Everything is awesome except not to say anything about creating calendar list. As a beginner, I was struggling to find out to fix the issue with the final step related with calendar. Hi Teck, I was able to achiev this by Creating a Form from where the data gets fed into the SharePoint List (not accessible by Al Staff except the HR Team) so users do not get to edit and also see entries by other staff

Stuck at 7:40. As I dont see my calendar in the drop down - list name. Will wait for a while if the sync is taking time as I just made my calendar about half an hour ago.

It shows confirmation on my teams channle via the list I created only on the end date and not on all 4 days that i will be off. Cant show a snippet !!

You could use Power Apps - "Insert Form" then connect the database that he created in Lists. That would then be your front end im guessing. Publish the app

I was able to follow all the steps and create a workflow just like yours however I have a problem at the calendar end - the leave period gets added to the sharepoint calendar (when approved) - but in every case the dates are one day too early. e.g. If I request 5th to 10th October then the calendar will show the 4th to the 9th. yes, took me forever. i found this formula online using the start and end times. If it's greater than 1 day then add 5 minutes to the end time, then create the event. first add a with this: div(sub(ticks(triggerOutputs()?['body/End']),ticks(triggerOutputs()?['body/Start'])),864000000000) IS greater or equal to 1, then add 5 minutes to the end time (use Add to Time) -- then create the event@@gregbutler4898

Hi Anupam, there is a default column in a SharePoint list that houses the value of when an item was entered so you can make reference to tat in your flow
in the email notification there are no details on what the leave request dates are, so you couldn't really approve or reject without having this information first ?

Hi mate, very cool video - short and straight to the point. Quick question : instead o fhaving a sharepoint calendar I linked the flow to an outlook calendar. The only thing is that, when for example the leave goes from the 10th to the 15tth, outlook would only display that I'm on leave from 10th to 14th. Any idea why it is stopping a day before the actual end of the leave ? Thanks a lot.
I had to add an action, select the "add to time" to add "minutes" to the date to extend past 12:00am ( this is how Microsoft formats the last day thus not adding the final day to the calendar)

So everything was going well until i needed to add the event to the calendar ... in your video you select Request Off Calendar from the list but from the begging of your video there is no mention of another list called Request Off Calendar nor any mention of creating a specific calendar .. there is something missing just like others below stated
Hi Mark, Sorry about this.. The calendar stores the events after they have been accepted, so you could just as easily use a SharePoint Calendar, or an Office 365 calendar. To start with, first plan where you want to store the leave events after accepted. If its a SharePoint Calendar, Create the SharePoint calendar (via add app - classic experience - Calendar). Once you have that, follow the instructions and when the request is accepted - use a flow to create the item in which ever calendar you chose.

The leave request list will need to have contribute access to all employees. All employees will be able to add a list item, which will trigger the flow.
Thanks for video but when mail sent to approver - he/she does see any info about what they going to approve.. Detailed information should have been in the approval request so the approved doesn’t need to dig in information before approving

Hi, You can add a event to a shared office 365 calendar or a sharepoint calendar using Power Automate. ie: www.sharepointpro.com.au/create-event/ - Regarding if calculating leave left, it is possible. It depends where you maintain this information. If you maintained the leave left in SharePoint then you could calculate it from a list, otherwise you may need to sync the information to SharePoint unless the crm which holds this information has a Power Automate connector.

@@omonoiatiko86 You could add in a 'manager' field to the form as a Person type. Or, if each user has their manager set in Active Directory, you can fetch their manager's details.

I think I've tried them all and I'm not getting the email when testing!

How did you guys passed the "leave Request Calendar" step. Like many, even I dont see that list.

You have to create the calendar in sharepoint first - he kind of skipped that bit. Then you just type in the name of the calendar

it seems to be defaulting the time to 5pm or 7pm - weird, so a whole day or week will look at Monday 7pm - Tuesday 5pm.

Requested by and pending response is the same user.
Requested by should be the staff and the pending response should be the manager

@@connecticuthumanities1304 choose Mail(the one with the office logo). this would select the email address of the line manager. hope this helps

Mate, that was the sh_ttiest tutorial I've ever watched. Slow down next time, I had to play is at .25 speed and even then I had to keep backing up.
