprises.com/frequently-asked-questions
Thats fair enough but unfortunately, japan, china and south korea is the absolute king of carbon material manufacture and goods production. Theyve been doing it for the past 60 years, all the machines, troubleshooting and knowledge is all there. You would be stupid to not use them for rod blanks. hexcell isnt too bad but mitsubishi and toray carbon is the best on the market.
Joe, Bill Batson here. I have NEVER claimed or written an email saying that all Batson blanks and rod components are made in the USA. This is common knowledge in the rod building industry, which I have been a part of for over 30 years. It wouldn’t make much sense for us to mislead people individually and then publicly disclose where products are made in this video and our website FAQ section. I believe you have been mistaken. Please send me the email you have that says this. I can be reached directly through batsonenterprises.com/contact-us

Im a proud owner of 2 immortal blanks. Greetings from Serbia
I will always support companies that manufacturer their blanks inside the USA so Batson is excluded .

I have an email directly from Bill Batson and he lies and says that all his blanks and components are made in U.S.A.
