@@rmelin13231 Im with you guys. Scratch is my fave of the 3 red albums and I thank the guys for getting to tell their story thru my liner notes I did for their 4 CDs.
I've been a fan of Jim and the Cryan' Shames since 1966. He inspired me to buy a set of congas. He's a great example of following your passion regardless of the blocks that life may throw in your way. I remember him breaking multiple Ludwig tambourines on that hook every show.
It's a small world after all! I've known Dan Weiner & Fred Bolander for years (I live on the Monterey Peninsula). I saw The Cryan' Shames at The Catacombs Club in Houston-1967. Hadn't a clue who they were but they put on one o' the greatest live performances I've ever seen. Been a fan ever since. Only recently did it dawn on me that Greenburg, Glickstein, Charles, David Smith & Jones is basically a variation on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Jim Pilster-your live onstage antics were a revelation-thank you! Totally enjoyed this interview.
I know personally and from a business standpoint that jc Hooke aka jimmy pilster is a sweetheart and a very fair guy to deal with. He chooses to say nothing instead of telling all of the many not so nice stories of the biz! glad he is still at it and in a sea of real tools in the game Hooke is not a phoney baloney! Also he's from my kind of town! Me to! Thx Dom nice job lib d says ur a terrific dude to boot as well xoxo
Hook, what a great showman!!
Well done Jimmy
I will always believe "A Scratch In The Sky" by the Cryan' Shames was the best album recorded in the history of rock.
I'm right along with you on that. Not a bad track on it! Love the segue from Cobblestone Road into Dennis Dupree. It just does something to me.
