This was exactly my problem and by pushing on both sides, it released the wand. My dyson does not work as a regular vacuum anymore (tried ordering beater bar part and it still doesn't work) but the wand works great. I have a new shark that does really well, but it 's wand is short and not very flexible. I use the shark for my area rugs and the dyson wand for getting in crevices. Problem solved. Thank you for your information, I have been googling all morning for a way to release the wand, not a kinked hose!
+1 this solved it for me.At 1:41 you don't need to do anything with those. The two plastic things at 2:25 are just flat plastic, push from both sides at the same time and they'll go inside the housing and you can remove the hand and handle etc. You actually don't need the spring part inside since the wand and hose are non-functional except when the vacuum is upright, which is typically when you want use them and they can be pulled right out.
@@tyeouellette-tolles4344 No of course not. The small orange cap tends to stick up now as there is nothing to hold the tube now the clip is gone. But it doesn't impact the performance.
The handle wouldn't come out of the vacuum. I messed with it for about an hour, kept pulling up on it and finally, it came out. The problem with my vacuum, was once you remove the handle, there's a clear clip, inside the vacuum at the top, it was stuck.
Thank you so much for your video, I have managed to fix my stuck wand. You should get a job doing this you are amazing. I,m afraid the company were unable to tell me how to reinsert the plastic clip but with your help I have succeeded. Just like you I don't like to be beaten if there is a way to fix something. Thanks again for your help.
great job! Spray spring with lubricant and run some along the gray tube. Night and day! if you are having trouble pushing it down for vacuuming, SPRAY SPRINGS NEAR ROLLER BRUSH. I Have a dc17
Hi. I made a short reply. A previous comment mentioned removing the other piece. I agree with that but did not do that for the other video. ua-cam.com/video/aja95oWtD_k/v-deo.html
You have the extra attachment on. The piece is actually has to come out. The hose is in the right place just unhook the extra part (the grey part) that is used to clean the stairs.
THANK YOU So much!! It worked. I just pressed in those two areas you mention and the wand came out.
OMG!!!! HUGE THANK YOU!!! This helped me so much!!! I can’t believe that I finally found a helpful video! You just saved me so much money!
I am so glad to hear this!!!
Thank you for the video. One squirt of WD40 on the wand handle clip (2:38) freed up the wand. Disassemble was not necessary.

This is really helpful!
Do you mind if I put this as text in the video?

Nicely done. Nice voice too.
Thank you. Got mine working again. 👍
My hose was not the problem. I figured it out. When you take entire wand off, spray WD40 at the spring clips inside the wand, fixes it right away!
This is great info.
4:37 for 10 seconds of information
Yeah, I can see that. When I make another, ill definitely try to keep it essential.
Thank you, I am having the same problem. Do you have any pictures/advice as to how to fit the clip back in correctly?

Thank you we tried it and it worked so well thank you so much
Talk about flog a dead horse, just say push these two clips tahr dah!!!
I can pull mine out but I can't get it back down to get it back onto the handle
That sounds like a jam on the lower tubing. This includes removing the hose. Keep checking...that’s all I could find when I started. Best of luck.
Mine is clogged completely how to unclog?
This video doesn't cover the clogging. I believe there are quite a few about removing them on other channels. Good luck!
I found out how! Water and clothes hanger!
@@coydog7902 neat. How didn't you get the electronics wet? Nice idea!
I did it near the sink
WOw, I really wish your camera was mounted...
I definitely agree with you! I now use a selfie stick. Takes the queasy put of it. If you slow the speed that is easier.
Thank you!
Yup

The problem was that the wire spring got jammed and was preventing that piece from coming out all together. :(
