The original mountain is soo special. Although I feel like people don't talk about the changes in 2009 and the fact that no space mountain anywhere in the world has glowing rockets anymore. Orlandos was the best with the glowing cars because the dueling aspect was lost. I miss racing the other trains in the dark. I wish they would restore the original classic elements back
Walt Disney magic Way magic app key magic New happy birthday to 60th birthday party anniversary celebration party years before New year would 65th anniversary celebration for new
The Alpha side at the Magic Kingdom was my first roller coaster - compared to some of the other rides I've been on it now feels mild, but it's still a lot of fun. And yes, that is my picture at 9:08. Thanks for giving proper credit - a lot of UA-camrs forget to do this when they lift content from Wikipedia
It amazing that attractions like the Matterhorn and Space Mountain are now considered 'tame' by today's standard but were game changers when they first opened. Just goes to show how far roller coasters have come in the last 40 years. And thank you for taking the photo! We always want to create the original source of photos and videos we use in all of our videos. Without them I don't think we would be able to create the videos like we currently do.
Cool Easter Egg Fun Fact: So working at Animal Kingdom I also worked with ACE to take guests to Pandora. Pandora is 4.4 light years away from earth in the Alpha Centauri star system. Hop over to Magic Kingdom and look at the star maps on the wall in the queue for Space Mountain, you might just notice something cool. Here’s a little hint: Each panel represents 1 light year. Kíyevame Space Rangers!

The original space mountain in Disneyland Paris is without doubt the best ride I’ve ever experienced. The concept was incredible. So sad it ever had to change. Please put it back Disney!!!
I remember I was 6 years old when I rode this in Hong Kong Disneyland back in 2005, I legit thought we actually went to space and was wondering how was I still breathing :P
There is another Space Mountain: Cyberspace Mountain at DisneyQuest I know there might not be much there to talk about but it still was a pretty popular attraction.
Can it really be considered one? It wasn't really a coaster. Depends on the person, I guess. Either way, as you said, there's not much to talk about. I'm fairly certain that it underwent little change from open to close.
I recommended that you do "The Great Movie Ride" probably about 3 years ago. I speculated that you were waiting for the new ride to take over which at the time of this comment is in full operation. You know what you have to do lol
Paul Caridi Fun fact: Space Mountain is actually more slower than Big Thunder! It feels more intense because you’re in darkness and don’t know what’s in front of you.
I used to complain that magic kingdoms version never gets overlays, seeing how some of these other iterations get changed, I’m glad it doesn’t get altered. Best theme park attraction of all time 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The roller coaster that made me love roller coasters. Being a big chicken when I was a kid that's saying something. I loved taking my daughter on it last summer. A memory I will have forever.
The Paris version of this ride is intense with loops and the whole nine yards. Only experienced it in the Hyperspace Mountain version but I really do hope they go back to the steam punk version. It just feels timeless that way.
MakilHeru the old mission two was the best, I was lucky enough to go on it as a child when DLP used to be half empty in the winter, it better come back!
Space Mountain is great, but when it comes to indoor coasters in the Orlando area, I prefer The Mummy Ride much more, and I especially love the Rock N Roller Coaster
Space Mountain helped me have the best night of my life! My family went to the Not so Scary Halloween party at WDW and the lines were non existent. In fact Space Mountain was a walk on so I got to ride Space Mountain 8 times in one night! The only reason we didn't ride it more was because my Dad (who gets sick easily) was getting bored and wanted to do something else. They've since changed it at the Halloween party (They turn off ALL the lights instead of Ghost galaxy) and I had the pleasure of riding it. It was unbelievable and they rewarded your courage by giving you candy at the exit.
This is by far my absolute favorite Disney ride and super glad you made a video talking about it! Was always enamored with the retro future look and would be spinning the whole time in que as a kid to look at everything.
Thank you for this. Space Mountain at WDW is my favorite Disney ride since 1980. I was 8 I was just there last week yes I rode it & I got my Space Mountain cookie jar too👍
I love this ride one of the first roller-coasters I went to, then in 2018 I had the opportunity of riding the Paris version and it blew me away, the Orlando one will always have a special place in my heart but the Paris one is my favorite, I don't care if it was Hyperspace when I was there, the track layout and the effects were fantastic
Ahh yes space mountain, the ride that Disney decides to tarnish with a “celebratory” permanent complete alteration into a Star Wars trash, that still hasn’t been updated since it first debuted.
Thank you! One of my fav rides at Disneyland. Could you please do one on the history of Toontown? Take it back to the 90s for us that grew up during that decade
I love this ride! Space Mountain is one of my favorite Magic Kingdom ride ever! The best seat on the ride is the front seat. I always laugh like crazy whenever I get to ride in the front on that ride!
Another great video! I love this channel, I’ve been watching it for a while now, and regularly rewatch episodes. Keep up the great work! (I’m glad Flair made his way into this video too 😂)

Awesome and thx for mentioning again. I’m hoping next video will be Radiator Springs Racers, Rise of the Resistance, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, or Fantasmic.
I remember my Mom wanting to go on Space Mountain and I was finally tall enough to ride. My Dad was not a roller coaster and fast ride person so he would patiently wait and people watch until we finished those types of rides. We got all the way to front and I chicken out. My Mom was so mad. A few years later, my Dad took myself, me best friend and her brother to Disney. She convinced me to ride Space Mountain. We rode like 10 times back to back. I told my Mom when we got home, she was mad again. She couldn’t believe it. My queue always sticks out to me. I remember it so vividly. I loved videos with Mario Lopez.
I “grew up” with Disneyland Space Mountain. We went 4 times, and that was always my favorite. When I moved to Florida, I wanted to go on Space Mountain and was sorely disappointed by it. The style of the cars made me feel super exposed and I found myself ducking and cringing, scared I was going to hit my head on something. I enjoyed the ride, but Cali was far superior.
I never knew what constituted a mountain according to Florida, but when I was growing up there, Space Mountain was considered the 3rd tallest mountain in the state. Thanks to Expedition Everest being taller, I guess it would be the 4th now. I never rode it because by the time I was big enough, I had real trouble with rides like that from a motion sickness standpoint. But man did I want to. Luckily I didn't have so much trouble with water rides so I did get to ride Splash Mountain once. But to this day, Space Mountain and Colossus at Magic Mountain are the two coasters I wish most I could have ridden. And while I'm sure Disneyland one is great, I grew up with Disney World so that's the one I mean.
Love the Mesa Verde/Horizons Easter egg in the first exit scene! Still my favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom…hopefully when TRON opens, Space Mountain will get the refurbishment it deserves in time for it’s 50th anniversary.
A really interesting one would be Lake Compounce it is an amusement park in the US which is the oldest continuously operating park. It would be really interesting to look at its history
I would love a history video about Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade! There is a vast history of versions and different floats throughout the years! It's a parade that brings happy tears to my eyes every time I see it. When I was a kid, I'd make floats using Tinker Toys, my Erector Set, and even my little brother and push them along the floor of our living room on front of my parents to the soundtrack.
I know it's not your normal thing but would you ever consider covering rides from an Australian theme park? Love the channel and excited to see what comes next
I love this ride. I got to ride space mountain as my last ride for my day visit. I loved the darkness and it was thrilling. If you haven’t done this yet, do the haunted mansion (my all time favorite Disney ride).
This is just my theory, but I wouldn't be surprised if the moving walkway at Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain exit was changed to a carpetted ramp to make it easier for guests with disabilities to exit. While the speed ramp was a straight ramp with a bit of an uphill slope at the end, the current ramp has a zig-zag at the end, extending the horizontal distance that it takes to get the same distance up.
