Juyeon as a person is really deep. He’s the type to have written poems in high school for his own enjoyment. Ngl quite a few of the members of tbz are like that. But if you get to see the stuff he says, you’d probably understand why’d he want to put out a performance like that. Also ty Mihawk for such amazing choreo
juyeon talked about how he was in a slump recently and doing this project helped him alot and gave him freedom.. according to him, dancing always gave him a sense of liberation thats why he wanted to tell his story through this piece.. him starting on his knees, signified the slump he went through and also the way the dancers seem like controlling him of some sort as the video goes on..finally, he started ignoring the dancers and gave himself freedom by dancing on his own.. the ending cut where the camera suddenly panned down, and the lyrics that go, “watch me make ‘em bow one by one” is the words that he wants to convey the most.. the audience is literally bowing down to him 💖 he’s such a great performer and constantly progressing as an artist. i cant wait for many more opportunites for the boyz to showcase their talents

Him and Tbz are the perfect combination, he's capable of bringing all of the members craziest ideas come to life. He actually confessed in an IG post today that working with juyeon for this choreography has made him regain the joy in his job
Oh so that's why I felt like the choreo resembled something EXO or taemin would have for their songs! It's Mihawk's influence Makes sense now, but Juyeon really expressed himself in this masterpiece 😍
It could have been so easy for Juyeon to take the ‘easier route’ and done something sexy and slayed it & get lots of views but he brought something completely different to AOTM and hypnotised us with his dance moves with minimal dancers and no fancy props. Not to be biased or anything but this has got to be the best AOTM dance video. He wasn’t just trying to be cool and show that he’s a good dancer/performer. HE WENT ALL TF OUT, TOLD A STORY AND BECAME A DIFFERENT TYPE OF JUYEON KDHDJDUDHDJ I honestly thought he’d do something sexy but when I found out the song was this, I was like??? HMM OKAY MAYBE NOT HAHAHAHAHAHA DID NOT EXPECT THIS THOUGH. He was right when he said this is the best performance of his life 😭
YES, in fact I was just choosing what aotm to watch at first limited to my faves only, but recently as I was waiting for Ryujin's, I decided to watch the previous ones, and I'm glad I did that. I don't even know Juyeon, but duuuude he's a damn real artist, he played, executed, portrayed it damn well. So YES BEST ONE I'VE SEEN SO FAR. Im so in love with this, Im so into abstract contemporary oml, Juyeon did an excellent job. I hope more kpop idols get into such choreos. Maybe I should finally decide to stan properly the boyz and not just support them from the sidelines...
i am not someone who understands the technicalities of dancing so i've always been impressed by kpop artists. but juyeon definitely is one of the best dancers in the industry, even from a layman's perspective. when i watched this performance i sat there transfixed, i felt breathless throughout the entirety of it. i think a big part of it, apart from his exceptional dancing, were his facial expressions. the way he looks into the camera feels like he's staring into the souls of the audience. i have a lot of respect for him!
He proved why he is a main dancer and don’t worry we love the performance and we appreciate the details and the execution of the performance. This cannot be done by just any person Juyeon embodies it. I’m so proud of him and thank for this reaction ❤️
choreography-wise this was my favorite AOTM for sure!! i've seen people on twitter saying that it was "boring" and other nonsenses like that just because he didn't have any props or scene decorations but that just shows how good of a dancer Juyeon is, he can fill the stage and tell stories with only his body
All i'm saying is, this is about dance. Not some props expo or smthng. Juyeon killed it even though he went for the minimalistic route (not attacking you, just saying those people expecting him to bring a whole living room to a studio).
Honestly this is my favorite Artist of the Month performance!! I dont know anything about The Boyz really I'm a casual listener and I loved them on Road To Kingdom and Kingdom but I dont know the members at all. I had no idea what to expect and I'm speechless!! He is an incredibly talented and beautiful dancer. This just hit differently than Wooyoung's or Yeonjun's. This is art.
What can we learn from this human? Never put expectation on juyeon. He will never as you expected. He's insane everyone. All we have to do is same with the end of that clip, knee down, bow to the king.
i love watching dances. hiphop styles is usually my go to to watch but i’m so in love with the contemporary styles. it brings out so much emotion and tells beautiful stories. i very much enjoyed watching juyeon do this. the isolation like you said is so mesmerizing
hes one of my favourite dancers amongst the newer generations of idols. hes so talented and does such a good job no matter the genre. im really glad he went with contemporary for his aotm solo, since thats not something hes able to show very often. he wouldve been so fun to watch on a show like hit the stage, but i think hes had enough competition shows lmao

Some interpretations are saying that Juyeon is like a "puppet" with strings controlling him 1:48. And he decided to break away from being in control by letting those strings disappear around him 8:16 Thus at the end He confidently stands and the camera bowing to him after. He's the king.
You might already know, but Mihawk works by SM's side with pretty much every choreo ( just a few standout examples are love shot, mmmh, kokobop, the boyz's cover of danger, Kai's solo dance in the superm teaser). And the reason I mentioned this is not to take away from Juyeon because he IS the main event here. But that's why you might be reminded a bit of Taemin. Because this choreo was made by the same person. So even with Mihawk's versatility, he definitely has a certain style to his choreos. And I'm just SO glad Mihawk worked with Juyeon for this and works with The Boyz in general because he is amazing at creating something that fits them like a glove, he knows their strengths but also how to push them. Me having Kai as a bias and Juyeon too??? Almost fainted when I discovered who made this choreo. I expected something a bit more eerie and definitely on the more abstract side. Juyeon absolutely tore this up, I feel like this fits him entirely and I'm just SO SO proud and in awe. This is intense, engaging, a little bit creepy and YES his face does a lot of work too. He's honestly one of the few idols who are just naturals when it comes to facial expressions. He just feels and knows what expression or face would fit in a certain moment, nothing feels out of place or like it's a bit of a stretch or that he's trying too hard. Moreover, the fact that he has so much control over such long limbs is quite astonishing to me, let alone his flexibility and just competence in general to pull off anything that's handed to him.
I saw u already liked a comment explaining Juyeon's thought process in this project, but just wanna add that MihawkBack, aka Baek (or Park idk) Kooyoung, the choreographer, told in his IG how he also suffered a slump and felt like his passion for creating art through dance kind of faded recently and doing this with Juyeon as well as the dancers helped him get out of it. What I was trying to say is that this collab project proved beneficial to both and their similar internalization of how to present it and execute You Should See Me in a Crown is very evident in the video, and I think that's more than beautiful.
btw, Mihawk's been helping TBZ a lot I think since mid to late 2019, and especially did collabs with Juyeon's solos eg. Juyeon's MAMA solo, etc. that's why he's very much familiar on how to fully utilize and maximize the advantage of Juyeon's long limbs, flexibility (he's always been flexible even in the early years of tbz), and strong foundation of dance techniques.
I think this one is his best choreography for Juyeon so far!! I mean I can feel that both Juyeon and Mihawk nim further improved this time. I am really thankful that Juyeon began to shine more with Mihawk's choreos (since RTK?).
Yess, I was waiting for you reaction!! Juyeon absolutely ate this perfomance. The choreo with this song and his stage precenace + charisma makes for a lethal combination! He is so freaking captivating
this is what i really love about the boyz. they have a distinct image/concept as THE BOYZ but individually they completely break that off and goes all out on their own personalities and genres. I mean ofc they're still part of tbz, that still shows. but they don't limit themselves to what they know the boyz are known for. we can see this in their a to boyz project and soundcloud releases: they have an image outside of the boyz but they are one. i cant explain it enough but imma just say i am soooo proud of juyeon for not limiting himself with the image that he has with the boyz (somewhere in the sexy side in dancing) but gave everything to tell his story. mihawk and tbz really have an amazing relationship, the genuineness in this piece is very much felt.
I got to know abt this AOTM thingy thanks to Wooyoung and have watched every previous ones. Gotta say this is my fav of all although im an ATINY. Im not tryna compare them here, it's just i've always been fascinated in contemporary dance. His movements are so feather-light yet so sharp, so on point, feel like if u pause the video at anytime u still get a beautiful picture (lol sorry for the awkward wording, english is not my first language). Also he's very beautiful, his gaze just took my breath away and i was left speechless the whole vid first time watching it, which i thought would never happen to a non-biased group. Maybe i'll check out The Boyz after this... They seems very talented too, Juyeon and Sunwoo? (the guy in Full DaSH with Bobby).

You can check out TBZ, their songs are soft and sweet overall, (which may not be so catchy) but they are really good at dancing and stage performances, especially Juyeon's stage presence is insane. (That's why he got invited for various year-end collab stages last year.)
juyeon's personality is really soft and amazing, he's really emotional and he loves to express himself in every way he can. i don' understand how some people criticize his facial expressions when dancing, it's obvious he's absolutely terrific in everything he does. he's literally the ideal type of man anyone would want.
mihawk is a well known choreographer for sm artists and one of his masterpiece is exo’s loveshot. he started working with tbz during rtk and since then he has choreographed for them - stealer, kingdom (all stages), thrill ride & juyeon aotm. from juyeon’s interview for aotm, jy mentioned that he was in a slump during this time and wanted to tell a story of how he overcame that struggle for this performance. also, mihawk posted on his ig that he was kind of losing his joy for dancing but somehow, he enjoyed and found it again while creating this choreography and how it was so rewarding to work with good artists. and i think that’s what makes this performance so special bc they both understood how each other felt, overcoming those struggles, and finding joy again in what they love. IT’S NOT JUST A PERFORMANCE, IT’S A WORK OF ART

But… *JUYEON WINS* The choreo never once felt empty, his execution was spot on the way he looked into the camera like he was about to steal your soul…. Hey Jeff! Juyeon really is beyond words! There's just no way for you to not get captivated by him. You can feel what he's feeling. And that's not something that is easy to convey... But he always does that. Can you please react to more The Boyz content? I feel like you would love Shine Shine + The Stealer Golden Disc Awards Version. But the dance practice one, because the camera man did a better job! It's so freaking good. It's still one of my favourites. The boyz are just amazing. I feel like, the fact that they are individually so talented and different from anybody else, really makes them a great unit.
I absolutely loved this. I know zero about dance, but this was so gorgeous to watch. I felt like all the isolations and the choreo as a whole made it look like all his limbs were moving totally independently (like the bit you mentioned where he looks like his upper half is being dragged by his lower half). His facial expressions, the thing with his mouth, the body control without being overly tense, everything was so good. Billie always gives me eerie glitchy energy and the choreo matched the vibe perfectly. Juyeons body proportions are perfect for this as well.

i think you know, but in case you didn't, mihawk choreographs a lot of kai's dances. and seeing mihawk work a lot with juyeon makes me think that he really sees juyeon's potential like the way he saw it with kai. i'm so excited to see what juyeon has to offer in the future!!!!!!
Always love your breakdowns, feel like I learn something new every time. To be honest, this kinda reminds me of deep breath (one of Kai's contemporary pieces) - I think it's the creepy yet royal atmosphere

And he does remind a little of TAEMIN dance abilities, but he did a great job and the dancers w him were just amazing too. It was like a great awesome shadowing to were right on point w JUYEON. Also, Mihawk and because he’s part of tapaha dance studio, tbz have a lot of opportunities to work with choreographers and backup dancers that primarily worked with sm groups since rtk.

When he dances it really looks like non human dancing to it , it's like watching animation . Face expression really important that's how you make the dance look alive . Mihawk the choreographer said it's been awhile he lost a joy in dancing but made this with Juyeon , mihawk said he regains joy in dancing again . before this came out Jojo Gomez's choreography was my favourite one for this song but this one is definitely up there as well and Juyeon's execution works so well with it

I absolutely loved this performance! I was never a big fan of Juyeon, but I was interested in watching AOTM and it really didn't disappoint. I might've watched your videos too much cause literally all I could say when watching his videos was the body likes, the isolation, and the editing. Mihawkback is the dance director of many TBZ MVs and mastermind of their RTK perf which rose them to fame. He's part of Tapaha Dance Co. home to some of the best choreographers in South Korea.
He is a little bit Kai and a little bit Taemin but still himself. They always say how they respect and inspire by Taemin but Juyeon manages to express his individuality and all of these create a very unique style of him and since you mentioned Hyunjin, in his last solo video there are moments where he looked like Juyeon and Taemin. Even I made a comment there that his dance looks like a mix of him and Juyeon. I think all of them are inspired by each other in the end.

Juyeon's MAMA solo, etc. that's why he's very much familiar on how to fully utilize and maximize the advantage of Juyeon's long limbs, flexibility (he's always been flexible even in the early years of tbz), and strong foundation of dance techniques.
I think this one is his best choreography for Juyeon so far!! I mean I can feel that both Juyeon and Mihawk nim further improved this time. I am really thankful that Juyeon began to shine more with Mihawk's choreos (since RTK?).

this is what i really love about the boyz. they have a distinct image/concept as THE BOYZ but individually they completely break that off and goes all out on their own personalities and genres. I mean ofc they're still part of tbz, that still shows. but they don't limit themselves to what they know the boyz are known for. we can see this in their a to boyz project and soundcloud releases: they have an image outside of the boyz but they are one. i cant explain it enough but imma just say i am soooo proud of juyeon for not limiting himself with the image that he has with the boyz (somewhere in the sexy side in dancing) but gave everything to tell his story. mihawk and tbz really have an amazing relationship, the genuineness in this piece is very much felt.
I got to know abt this AOTM thingy thanks to Wooyoung and have watched every previous ones. Gotta say this is my fav of all although im an ATINY. Im not tryna compare them here, it's just i've always been fascinated in contemporary dance. His movements are so feather-light yet so sharp, so on point, feel like if u pause the video at anytime u still get a beautiful picture (lol sorry for the awkward wording, english is not my first language). Also he's very beautiful, his gaze just took my breath away and i was left speechless the whole vid first time watching it, which i thought would never happen to a non-biased group.
Maybe i'll check out The Boyz after this... They seems very talented too, Juyeon and Sunwoo? (the guy in Full DaSH with Bobby).

You can check out TBZ, their songs are soft and sweet overall, (which may not be so catchy) but they are really good at dancing and stage performances, especially Juyeon's stage presence is insane. (That's why he got invited for various year-end collab stages last year.)
I'm a fan who also amazed by him this time, he just tries new things relentlessly. That's rare in a kpop idol.
juyeon's personality is really soft and amazing, he's really emotional and he loves to express himself in every way he can. i don' understand how some people criticize his facial expressions when dancing, it's obvious he's absolutely terrific in everything he does. he's literally the ideal type of man anyone would want.
mihawk is a well known choreographer for sm artists and one of his masterpiece is exo’s loveshot. he started working with tbz during rtk and since then he has choreographed for them - stealer, kingdom (all stages), thrill ride & juyeon aotm.
from juyeon’s interview for aotm, jy mentioned that he was in a slump during this time and wanted to tell a story of how he overcame that struggle for this performance. also, mihawk posted on his ig that he was kind of losing his joy for dancing but somehow, he enjoyed and found it again while creating this choreography and how it was so rewarding to work with good artists.
and i think that’s what makes this performance so special bc they both understood how each other felt, overcoming those struggles, and finding joy again in what they love.

All i can do now is do more research on the group. I think i've heard a couple of their songs and i know that they ended up second in kingdom.

Hey Jeff! Juyeon really is beyond words! There's just no way for you to not get captivated by him. You can feel what he's feeling. And that's not something that is easy to convey... But he always does that.
Can you please react to more The Boyz content? I feel like you would love Shine Shine + The Stealer Golden Disc Awards Version. But the dance practice one, because the camera man did a better job! It's so freaking good. It's still one of my favourites. The boyz are just amazing. I feel like, the fact that they are individually so talented and different from anybody else, really makes them a great unit.

I absolutely loved this. I know zero about dance, but this was so gorgeous to watch. I felt like all the isolations and the choreo as a whole made it look like all his limbs were moving totally independently (like the bit you mentioned where he looks like his upper half is being dragged by his lower half). His facial expressions, the thing with his mouth, the body control without being overly tense, everything was so good. Billie always gives me eerie glitchy energy and the choreo matched the vibe perfectly. Juyeons body proportions are perfect for this as well.

Mihawk is actually their performance director for Road To Kingdom and Kingdom (you have seen him in Road To Kingdom reaction)~ he is many of SM artists' choreographer and performance director~ he also choreographed THE BOYZ The Stealer~
i think you know, but in case you didn't, mihawk choreographs a lot of kai's dances. and seeing mihawk work a lot with juyeon makes me think that he really sees juyeon's potential like the way he saw it with kai. i'm so excited to see what juyeon has to offer in the future!!!!!!
Always love your breakdowns, feel like I learn something new every time. To be honest, this kinda reminds me of deep breath (one of Kai's contemporary pieces) - I think it's the creepy yet royal atmosphere
I just tuned into your reaction video oh THE BOYZ JUYEON ARTIST OF THE MONTH. YOUR great at this and what you saw, I saw he is amazing, I still watch it. And he does remind a little of TAEMIN dance abilities, but he did a great job and the dancers w him were just amazing too. It was like a great awesome shadowing to were right on point w JUYEON. I love it. I'm gonna watch your reactions these days and are you a dancer as well or something in that field of work.
Also, Mihawk and because he’s part of tapaha dance studio, tbz have a lot of opportunities to work with choreographers and backup dancers that primarily worked with sm groups since rtk.

I've been waiting for your reaction ! Love your reaction Jeff ! Yes , i'm speechless too . Juyeon really killing this , the danced and moved not easy at all . But he danced perfectly . When he dances it really looks like non human dancing to it , it's like watching animation . Face expression really important that's how you make the dance look alive . Mihawk the choreographer said it's been awhile he lost a joy in dancing but made this with Juyeon , mihawk said he regains joy in dancing again . Juyeon is really a fantastic dancer and a true artist .

before this came out Jojo Gomez's choreography was my favourite one for this song but this one is definitely up there as well and Juyeon's execution works so well with it

I absolutely loved this performance! I was never a big fan of Juyeon, but I was interested in watching AOTM and it really didn't disappoint. I might've watched your videos too much cause literally all I could say when watching his videos was the body likes, the isolation, and the editing. When you were just talking about I was literally screaming at my screen IKR!! It was for sure different, but I enjoyed every bit of it 💙

Mihawkback is the dance director of many TBZ MVs and mastermind of their RTK perf which rose them to fame. He's part of Tapaha Dance Co. home to some of the best choreographers in South Korea.

What I know mihawk is ten an kai friend, and I think he choreographed the dance for ten hit the stage too (pls cmiiw nctzen adn wayzenni)
He is a little bit Kai and a little bit Taemin but still himself. They always say how they respect and inspire by Taemin but Juyeon manages to express his individuality and all of these create a very unique style of him and since you mentioned Hyunjin, in his last solo video there are moments where he looked like Juyeon and Taemin. Even I made a comment there that his dance looks like a mix of him and Juyeon. I think all of them are inspired by each other in the end.
