You could have sacrificed part of the Slytherin common room for the house elf quarters.
Use the paint from reference option to have pictures of the founders using your founder sims.

You can build pools underground? I got a Slytherin common room under my Harry Potter OC-s house and I couldn't build pools for the windows :(
