Suggestion: get the settings sounding as close as possible and go from one to the next to the next. They all sound good, Altiverb clearly has a definition beyond what the others have, but you get what you pay for.
i always find it a little bit difficult to compare unless i have the downloaded version on my computer to test out in my DAW completely uncompressed. i can't speak for Altiverb and am not going to voice an opinion on it given I've only heard it on youtube, but between UAD and Waves, UAD destroys. I know reverb is kind of a taste thing and there isn't really a right or wrong, so instead of arguing that UAD sounds much better, i'll just add that Waves is extremely CPU heavy, and it also just doesn't seem to be as versatile.
How do people judge which is better based off a couple presets?... Based on technology and realism I'd say altiverb would have to be the best. Audio ease have literally traveled the world to get impulse responses in many grande rooms to get their reverb responses. It really comes down to personal preference. But I'd say based on everything else altiverb has to be the best on the stat sheet.
very different here, to me listening to the Hi Hat better definition is on the UAD not at 100% wet which is awfull, Altiverb and Waves is strange almost loosing the Hi Hat or in the waves unnaturally metalic in the last setting the low end is also awfull on the Waves emulation the GUI is a bit to much to me looks awful :-) Vahallah are nice but the low end sound unatural thinner and to noisy/dirty tails, but i prefer them over the Waves
thanks for making such a well-done, informative video!
holy fucking shit altiverb is so good
2:15 for the comparison
Altiverb by far 😁
thanks!
Altiverb by far..
Yeah thanks.
Altiverb the best, UAD the second.
