    Looks great I had to paint a boat last year tired gel coat at first and it was a mess , sanded it back down and went with oil base paint and sprayed it in my yard and it looked like it was done in a shop . I have a RV with faded paint been thinking about it but this video convinced me to do it with the roller ! Thanks

    Thanks for the video series. I didn't know how I was going to fix the sun dried paint that was all the way down to the fibers in the fiberglass on my Rexhall. I saw this video and immediately went down to lowes, spent about $68 and hours of elbow grease. It's been a year and the paint still looks great.

    Thanks for watching and it has been 2 years since this update, and it was done for less than $40, and it is waaaay better than paying $8500.

      Please tell me the EXACT Name of the paint you used...
      and BTW... Today 2019.. I found out that to have my 1985 Class
      A 30' RV painted it would cost between $12,000. to $15,000. !!!!!
      So YOU did really good!
      I am 64 years old, and living on a fixed income and am remolding a
      1985 Pace Arrow (in really bad shape), but I have redone 24 others
      before... but I haven't paint on fiberglass before...
      I need to know the exact name and where you got your paint...
      God Bless you for making this video... YOU are a God-send to me.

    Thanks for watching, and sorry for not including a title, but I was behind on uploading a update on the paintjob I did with Rustoleum can paint with a foam roller, it cost me about $50-60 for the entire 5th wheel and I recommend everyone to do it your self and save money for RVing :), Thanks Aaokiwan we are planning to do some short trips and Maxwell was really speaking his mind wasn't he, He is so spoiled.

    I have a 2003 HR alumascape TT which I got last year. my exterior walls are just like you'res and I have watched your videos of painting it with one coat. my question has to do with your preparation.
    1. what did you clean it and dry it with before painting?
    2. did you tape the stickers and leave them like that for a few weeks...months or did you retape everytime you painted?
    if you left the tape on there did the coat chip when you went to take the tape off.
    4. did you paint the decal stickers?
    5. how hot/humid was the entire day(s) when you were painted?
    6. After 4 years and before you repainted your HR and removed the decal sticker earlier this year. had any of the paint chipped off?
    7. was the HR always left outside and what are your weathers like? Mine is near the beach and our weather is sunny, hot or humid most of the time.
    8. What was your normal preventative maintenance procedure like? such as type of wash you used, wax and how often?
    thanks so much!

      Sorry for the delay, my preparations was 1st washing it with simple green diluted in a bucket, rinse it very well, I used a 500 grit sand paper wet to ruff it up some, see my video on wet sanding, again rinse well and allow to air dry for a day or towel dry. I have all the confidence that you can do a great job, just test your paint thickness and test on a similar material to get the hang of it and go for it, look forward to seeing your results.

    Hey Max! Excellent job on the paint job! I know you used Rustoleum paint but can you give the details of what kind of Rustoleum? Was it Rustoleum Marine Paint?
    Thanks!

    when you finished the paint job, did you have to deal with "orange peel"??? I'm a retired truck driver of 38 years and have a old 1990 Starcraft 36' motorhome that needs a paint job.

    • @Max1Chase1
      @Max1Chase1  9 років тому +2

      James Hansen None at all the mineral spirits mix with the enamel and produces a smooth surface, just work on the air bubbles, thx for watching.

    • @max1chase166
      @max1chase166 9 років тому

      James Hansen James if you are getting orange peel the mixture is too thick, sorry for the delay, and remove as much excess as you can and slowly roll the roller over your work to remove any air bubbles, Good Luck.
